I found my little elephants' mum (or dad, not sure)!

This is my first non-disaster :kitty-shifty: from my new edition of Animal Kingdom.  I hadn't done this elephant in the original book, although the design is the same.  The stock is very nice and the markers don't bleed through onto the subsequent page.  I used minimal colours here: Prisma 'Canary Yellow' and Winsor and Newton 'Turquoise', China Blue', 'Lipstick Red' and, the delicious 'Mango'.  I also used a couple of fine line markers by Prisma, just for the really small details, so the shades differ a bit.

Whether Mom or Dad, (s)he is absolutely gorgeous!  I still can't make myself start something that intricate.

Thanks, @SoSoNosy.  You could try one? Honestly, they can be very frustrating to do with all those little corners that the artists throw at us.  But, when you get through it, you feel like you've accomplished quite a task.  But, yeah, they are very tedious at times.  The thing is, I have two Creative Haven books (Owls and an Animal one, the name of which escapes me?) and I simply cannot do them!  I've tried, and failed miserably. I'm glad you like him/her, though.  S/he is a bit vain so appreciates your kind words.

Oh, by the way, thanks for mentioning your Prisma fine liners because it reminded me that I have some!  I totally forgot about them. Also, Mango is on my list for next time I order markers...love it!  :marker:

That's awesome, @Tikobaby. I also have their 'Mandarin', which is similar and gorgeous, too!

This is GORGEOUS!   You could frame this one and hang it on the wall.  Love it!    Lipstick red is my favorite of all the reds I have, as an aside.

WTF does the following even mean?

      Quote

We live in a different world than we did, when my mom's book was written. There are chapters throughout a century. Times where certain things are needed.

She must be functionally illiterate. Even considering her (and her parents') belief in "rules for thee but not for me," does she even read what she writes? CTBHM was first published in 2004 -- the year she & James got married. IOW, the book was written in this century, the 21st century.

When I heard Jodi state that to the officers I thought, huh-uh, that's not an Air BnB, I bet it is housing for "intensive therapy" for couples for which she could charge the church. But maybe not.

If that other side had its own kitchen, that still leaves two kitchens in the rest of the house plus the safe/prison room with its tiny "kitchen." Jodi may have built it with her brand of therapy control in mind. I wonder how that house would serve another family who will end up living there.

Something that puzzles me is how both garages were so pristinely clean, but with signs that cars had been in there at some point. The entire driveway is small rocks or pebbles, I could hear the police vehicles crunching over them. Yet there was no sign of pebbles being drug into the garage or falling from tire treads. Sweeping it out regularly may have been forced on one or more of the kids.

Oh yes the kids were forced to do a lot of manual labor type stuff. I’m sure that giant house was always clean.

Shoshanna finally addresses her parent's books....by implying that there's nothing problematic with Created to be his Helpmeet, and that her divorce is justified...just because???

Of course she would give this type of reply. Her mother only helps, never hurts women. And she is not looking at her own upbringing or beliefs any differently after divorce. Typical fundie.

The BB realized pretty quickly that they will get way more attention and clicks if they make fun of libs instead of evangelicals. Mostly because Evangelicals would rather Make fun of libs instead of laughing at themselves.

Don’t ever complain about your husband being a lazy slob around Allison. She will just say, “at least your husband isn’t dead!”
