My first mandala

Finally took on the challenge of a mandala, I made a big mistake but managed to cover it up quite well but I don't recommend using tip-ex with gel pens lol! The gel pens were a cheap set I got at B&M. It took me 5 days to do this as my hands have been really sore for the last week so I only done a wee bit at a time, I'm feeling quite chuffed with myself for getting it done.

It's so interesting to me that looking at people's coloring projects often brings back memories of my childhood.  I'm not into coloring, not as artistic expression nor as a hobby or skill or comforting activity (for me those would be more like puzzles).

But as I look at other people's coloring works, I will often find some particular color combination that evokes a memory for me of some childhood visual image -- either something I colored (perhaps as a teen, since I doubt I'd remember specific coloring done as a youngster) or an illustration in a book, or maybe some textile I saw frequently.  On this one it's the bright pink-and-green on some of the leaves.  But this has happened 4-5 times with others' coloring too.  Occasionally I'll know exactly what it's from; more often it's just a nonspecific memory-reaction of familiarity, of warmth and fondness and nostalgia.  Thanks, all you colorists!

I really like this!  I have colored one simple mandala, but haven't gotten a picture of it.  It was from a book called "entangled" so I guess they are all zentangle mandalas.  I'll eventually get a picture.

I find this rather mesmerizing to look at... And after a bit it kinda took on a sort of 3D depth to my eyes. Really nice. :)

I immediately loved the pink and green, then I started to enjoy other color combos in this and cannot decide what I like best.

I really like the color combos in this one.  The metallics toward the outside are really pretty and I love the flower in the middle.  A very cheery looking page :)

People on Reddit think Joy wasn't there, which is understandable since she went through something similar. Going to something like that would probably just bring all that pain back up.

RE: number of c-sections - I've heard of women in Europe being told 2 only; my friend's parents argued that Americans do more and their doctor okayed four. Women in US 4 only. But have met women who have had 5 sections. Two women I know were told at their last c-section (3rd and 5th) that their uterus was at the point of rupture and advised them to not have any more pregnancies. My point is it's very individual and a doctors should consider individual circumstances.

One sister could be a crime of opportunity, but 4 sisters and a babysitter presumably multiple times each is a preference.

And considering the age of the youngest sister at the time? Yeah, that's not a crime of opportunity.

She talked about how the little children were taking bread from the pantry and putting it in there.

      That could be concerning.

Look I know kids do weird things as part of games, and maybe I've been reading JRod too much but my first thought was that they are hungry and hiding food for later.

This I just don't get. Surely at least part of the point of it is storage? At the very least wouldn't you clean just to make sure you hadn't brought spiders or other insects in with you?? Betting at least part of the price difference was cleaning, restoring, polishing and insect-free guarantee!

She talked about how the little children were taking bread from the pantry and putting it in there. So maybe it was clean when it came home but then the food got in it?

Unclear. I guess I don't get why if you recorded that you wouldn't pause, wipe it out, and rerecord? I would be embarrassed by that.
