I've got sitcom issues...

Just to be clear I'm not snarking on the looks of  a child...I'm snarking on the stylists or whomever let this one go on tv with her hair like this...

I had straight, hard to style hair and as a squirmy kid had my share of haircuts with uneven bangs and god knows what kind of layers happening down the sides...but no one put me on TV like that!  No one on the set for the entire time she was on the series had a brush?

For you youngsters that's Dawn Lynn, Dodie on My Three Sons (and Leif Garrett's real life sister.)

I hate the show Roseanne but I've seen every episode a zillion times since it's required by law or something, what the fuck is a loose meat sandwich?

Can't be a sloppy joe since it was something Jackie brought back from some truck stop and they acted like it was the second coming of crap on a bun.  Sloppy joes are ubiquitous everywhere in the US.  Besides, when they spooned it out there was no red sauce.

Seriously, what was in that stuff?

Welcome Back Kotter...there is some merit to this show.  I like the running gag with the uncle jokes...and as a kid I was mad my mom wouldn't let me paint CLOSET on my closet doors.  But in what universe does Gabe allow high school kids, with a median age of about 30, to climb in his windows.  That's taking your work home with you before smart phones.  If I'm Julie I'm slamming that window down on the first sweathog part that tries to cross the threshold.

Three's Company - what were they using on Suzanne Sommer's hair for that shine?  It is really hard to get heavily bleached hair that glossy and I need to know how they did it.

Eight is Enough - not technically a sitcom but I'm already typing.  It's like they went out of their way to cast kids who couldn't look less like siblings.

I'll give you maybe Joannie and Tommy and maybe David and Elizabeth - the rest of them?  Nope

And I know some people don't look like family, but in what universe does the gorgeous Valerie Bertinelli share a gene pool with those two?  Ann was frank about red not being her natural color and I can kind of see her being Mackenzie Phillips mom...but unless Valerie had all recessive genes I don't know what happened.

One Day at a Time still wins for catchiest theme song and I don't even care that whomp on the beat makes no sense.  And she totally should have married RIchard Mazur's character when she had a chance...I liked him but she held out for Dr. Johnny Fever?  Who wants that coming at ya in the middle of the night.

Also I think they would have made the worst neighbors ever...Ann and Julie were very loud and I would have had major issues.  Also, way to parent letting some handyman you didn't even know at first let himself in and out of your place where you live with your underage girls.  It's called a deadbolt and letter on legal stationary to the landlord.

Bewitched...Darren one was a PITA the ass at times but he adored Sam.  Darren two was a giant ass and Endora should have staged some kind of intervention.

Loose Meat Sandwich

I liked Roseanne. Both when it was current and now as a ... I don't know. It was groundbreaking. It was nice to see people on tv that weren't wealthy, thin, pretty. It had sarcasm. My parents HATED it.

I would not be happy in Landford.

No one is really happy in Lanford. It's a poor, industrial town in the north. I'm not saying poor people or blue collar workers can't be happy. But the people of Lanford seem to be constantly dealing with setback after setback.

Can we just add to Roseanne that while it did have Clooney on it for a while, it was WTHECK Clooney not ER when did he get hot Clooney.

One Day at a Time sort of came on the air in the aftermath of my parent's divorce.   However My mom was no M.S. Ramano.

Are you being paid by some sort of "Derail Vi from getting her wedding things done" gremlin, @HerNameIsBuffy?   Because you *should* be, you're so proficient!

No this was the work of demons in my head intent on sabotaging me.  I struggled so much today just to try to focus I wondered if there was a gas leak - not kidding.  I just couldn't concentrate and now that I'm home the self loathing begins lol.

Nor was mine.  Mine wasn't a fan because she thought it made divorcees look angry and bitter - stereotype perpetuation.

Perhaps our demons are in the same union?  We had lots of fun, no self loathing allowed.  It was just a Casual Friday for the mind!

Unfortunately @violynn my brain made it casual week and took most of it off.

debsting going to HR and having her kill a couple of vacation days so I feel less guilty for being a slackass.  I would tell her it was because I was a slackass, I'd say not feeling well which kinda true if by that you mean I was chasing invisible butterflies instead of thinking.

but I've had more fun goofing off today than in a very long time, so that's something :)

goal for the weekend - get back to being myself by Monday!

I'm sorry you're feeling as if you've been slacking, @HerNameIsBuffy. Everything I've seen as your professional work ethic would suggest you are an absolutely hardworking individual.  Like everyone, maybe you just need a little time off to blow off steam.  Heck, you work hard at your 'offtime' job here too, and that's been no picnic lately!  I hope you get the downtime you need so you'll feel better about it soon.

I actually wondered today since my bosses were out of the office if I could go to HR and Fire myself?  But would probably be unethical to give myself a severance lol.  And a felony and I would not last in prison.

work has just been a minefield lately and bled over into off hours so much I, getting cranky.  But passive aggressive goofing off won't work forever, although it's been working great so far lol. So I need to fish or cut bait as they say.

but I have the weekend and a house to clean so YAY for the next 48 hours!

Too hard on yourself!  But yes, YAY for the next 48 hours, and cleaning always helps me work off stress, gives me time to think and lets me feel I've done something useful and productive when I'm feeling less than 100% effective.  I hope it helps!

Yes, but those are messy for a reason and you plan accordingly.  This is just mess when the actual burger would be the same so it's madness!!

It's also possible Joy was there and requested not to be photographed.

That was a dreadfully extreme reaction and yes therapy needing or she's among the 1 percent of most selfish people on earth.  Joy has PPD and is getting therapy.  I can see where she mighht not go to the funeral, but support Jill in other ways.

"Very thoughtful and intentional updates".  That's a load of bullshit.  She wanted her kitchen redone and they were willing to spend six months in a rental to have it just like Braggie wanted it.  If she'd really put thought into it, she would have arranged the kitchen so that it was more child-friendly.  She could have actually had the kitchen designed so it would be easier to prep for meals and clean up afterwards.  I see nothing like that.  It's just new knobs, distressed painting, and old furniture.   (That distressed green door is making me nuts.)  Where are the pull-outs for pan storage?  What about, you know, rounding the damn corners so your little boys aren't always cracking their skulls on the corners as they skid around the kitchen?  What about comfortable seating?  What about a pantry that's closer to the kitchen counter?  What about making the daily dinnerware easier to put away and not using shelves in the kitchen to display your mismatched bowls and cups?  And why is there a bandanna hanging right near a stove burner?

Didn't she call them "twinbies" as a portmanteau for twin babies? Those are not babies anymore and haven't been for a while. I'm probably just being BEC about this but I do wonder if they'll be babied for as long as Janessa Rodrigues is.

Yes, they will.  The girls are twinsies and the boys are twinbies.  Abbie thinks that's cute.  She mentioned in a story yesterday that she had to clean some poopy diapers so the boys are nearly four and she still isn't toilet training them.  They will stay babies for a couple more years.

More proof she has a shopping problem. She sells stuff all the time. Therefore you don’t notice how much she constantly buys.

More lies d from Braggie. She constantly complained about her concrete counter top because it was always chipping. She also complained about the paint on the cabinets chipping as well. She has been wanting to redo The Whole kitchen for awhile and a total gut job was not necessary at all. She lies as much as she breathes.

I have to add she got two new dishwashers, a new giant fridge and a new $12,000 stove/oven. I’m sure they weren’t broken by the “flood.”
