If it's syncopated rhythm...
Growing up I was only allowed to listen to 'wholesome Christian music'. It was a crazy rule really. One time I won a tape which wasn't by a Christian singer. My mother not only unwound it, but also cut the tape into pieces! Rules were rules you see. Except for one of my siblings, who was allowed to keep their The Real McCoy tape... I'm pretty sure that really didn't fit into Christian music, ymmv so I'll let you judge for yourself.
Listening to christian music wasn't all bad. I could freak out my mother by cranking up some Underoath, Pillar or Disciple. Plus I learned key gardening skills from Christian music:
The Lads (The Cactus Song) - Cacti and bonsai trees can live together in harmony. Apparently plants don't bitch fight as much as humans so generally they don't give a shit about who they are seated next to
Audio Adrenaline (The Houseplant Song) - Plants hate music with a beat. "If it's syncopated rhythm then your soul is gonna rot" Instead of pissing off your neighbors with music, go put your plants outside in the sun and go driving with your neighbors late at night.
Five Iron Frenzy (Dandelions) - Weeds can be a sign of love, yeah they're just flowers too
But personally I don't really believe in playing music to plants. I believe that letting plants listen to audiobooks is far superior. It will help stimulate their little brains way more than music will.
- The carer of plants (aka the weeder) is less likely to dance on top of you if an audiobook is playing
- The carer is more likely to spend more time caring for you, because it is less boring
- Stories are awesome. If you are unsure of what your outside plants should hear while you weed them, I would suggest starting off with something like Tess of the d'Urbervilles by Thomas Hardy
I'll leave you with this song, which would have horrified my parents:
