Curious Owl Creatures

Playagirl

From my new Creative Haven book. Done with mostly metallic gel pens with a bit of neon thrown in. I decided to try adding a black background but had to get creative (no pun intended) when I started to run out of black partway through. All "black" is definitely not created equal. I was hoping the black would make the owls pop more but I think it ended up just making the picture look somewhat overwhelming. The metallic definitely does not photograph well. I took a bunch of pics but the colouring looks strange in all of them. Oh well, on to something else.

We are our own worse critics! I like how the black fades as if you didn't tell me it was running out I would have thought you had done it on purpose. I like the colours you used and the only thing 'wrong' that I can see is the photo is slightly out of focus in the top half, otherwise good job well done, I like it.

Oh! I like this. I color too. Maybe I will share one of mine. Is it too soon for me to do that?

I wouldn't have known you ran out of black, either, @Playagirl!  I think you are too close to it to see how nice it looks, if you know what I mean.  (Like @caszandra already said actually.). I think it looks great and I love that you did the background. But, as we all know, backgrounds are an ink suck, for sure.

@Witherwings, I hope you join our little colouring family and post your creations!

Ink suck is a perfect way to put it!!! An expensive ink suck. I'm working on another pic from the same book. I'm using regular markers but this time I'm doing the background in pencil to save my markers. Interesting contrast between the two mediums.

I can't wait to see how it looks, I wouldn't of thought to do that myself.

@Witherwings, yes you need to be added to the group to post, @clueliss has tagged @Curious to bring it to her attention so hopefully you will be added soon. I can't wait to see your colouring.

I still have not been added, but when I am I have a few ready to share. I didn't even know people shared adult coloring on the internet. :pb_redface:

I didn't even know adult colouring was a thing until I stumbled upon it here at fj. Once I started I got hooked.

Black is definitely not created equal :(   I've started to really love the books that have black backgrounds printed on the pages.  I just did one of ladybugs that had a pre-printed black background and I love the way it turned out.   I like your owls.  If you didn't tell us you had issues it'd just look like an artistic choice :)

Jinger and Jeremy attended a screening of Candace Cameron's movie that's coming out next Friday. It's called Unsung Hero.

No surprise there. 7 out of the 8 Morton sons have a honeymoon baby. It’s almost creepy.

ETA: I’m not saying they all got pregnant on the honeymoon trip. Just that they all got pregnant within a month of their marriage. Their wives all had babies 9-10 months after the wedding.

When sexually active, it's always a possibility.

As for c-sections, I don't have very many friends who big families (those who do have lots of kids have had vaginal births), but I know when my mom's friend was having babies in the late 80's/early 90's, her doctor was unimpressed when she got pregnant for the fifth time because he said anything past three sections was dangerous. Whether or not that's true or just his opinion, I'm unsure, but it makes sense to me. You're cutting through a lot of tissue and layers, and things weaken with each delivery.

my best friend has 5 kids and the last were twins and she delivered them all naturally.
