I'm all about the meetings...

I had three scheduled for today.  That's right...three.  On a Friday.

Yes, I do believe scheduling those is a form of self-harm.

One of them was scheduled for earlier...but I moved it because I had other important things to do first...

And the one later afternoon was cancelled due to someone else's scheduling issue...didn't much like that guy before, but I do now.

In order to move these things along I have some plans.  Did some pre-meeting communication with key people...

But truth be told I'd rather be here...

I love that Ron Swanson quote! Today is messing with my head because it's April 15th, tax day, only not really because of the holiday, and yesterday my boss asked me if I would work today (usually have Fridays off), and I said yes, only to call and cancel because I'd forgotten that my child doesn't have school today. And now there are two different children asking to come play at my house.

So yeah, hope those meetings go smoothly and that you can come back and have meaningful discussions with us soon!

There is a fair and equitable distribution of work between my two bosses and me.  Boss 1 does presentations.  Boss 2 goes to meetings.  I sit at my desk and write instructions and 'how tos.'  As long as I do not have to meet or present I'm happy.

Meetings over...let the real work begin.

Also, I hate Skype.  And I decided I don't think I drink enough.  Those are unrelated thoughts.

Clearly, they're related. You probably just need to drink while skyping to enjoy it more.

Mr karma flew from Melbourne, where he'd been for meetings since Monday, to Singapore on Thursday night, arriving at his hotel at 1.30am. He phoned me last night - he'd had 7 meetings in one day, starting with a breakfast one at 7.30, ending with a dinner one which finished at 9.30pm. He's the one speaking though, so no breakfast or dinner for him. He did have time for a sandwich at lunchtime. He was pretty much saying the same as your "the amount of meetings is too damn high" meme.

Luckily he didn't ask me what I'd done during the day - a leisurely walk along the beach with a friend, yummy Thai for lunch, another walk with our dog walking neighbours.

Gwen has skipped a couple of daily devos again but we get this: FB_IMG_1596555650895.thumb.jpg.d14c464d7992aa1b5cf703853ef90609.jpg

Did you know that not-eating is the most pivotal breakthrough in the world?

Ah you're right Ezra turned 14 in May. I thought his birthday was in the late fall / winter like the other kids. It looks like Simon and Della are almost 3 years. Then she really hits her stride: Della and Evy and Nola are a couple months shy of 2 years, Evy and Nola and Theo are a few months over 2 years, Theo and Honor are two years and a month, and Honor and Shiloh are also 2 years and a month. The new babies will be about a 1 and a half years younger than Shiloh.

I grew up in a rural area, all the grade schools were K-7, high school 8-12.  The really really rural schools were K-12.

I graduated from a rural K-12 school(one wing was K-6, the other 7-12).  They’ve always had full-day K except for one year in the 50s when there were so many kids that they had to have half-day sessions.  And my mom was part of their very first kindergarten class in 1950.
