Introducing... 2 new fosters!!

Hi! It's been a while since I posted.  I recently took in two new foster kitties! They are a brother/sister combo pack, and they are too cute.  The brother is really protective over the sister, and literally puts himself on top of her.  But surprisingly, the sister is the one coming around faster to me, letting me pet her more and stuff, while the brother kinda backs away when I go to pet him.  They are around four months old.

Here they are! The black one is Harley, and the tabby is Camille.  I have more pics of Camille, because she actually likes to be petted by me, as opposed to Harley who barely tolerates it then scampers off at his first chance.

And this is an update on Handsome Hank, my more recent foster!  He got adopted and is now loving life with his (adopted) identical twin, TJ.

That's all for now.  I will try to update as they get bigger and come out of their shell.  Our first night was off to a rocky start, as they decided to somehow pull down my hand-towel and leave me a "present."  Then, the second night, they knocked everything down in the bathroom and clawed at the toilet paper.  We will see what is in store for me tonight! Hehe.  They are little scoundrels.  But I am happy because already they allow me to pet them and Camille even ate food off my hand. :)

Wonderful thing you're doing, fostering. Giving love to baby fur balls is to be admired!

What is it with cats and toilets?   Every time I've had a "spooky" cat, they have loved hiding behind the toilet.   If they are tearing up your bathroom too much, it's perfectly acceptable to crate cats at night.   Just have to have a crate big enough to hold a small litter box.

We could not leave our 2 (now adults) cats alone without supervision when they were kittens because we had several dogs that were a little too interested in them when they were tiny (the dogs were fine with adult cats).   So we had to crate them for a while.   I have a big wire german shepherd size travel create that I inherited from some dog I was fostering years ago.  We set that up for the kittens.  Put a litter box in one end and a bed in the other.  Hung a couple toys down from the top and they also had toys on the ground and they were happy enough to spend time in there when we didn't have time for total supervision.    Once they could hold their own with the dogs, they were allowed free range of the house, but still often slept in the crate (we just left it in the cat room with the doors open).

Now that crate has been transitioned to a new puppy/chihuahua house, so they can't be bothered to go in it anymore

I look forward to more pics as they grow.  I am living vicariously through all the FJ member kittens since I can't have a new kitten right now :)

It's great to see a previous foster happy in their new forever home isn't it?  Makes the heartbreak of letting them go worth it.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. It's been a few days, and they are already settling in better. They are eating out of my hand and allowing me to pet them on my lap. :)

@Curious thanks for the advice. Since they're still I'm the bathroom, there's not too much that they can mess up. When I let them out, though, I'm gonna have to monitor them, because I know they will go looking for things to get into. I'm wondering if they didn't meow up a storm while being crated?

@browncoatslytherin I do get attached, but I know that they are going to great homes. Also, I selfishly foster, since it's not smart of me to make the commitment of adopting right now, so this gives me the ability to love on a fur baby in the time being!

She talked about how the little children were taking bread from the pantry and putting it in there. So maybe it was clean when it came home but then the food got in it?

I think she just lied.  She didn't want to admit that she hadn't even opened the cabinet and cleaned it out so she blamed it on the boys.  They'd have no reason to put bread in there and, honestly, it didn't look like bread crumbs.  Abbie was so excited over her latest ugly find that it hadn't occurred to her to clean it up first.

I think the little boys just get up to lots of shenanigans because Braggie refuses to supervise them.

I think with all of Josh’s issues, the families still in AR, for the most part, have hunkered down and are protecting their own family’s privacy. The less they expose themselves, the less pushback and snark they receive.

Which of course is a smart move in my opinion.

People on Reddit think Joy wasn't there, which is understandable since she went through something similar. Going to something like that would probably just bring all that pain back up.

RE: number of c-sections - I've heard of women in Europe being told 2 only; my friend's parents argued that Americans do more and their doctor okayed four. Women in US 4 only. But have met women who have had 5 sections. Two women I know were told at their last c-section (3rd and 5th) that their uterus was at the point of rupture and advised them to not have any more pregnancies. My point is it's very individual and a doctors should consider individual circumstances.
