So I pull into the parking lot today at the same time as one of my bosses...after some pleasantries she looks at me and asks...

How many people do you know who could come up with a quote from The Miz on the fly like that?

Actually I only know him from The Real World/Road Rules and had no idea I was channeling him until I went in search of an amusing pic.  So that means he's either established some kind of mind control over me (pretty neat trick for someone I had forgotten existed) or he and I just think alike.

Huh.  That's certainly something to ponder.

If I was a little quicker on my feet maybe I could have kicked off my downtime a little early...

Backstory is she thought I was off all this week and was surprised to learn I was here yesterday as well.  See, when IT is running smoothly no one even knows you're here...

Here too.  Except -- I was stumped for a bit by the ears on the bottom, til I figured out they were legs.  Ear-shaped legs.

I saw on Reddit that Joe and Kendra are not invited though.

Also, kudo's to them for doing a childfree wedding (except for their direct nieces/nephews)

Weddings are so weird (and expensive). My husband’s 2 cousins had daughters who got married and some of  my hub’s sibs were invited, but we were not. I think it’s because my hub’s sibs’ kids have had huge weddings where the cousins were invited, but neither of our kids has had a wedding (1 did the courthouse overseas and the other is single). Everything is so transactional now.

Also, I have zero fomo and greatly dislike weddings. Please don’t invite me. I am more than happy to stay home.

No. They used to. But like everything else, when Karissa got overwhelmed by having too many children, she cut it out and used her cherry picked religion as an excuse.

That’s really sad. Especially for the older kids, who remember it. I bet you once Karissa stops having kids and the older one starts get married and move out she’ll start celebrating with the few that remain at home.

Hair is a genetic thing- My husband and son have so much hair. They could be gorillas. There is no (male)shaving going on here- Probably too lazy.

And in the words of Kramer from Seinfeld- “You can’t shave your chest hair Jerry, it will just grow in thicker and darker.”

I HATE those ugly cargo shorts and the long board shorts on everyone. People should wear what they like, but men's wear in rural areas is so sloppy and gross.  They are so afraid of being fashionable that they look uncomfortable and usually kind of dirty.

I like men who work out and don't care that their shorts are short, because it's easier to run fast in short shorts. Not men who drive around mocking men who work out for being (insert derogatory term for women of choice here). Also let me see some calf muscle kthanksbye

Wait…shorter shorts make you run faster? That’s my problem. Also, I do not run, I jog which is good enough for a woman screaming towards 70.

I was looking something up on Abby Duggar's family on Fundic Wiki and I saw that her oldest brother had a kid in 2022 and used Wilberforce as his middle name. So Burnett's have Wilberforce as a middle and the Bontrager's have a Surpgeon as a first name. 🫢

The comments to her post about a balloon release for Isla has been absolutely overrun with people pointing out that balloons are really bad for the environment.

I actually agree 100% with this, and spreading the word is key, but it seems in very poor taste to pile onto someone grieving a much-wanted baby. Social media is a brutal place and Jill didn't need this right now. Apparently she said the balloons were biodegradable - I don't know whether that's the case but either way it's an awful time for her and this makes it worse.

From the photos she shared it looks like lots of Duggar family was there - I spotted Jim Bob among them. Joe and family was there but I didn't look too closely to notice who else had showed, and the howlers can be hard to tell apart. I'm glad Isla got a good family showing.
