I'm not at home yet, so I can't say much but things went VERY well and they said we'd be very happy when we heard from them at the end of the week.  Youngest was so articulate and eloquent.  Won't be home til later tonight, so it might be tomorrow.  So grateful to you all!!!

You're both so incredibly brave! Testifying is really difficult! Great job! I'm glad you're sounding hopeful, too! You must be so proud of your girl!

That's wonderful news, @violynn!  I was definitely thinking of you today.  I look forward to hearing about it, if you wish to share any details.  But, I am so happy it went well!

Dang, everyone!!  Thank you so much for all the good wishes!

I don't know if y'all want the play-by-play version, but if you just wanted the "what happened?" succinct version, this was it.  I'm working on the long version, but I had to stop and thank you all, those who read this past few months entries, those of you who gave your support with votes, and of course each of you who left some sort of message.  I showed Youngest all your messages of admiration and love for her.  Nothing is better for a pre-teen daughter with scary stuff happening than realizing people she doesn't know think she is amazing.  I'll be forever grateful for what you've done for her.  Me too, of course, but especially her.

Does anyone know if the term “Easter Triduum” is a TradCath thing?

Guy at my firm who I’m doing a project for was out Thursday/today is out, citing the above as the reason for his absence. Has a very Irish name so wouldn’t be surprised if he’s Irish Catholic but in my limited dealings with him he hasn’t given off really religious vibes (then again, I’ve worked with two guys who went to Pensacola and Bob Jones and they didn’t give off super religious vibes on our calls either so 🤷‍♂️).

I don’t remember the phrase Tawny Owl being used, but I can remember the woman who would have used that title, as it were.

Not a fundie- but the other day a Michigan state rep tweeted a picture of a couple buses leaving the Detroit airport, wondering where the “illegal invaders” were being bussed to.

The “illegal invaders” were the Gonzaga men’s basketball team, who had just arrived in Detroit for their regional semifinal matchup.

Dude gets exposed and his response is basically, “STFU you communist.”

He’s also an election denier who has predicted another civil war.

Erica has two associations for me. One is Erika Shupe, and the other is that it was the name of the “Brown Owl” of my Brownie Guides group when I joined. Brown Owl is the traditional name given to the main leader of a Brownie unit here in the UK. I remember she always had her hair in a single long plait down her back.

We use Brown Owl for the main leader in Canada too and Tawny Owl for second in command.

I am a Brown Owl! In Ireland, but was also a Tawny Owl in the UK. I love being Brown Owl and the whole story that goes with it.
