What's your flouncing style?

There are as many ways to flounce as there are people who get butthurt over nothing.  What's your flouncing style?

Fancy?

Pithy?

Or are you more of a jetsetter kind of flouncer?

Spoiler

Do you helpfully offer to help others flounce with you?

Here's to flouncers everywhere who don't always get the credit they deserve by making the forum a better place...by leaving.

Some tried to effect a scorched earth policy convinced that their lack of participation would ensure our ruin...fantasies of leaving us like this running through their head as they type their final missive...

But it always ends up being a little different than what they imagine...

And I have no segue for this but I can't leave it out because it's making me laugh...dogs and hamburgers!  So funny!

@HerNameIsBuffy...this might be my favorite post of all time!

I think I'd be the stealth flouncer. I loved in the other thread where you said you can't take your ball and go home and pretend you never played on the playground....but man I'd sure try! By stealth-noping right out of somewhere :D

I'm a teeny bit disappointed. I was expecting one of those quizzes with lots of statement sand 3-5 answers and you pick the one that suits you best. At the end you tally up everything and know what you are. But alas. I just get memes :(  (this has to be the first time I'm saddened by memes!)

One board I used to frequent (it died due to the owner changing the format of his site) called it huffing.  We liked to rate the huffs.

I give that a 6.  Didn't have a good beat.  Couldn't dance to it.

Today - I stealth.  I will admit to an aggressive/war waged (with others) on another site flounce.  But I see the error or my ways now.

You're right - now I'm disappointed.  And determined to find a good topic for a quiz because quiz you I shall!

Funny!  A forum I'm familiar with called it "leaving in a huff."  We had multiple pictures of huffs.

Lol, great post, @HerNameIsBuffy

I think I'd probably be a stealth flouncer, but inside I'd be wishing I had the guts to be pithy.  I'm not good at confrontation.  Hopefully I won't ever be in the situation where I have to decide which flounce-type I actually am!

Stealth.  But that's not quite right - I dwindle and fade hoping that someone will miss me.  Of course they should!

So far no-one on other forums has ever has noticed a deliberate and passive aggressive dwindle and fade on my part.

I'm so butt hurt.

I mean - I have been forced to the conclusion that I am actually - replaceable! :playful2:

I love this! There have been so many great flounces to watch here over the years, too - you've done a superb job categorizing them.

I know I'd be a seriously stealthy flouncer given that in four years of membership and even more of lurking, I still haven't even managed to hit sixty posts. It would be so stealthy, it would practically be an anti-flounce.

A non-profit I worked at 30 years ago had a REALLY intense work culture, ie  14-16 hour days, 6 days/week, visionary accomplishment commitments that, once made, were etched in stone, etc.  It was not a religious organization but you had to have a religious-level fervor to last any length of time there.  Many people didn't stay long, just because there wasn't room for a real life outside the office.  I myself lasted about six months at one office and then 5 years later, I made it 14 months at another location/position.  Every once in a while someone would simply disappear, unable to continue but too guilty/overwhelmed/whatever to simply say "my time here is done and I want to move on" -- we called it "bolting".  The phenomenon fascinated me.  I shoulda been a psychologist...

The Scarlett one worked really well in the midst of a recent epic flouncer...Inappropriate as it is, I often think we should name some of our rules after the posters who inspire them :) .

Best post of all time. I wish I could super mega like this. I especially like the use of cats. I like the fancy one, because I'd like to picture myself as a cat wearing a feather boa. I'd probably be some combination of aggressive, pithy, and youthful (post aggressive and pithy things, then see how people react but not respond).

Why is "bye felicia" a flounce? I was under the impression that that's what you SAY to the flouncers.

But I do love the cats. I'm most definitely a Pithy flouncer.

I'm going to have to go with aggressive. Sans gun, though. I would probably instead flip the bird.

Well, that's how I would *like* to envision myself as a flouncer.

In my last real-life flounce (haven't really had too many of those, nor on forums...fora?), I basically exited with what dignity I could muster, with my head held high, and saved my tears for when I got into my car. Dealing with some legit narcissists and possibly (it seems to me) legit sociopaths will do that to you.

No let's not do that. I am someone who would get motivated to put that on my fj bucket list (without flouncing I might add). :shifty-kitty: don't encourage me to be a lil piece o shit!

I do think instead of flouncing I would probably just start writing all my responses in haiku form or something weird like that, or put them through a certain translator so the sounded like she that shall not be summoned.

I have no idea how you find time to work, @HerNameIsBuffy, but I am so happy you find time to compile awesome posts.  And that conclusion -- a dog in hamburgers!  Pure joy!

Usually just getting distracted and wandering off. It has the advantage that if you fail to stick the flounce nobody notices. I once didn't log in to FJ for a month because I was too busy binge-watching the entire backlog of Good Eats...

I would want to be an aggressively fancy flouncer, because nothing says buhbye like firing off a machine gun while swishing a feather boa around. Lethal drama.!

Looks like the nearest hospital to Mountain Grove MO is Texas County Hospital in Houston, MO,  about 30 min. away.

Meanwhile, I wonder how Liz Bontrager feels about 20-year Christian Bowers. He is a bit of a snacc, as they say.  https://www.instagram.com/christianjetbowers/

      image.png.3e0bd5f6fb7960c066ccf6136b57aa8a.png

So now we have track Brad Pitt in Nick Symmonds and fundie Brad Pitt in Christian Bowers.

All three succeed in both being attractive AND really off-putting.

Liz had a thing with Carver a few years ago (to the point that Carver was pictured sitting next to Marlin at several meals, Liz and Carver always had to have a sibling between them in photos, and Carver openly posted creeper pics of Liz on instagram), and IIRC it lasted months. No idea how that would add to the dynamic of her and Christian. It probably wouldn't matter.

The other factor is it appears Marlin and Becky want their daughters to get married on the later side, which is why Carver and Liz likely didn't go anywhere... Liz is still only 21, while Chelsy and Allison were both on the later side of 26, which is another factor.

Michelle actually had MDs for all or nearly all pregnancies and all but maybe 2 of Michelle’s were delivered in a hospital.

Wouldn’t it be nice if she actually told her readers how this works in her house. I’m sure the people asking her have large families and very small budgets and time. But over privileged Braggie just let’s everyone know that she can do it all! She’s just that fantastic. But won’t let the world know that her older kids are probably acting as chauffeurs along with her own mother. The servant of princess Braggie. If everyone knew exactly how much help she has and how much money she spends all the time, she wouldn’t be relatable and would lose a lot of her humpers.
