Pampered Pets & Toys!

Here's my latest from Pampered Pets. I love that book!  This is the page upon which my Copic Lipstick Red and a W&N ProMarker Cobalt Blue, both brand new, malfunctioned and spat excess ink onto the page. I whined loudly about this on my profile page in a status update.  I was asked to post both the original page with the ink blots and the edited version for comparison so this is the edited one and I'll post the one showing the ink blots on my profile page.  Thank goodness for photo editing!

Wow, @Tikobaby.  What a gorgeous picture!  I love the colours and the way you always bring such life to your little creature friends and their surroundings.  Beautiful!

And that is an amazing editing job!  We would never know you'd had these ink splatters!  Great job on that.  Here's one instance where I wish your real life one looks as good (in those areas).

Thanks so much, @Fascinated! I know...the original is fatally flawed by the unfixable ink splats, but the digital version is all pretty and shiny!  Am so glad I could fix it by editing after all the effort I put into the page.  Glad you like it!

As far as I'm concerned, it's perfect!  I know how much time and effort most of these take, but it was definitely worth it!

Beautifully done, and a great job on editing.

Thank you, @caszandra!   Really glad you like it.  Glad I'm used to editing my photos because it makes it easier to fix coloring SPLATS like the ones on the original page. Hope I don't have more ink splats to edit in the future, though,   :marker:

Ok, how do you manage to colour so smoothly, especially the background? My pictures always look 'streaky', meaning you can see the pen strokes no matter how careful I am. Do you have a special technique, is it the quality of the markers, or a really good camera? Oh, and this picture is amazing.

Thank you, @Playagirl!  I use markers only and have found that the higher quality ones work better for me.  (Except for splats caused by malfunctions!) Try to choose background colors that don't lend themselves to showing streaks. Yellow is good and some lighter oranges...experiment. Coloring quickly, in more curving lines and then filling in works better for me than straighter lines one on top of each other. Keeping the edge wet and not going back over the coloring edge if it's dried is good. If you're coloring in a big area and need to stop, if there's any way, try to stop the line in a narrow area so it won't be so obvious when you start back up and have a "seam".  No matter what you do, there will be streaks at some point so if I end up with an unsightly streak I can't stand looking at, that's when photo editing comes in. The clone tool is your friend!  :marker:

cheat!!! All this time I was thinking you were the coloring master, and now I find out you're the editing master?! ;)

I'm very nearly convinced that I need markers. My wallet isn't convinced yet though.

If you'd like to compare a before and after editing page, I posted the Pampered Pets pre-edit on my profile. As I've said in numerous past posts , I edit all photos, (wildlife, coloring pages, and original art),  for color/contrast/exposure/temp due to the fact that the original camera photo just never matches the real life vividness and look of the page.  Once in awhile, if I end up with a noticeable streak in a background, I do edit it, which I've described in earlier posts in an  effort to be helpful to other colorists.

You can hold two master titles, it's fine. I had seen it; it took me ages to see the splotches because I was looking for a blood splatter pattern taking up a big portion of the page in bright bright red.

I also just noticed that you gave the dog nail polish! poor thing. I do think it looks very cool though. (I also just noticed that i forgot to mention that I love the pic, especially the spinning top)

You are killing me with that pink today!   Did I tell you I finally managed to get hold of an orchid?  that was a happy day here ;)   I love this one, as always.  I really like the little goose, as well as the pink elephant

Glad you got an Orchid!   My favorite thing in this page is the top in the lower left corner...it reminds me of a favorite toy I had.  Glad you like the page!  :my_shy:

Oh I didn't even notice the top the first time.  I remember those.  I don't think I had one, but my babysitter did.  It made a music sound when you pushed down the plunger, IIRC.   I feel old now lol

I had one of those, too!  Can I just say here that, @Curious, you are doing yeoman's work slogging through the colouring blog. And reviewing all of these gorgeous pictures is getting me really excited to get colouring again!

I really wanted to catch up on the blog when I was in the SNF, but it was harder than I expected to be on my right side the entire time and I really didn't feel as well as I thought I would after my lung decided to go belly up, so blah.  I'm determined to get through all the entries though!  I am really enjoying seeing everyone's pages.   I have a ton of pages for my husband to scan so I can get back to posting my own pages again.  Toward the end of my stay, when I was starting to feel better, I did manage to actually get some coloring done.

I confess that I spend more time watching coloring related/drawing videos on youtube right now than I do coloring.

Well, I think I can speak for all of the minions when I say that we are so happy you are feeling better and that we definitely missed you in (on?) this blog. All is right in the colouring world again!  And I look forward to seeing your pictures when Mr. Curious gets around to scanning them!

The mystery of what Josiah and Lauren named their Baby E has been solved. It's Ezra. Lauren also has another sibling that was born in the last few years. Per Fundie Wiki, they were probably born sometime after 2019 and their name is Dallas.

But how would that work? Anna gets the reports and it’s her job to stop Josh from using porn/child porn but also she is to dutifully serve him and he has the final say? Either she has authority or she doesn’t.

I think that Anna got the covenant eyes reports, and they were likely all pretty benign, as Josh knew enough to partition the drive and get around the monitoring.

Also, this is Anna here. The one who ran around wondering where the "vibrator" was, right? When they couldn't find the baby bouncer? And seemed to have not one clue. So even if there was something questionable in Josh's reports, with it blurred out for her would she have recognized it? Josh probably knew exactly how far he could push on the regular web that would manage to either skate by the monitoring or be easy to mislead a naive Anna about. And once he had the dark web partition set up, that was no longer an issue anyway. Anything questionable pops up on the report, Josh just says "Oh, it was a strange ad that popped up one day" or "one of the employees must have looked at that" or "oh, how funny! That was a photo of a supercar and the software must have thought it was a person!"

He says he hates pain, that he has to watch his wife experience pain daily, and that, while he never heard her say it himself, his sister told him that their mother, with her health issues, sometimes said, "if this is all life is about, ah'd as soon just dah."

He never heard it because he was gallivanting around the country living in hotel rooms and church basements telling other people how to live, likely while his sister did much of the helping and caring.

I was thinking that as I heard him say it, and hoped someone would notice and post that thought.

Between their culture of women being expected to serve cheerfully and what little we've seen of her personality, Sheila may not have complained to Gary even when he was visiting. She may have been the type to  only express any concerns or discomfort to other women.

I doubt JB would have expected Josh to be looking at CSAM.  Like many of us, he probably believed the violation of his sisters was a crime of opportunity, not true preference.  I didn't fall out of my chair in shock or anything when it came out, but I hadn't assumed he was a pedophile based on his actions when he was a teenager.

And Anna could only get the reports if there was something to report - he may have set up a partition immediately since he was always into computers and she never got any notifications anything was amiss.

My favorite thing about her latest treasure and IG is that she made a big deal about her find, and fashion-scraped the visible parts of the piece… and then someone asked about seeing the inside, and AH had to admitted that she hadn't cleaned the inside of it- she opened the door and there was dust and crap inside. THIS sums up Abbie, perfectly. She’s a superficial show with nothing of substance underneath, and is lazy AF. Clean the damn thing out before you take to the gram for attention.
