Change of Seasons

A lot of people enjoy the variety of seasonal changes, especially when winter ends and spring begins, as well as the end of summer as the crisp air of autumn settles in.

To hell with that!  I want summer every single day!  There is nothing as depressing as the days getting shorter, temperatures getting colder, trees and other natural wonders going dead.  The end of summer also means school is starting back up and that only means loads of homework and other distractions from my having fun!  I don't want to have to put on multiple layers just to open the front door!  Maybe I need to move to the equator!

Just sayin...

After 2 weeks of high temperatures over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, I am always ready for winter. After 3 months of spending 24 hours a day, every day with my kids, I am ready for school to resume. Anyone who tries take that away from me had better be prepared for the consequences.

I'm with you!  CrazyD's opinion may be the more popular one, but for me, summer is my least favorite season.  I just do not enjoy the heat!  (Nor do I like air conditioning.)  My house is now so well-insulated that I am quite comfortable indoors during most of each summer day, but who wants to be trapped indoors like that?  No, autumn is my favorite time and winter is a close second, and spring is much more enjoyable now that I'm getting more into gardening, but there is still the dread of "here comes summer, ugh".  And where I live (which is partially why I live here) we have much cooler summers than most -- it gets chilly if not downright cold on most summer nights, which does help temper the daytime heat a bit, and at least makes sleeping comfortable, which would be completely miserable for me if I lived where that didn't happen.

I like June, but not July and August. One month of hot seems to be my limit.

I'm fond of Spring.  I don't like winter or high temps in summer.  Fall is a busy season for me at work so Spring!

I really thought this blog post was going to be about seasons of life... I'm a tad disappointed.

I like spring - not the first weeks when my body is getting used to gardening again, but the the later part, when everything is sprouting (apart from weeds, please for once, let there be no weeds), and it isn't hot enough that I need to be living in the cellar.

I'm not in school anymore, nor do I live in a place with 4 distinct seasons. However, I remember LOVING the change of seasons. That first day in the spring when it was warm enough to go without a coat, and your parents yelling at you to put it back on. Then it got warmer and school was out. Then it was a few months of swimming and biking and skating outdoors and trips to the beach and walks to the candy store to buy candy cigarettes and that weird mushy gum. Summer camps and then it was really hot and time to go back to school. But that was fun too, because you got a supply list and mom and grandma would take you to go get new supplies and new clothes. Then you'd get to see your friends again. A month later it was that crisp fall feeling, hay rides, pumpkin patches, cider and football games. Then it would snow and you could go skiing.

Now it's just like "cold and rain, maybe snow, warm up, melt, cold." Then the days get longer and it gets slightly warmer and you can't travel as easily because construction. The bears wake up and start mauling people. Last weekend we had two maulings. But also bike rides and running and days that don't seem to end. Only I have a job so if I want new school supplies and a new teacher I have to spend $$$$. Eventually fall will happen in a weekend and it will snow again.

I need to move somewhere that it's 69-71 degrees all year round.  There can still be seasons, as long as the temp stays within that very narrow range.  I DO NOT like heat and now that my spine is mostly metal, cold is much harder on me.

I think Joy is one of the siblings that was critical of Jill when she pulled away from the family the way she did, and they may not have much of a relationship right now. Don’t see any interaction on social media, though I know we don’t see everything. That would be a shame if that was the case, especially since Jill was there for Joy when Joy lost Annabelle.

Joy commented on the IG post. Saying she was heartbroken for them or similar. She comments occasionally, the usual “ how cute” about a kid pic or whatever.  All the married daughters seem supportive of each other.  I don’t think we can really judge off social media interaction, or even photos together. They are all busy, with lots of small children, and most of the events we get photos of are crowded with not everyone present necessarily in the picture. They may text or send each other funny memes or get together for coffee and we know nothing about it.

In Chelsea's Easter pictures George is wearing an outfit that I literally have never seen ever. It almost looks like weird plus fours. She is slowly inching him into pants I guess. Is Pentecostal fashion very big and blousy like what the older girls wear? It looks like the shape would be comfortable but the fabrics wouldn't be. I guess if you are aiming for a potato sack shape you need to add as much lace and ruffles and florals as possible to make sure that people know it is clothing.

If the kids all get a bath before bed and then put on their clothes for the next day, it’s not too gross. But I always had bed wetters so changing everything in the morning was a non negotiable. But if her kids don’t wet the bed, then I guess it’s not a huge deal.

There's no way her kids are magically not bed wetters. They've probably just learned she doesn't give a shit so they grab an older sibling or their grandmother for help. No doubt Braggie has no clue what's going on with her kids over the course of a day. She's an aggressively incompetent parent.

Braggie strikes me as the type of parent who has this idea in her head of what her children do over the course of the day while her older children and her mother would be standing there wondering what strangers she's talking about.

I saw on Reddit that Joe and Kendra are not invited though.

Also, kudos to them for doing a childfree wedding (except for their direct nieces/nephews)

Just because you've known someone for a long time, doesn't mean you like them.

It was mostly in response to the "I know that the intertwining isn't news, but it still fascinates me," comment.
