Curious Quails...and a Hedgehog!

Tikobaby

Finished this one the other day. Sorry for the less than great photo...took it inside and the light is not even.  From Curious Creatures, of course!  Copic Sketch & Prisma markers, Winsor & Newton Promarkers, and Staedtler fineliners.  Working on one from Pampered Pets right now!  :marker:

I love it. Are all the lilac flowers colored with the same marker? The bottom ones look a bit darker.

Yes, the lilac color is Orchid, a Winsor & Newton ProMarker, and one of my favorite colors. I think it's just the uneven lighting in the photo affecting the color brightness. I was too lazy to use my bigger camera with the bounce flash unit to take the photo.  Glad you like it!  :my_shy:

It's probably also a bit to do with different contrast between adjoining colors. I always thought you used a small color selection in your pictures and it was always lighting that made my eyes think otherwise, until I saw your collection of markers, and then I thought I might be wrong ;)

This is great, @Tikobaby!  The colours are, as always, just gorgeous. The quails are delightful and the hedgehog is as cute as can be (I'm extremely partial to hedgehogs).  Beautiful page!

(I'm a bit concerned about you, though.  I mean, if we disregard the animals for a moment, the rest of your picture looks, dare I say, realistic!)

I have sharpies at the moment which I really like and used for my new pic that I just posted, but I really want the copics, I am going to put them on my amazon wish list and save up and treat myself when I can. Or hope I win the lottery and get all the markers I want lol

Thank you, @Fascinated,  very glad you  like it!  I love hedgehogs too...so cute!   Don't worry...I'm not turning too realistic. Just thought those the colors would look good together and you know I love Orchid.

Do you get stressed using so few colors or does that come naturally? Your pictures always look really cohesive and not like you're lacking in a variety of colors. I have no clue how you do that.

Prismacolor and Winsor & Newton are excellent markers and less expensive than Copics.  I have a 6 pack of the Blick brand brush tip markers coming in day or two to try for the first time to see if they are comparable to Copics since Copics are out of stock all over the place online. I was able to order some single Copics on Amazon, no sets seem to be available, but they're so expensive that I really can't afford sets anyway. Will let everyone know how the Blicks turn out...hope they're great since they are available without any problem.   :marker:

No, coloring is very stress free for me, that's why I like doing it. It helps me with my anxiety problems and clears my mind of everything but coloring for a little while, which is a great relief.  I just choose colors that I want to see together...don't really think about how many or how few I'm using.  :my_shy:  :marker:

I love this one.  I have it pulled out to color, but haven't started it yet.   Did you see that Margaret Sarnat has released a book called Elegant Elephants?   I'm not sure how she got that one past me.  I have the Fanciful Foxes one pre-ordered, so will get the elephants one next time I order from amazon.

Thanks, @Curious!  Glad you like it.   I'm not up on the new coloring books right now since the budget is very tight and I can't order anything, but the elephant one sounds good.  I like elephants. :my_shy:

My wish list is huge right now because I'm also on pretty tight budget right now, but I sneak in the books from my favorite authors when I have to order something else.  They didn't have a preview of the elephants one, but I figured that I can't go wrong with her books.  I have no idea how it slipped by me because I routinely look for her specifically when I'm browsing and I have an amazon alert set up for her as well.  It must have come out when I was in the SNF, I guess.

Wouldn’t it be nice if she actually told her readers how this works in her house

Well, she didn’t say each child gets to do all the activities. They could all be in church groups and home school co-op (no individual activities, so easy to coordinate), music lessons could well be with a teacher coming into their home, then one kid doing a sport, one kid in choir, “social events” could be anything that only happens once a year - and voilà, she wouldn’t have technically lied in her post, but makes it sound a lot more than it actually is for each individual child.

Last I checked, Driscoll doesn't do repentnance. Thatʻs for other people.

Well good luck with that.  Driscoll isn't the repenting type.  That's for beta men; he's clearly an alpha, in an "I'm a legend in my own mind" kinda way.
