Kitten for Sale

For Sale:  1 medium sized, sleek, black, extra naughty kitten. Self cleaning, needs extra pets at bedtime, likes yummy milk & ice cream flavored fingers. Also likes bouncy balls, fuzzy mice, & string. Will absolutely sit amongst your current craft projects to ensure quality control. Will trade for booze.  (No those quilt squares weren't strategically placed or anything. Totally wasn't taking them row by row to assemble. Mom doesn't have final deadlines coming up, it's cool.)

It's Thorsday!

Pics of a very active, very fussy little black kitteh.   I'm only satisfied when I'm either being snuggled or strolling across moms desk, tromping on the keyboard!

Thor vs. the Fan

There is no more quiet, sleepy jellybean.  There is only ZOOOM kitty who leaps and bounds and tries to maul the oscillating button on the fan.  I missed the opportunity to catch him RIDING the fan!  Kitten Rodeo ya'll.  Real life has started again with Little Hooman and I back in school but he's very happy when we come home.  He has run of the house and we've learned to shuffle our feet and glance down before we step, he's so itty bitty!  But he is fast!  He's learned to kind of stay near the edges of the kitchen counters so he is out of the way of feets.  He's somewhat intrigued by Outside but the front door squeaks enough to freak him out and Princess smells different so he's not sold on the idea (thank everything Holy).  Texi has been play fighting with him so he's learning to Cat quite well, from an expert no less!   The Princess is still unimpressed, but he is infatuated with her long fur.  When he's not attacking hands and feet, he's sleeping on a shoulder or under my chin purring big big.

Kitten Video Debut

It's about 6 minutes, it was taken with my phone and I couldn't clip it down so there's a bit of dialogue, a bit of kitten, and some directors commentary.  Little Thor is so dark, and the lighting is so bad...he doesn't show up well on video   Please excuse my sewing/art room.   This is my first ever YouTube video.  I'm happy that it's my babies.

Thor, a little less manly

I checked him out good this morning, he's healing like a pro on the outside. I was still trying to keep him mellow but he's an active baby. He slept all night under the covers with me, woke up around 5 am to lay on my face.  He's a sweet one. Last night he was curled up with the old man & today he's happy on Little Hoomans soft Binky.  He seems to have some alopecia going on, probably a flea allergy. He's been dosed & scrubbed so we're just waiting for his fur to thicken back up. As Honey said, leave it up to us to have the special needs kids.

Thor has taken a lovah.....

We had a round of cat baths this week, the Little Hooman and I.  I'm determined to keep the fleas at bay!  While this time Thor was slightly more cooperative, he was still pretty p.o.'d when I let him out of the bathroom.  I love when he starts drying and his fur poofs out!  (first pic is post bath) As mentioned in the title...our sweet innocent kitty muffin has taken himself a comfort companion.  Little Hooman's birthday was back in January, one of her friends got her this really soft stuffed dog.  All was fine until he stole the dog from her bedroom, we assumed he was just playing with it.  Uh yeah.  Not so much.   Funny thing to me is....he started stealing the dog just before I had him snippy snipped, I figured it would diminish as time went on. Nope.  Just as amorous after as he was before.  And don't take his puppy!  He doesn't get angry, but he will follow you and it wherever you go!  I managed to catch a G rated pic of him just loving on his puppy.   He's huge ya'll.....he's really really not a jellybean anymore.....

Head Boops & Wet Nose Kisses

Our sweet not so little fuzz muffin has decided that running his fat butt up the dining room curtains after invisibles is a fabulous pastime! His neuter  appointment is next Tuesday at Spaynation, I'm sure they'll spoil him.  Life is so hard being an indoor kitty.... all the things to lay around on... the fancy scratchy post to keep the tosies razor sharp....

Thirsty Thorsday

This little beastie here!!! He's been on one hell of a kick lately.  After the coffee table incidents, yes there were several, the photos I posted were AFTER he got into it twice and found his brush.  I'd moved the brush by that time, he kept going in and digging his little paw around looking for it, I ended up sticking a piece of paper in the corner so the drawer is tight.  We've been playing the "no get down! stay away from the tv!" game all week.  I've moved the scratchy post so he stops going for the corner of the chair.  He was being all sweet kitty the other day....and then last night happens.   I'm in the living room, it's around 8:30-9ish...I hear this massive crash/shatter from the kitchen.  He loves the top of the fridge so my first thought was that he finally sent one of the breakable from up there to the floor.  Nope.  We have this little 3/4 shelf bookshelf in the dining area (big eat in combo kitchen/dining).  On the top sits an air purifier and an X-shaped wine bottle and glass rack.  They take up the whole thing now, so there's little room for his long chubby butt to be up there to begin with.  Well he tried apparently.  I had 3 wine glasses out of 4 hanging on the rack and an unopened bottle of wine just for pretty.  Yeah.  Bottle and rack are OK, glasses--not so much.  Two of them were from a collectors set with the wine and Miranda Lambert's newest CD....UGH. I swear ya'll if he wasn't so cute!!!

Kitten Duties

He's a busy boy. Helping wake mama up on Saturday mornings with wet noses & whiskers, keeping the Old Man in line, pouncing all those invisibles, and of course helping with bed sheets!  He's becoming a long, lean snuggle baby. He's already outgrown his collar! New collar this week & I have to make sure I put his bow ties & post some pics!

Thor Likes the Bathtub!

When Little Hooman gave him the first bath she said he did great.  She gave him a sink bath and he hung around in the bathroom while Princess had her royal scrubbing. She said he was fascinated. He likes to be where we are all the time so in the bath with me he came! Don't worry there's no NSFW content, just toes and kitty. He almost slipped in a couple times, that was hilarious. He's so active now! The jingly balls have no chance, neither do toes or fingers. He has this awesome little trill/meow that he uses when he's in full swing. He's just an adorable fat ball of black poof.

Pictures!

Eating & getting clean, Little Thor has to have at least some little toes hanging out!   Yes they come to the office with me  it's great to be married to the boss!

He's a CAT!

This little muffin isn't a jelly bean anymore!  He's a kibble crunching, toy killing, toe attacking, fluff machine!  Little Hooman bathed him yesterday, she said he did great, basically purred the  whole time and didn't try to evacuate when she grabbed the stinky Princess and put her in the bathtub afterward.  He eats, he plays, he crashes.  He eats, he plays, he crashes.  Heeatsheplayshecrashes.  No ankle is safe anymore.   Pictures are hard to come by due to excessive running, jumping, and biting....so one serene pic and the latest Thor video!

And Just then, he learned how to Cat.

He's still perfecting eating like a big boy. The - stick your whole head and two feet in the bowl - is a popular method.  He's been given the *boop* of approval from the old man. They curled up in front of the fridge & took a cat nap.

Ex's & hurricanes & teenagers, Oh My!

(Not so) Wee Wittle Thor is enjoying the window sitting. It hasn't begun to really get crazy here yet but the air is very lively & there are random showers, everything around my town is flooded at least a little.  The storm in and of itself is enough. Add insult to injury, my ex is bound from his northernmost abode to gift his child with a car. Its not an unwelcome thing, I need the freedom it will afford my schedule. However he really thinks he can just show up into another state & drop off a random vehicle with random paperwork and it be possible for me to register it. Sadly the great state of La clings to civil code, therefore our laws of possession are much different.  Never mind the fact that I simply hate seeing the SoB.  Days off from school and work afford plenty of kitty & doggie squishing, so there's that. A piece of me twinges each time I go outside, I think there's something I need to do. Last year this time my yard turned into a lake, I worked furiously to lift doghouses onto pallets and laid tarps strategically to keep the dogs dry.  My beautiful dog took on whatever bacteria that caused her infections that ultimately took her life earlier this year. It feels strange having all the kids indoors safe & sound.   I feel content but restless all at the same time.. Ya know?  On that note: I give you all, tropical storm cuteness.

Kitten = Toddler. With claws. & Teeth.

He's a wild kitty. He know when it's bedtime but is way to interested in holding on to our noses with his teeth to go to sleep. Yes. He just holds them... but it still kinda hurts.   So he does the cat thing of running up & down the hall at break neck speed singing the song of his people whilst scratching at the door. Oh & he really likes boxes (naturally). Did I mention he's a total slut? When he wants to be cuddled it's all purrs & kitten flops.

Christmas Thor

Cute rotten little mongrel. The Little Hooman left today to do her holiday visiting so we did presents with her last night. The cats have had their own bows for a while because they just steal them anyway. Naturally he was still actively involved in the opening & bow wrangling. This evening he's successfully snatched a plastic single serve cake container that was stashed for recycling.

Thor & Hestia

I had so many hits for my new furkids, I figured a blog would be a great place to keep those interested up to date with photos and antics.   First, a little history on how these little muffins came into my life. Sunday afternoon, Honey (my headship) and I were coming back from doing some running around.  We pulled into the carport to the sounds of a loud by tiny "mew".  I walked around the house but couldn't readily see the kitten, I assumed it was a larger one given the noise and the fact that it was under the house.  I waited a bit, checked back and found a tiny black baby had crawled from underneath into the weeds and cana stalks.  He was little little, his umbilical cord was still attached, but dried up.  I brought him in for Honey to see but he suggested I take him back out in case mom had only gone looking for food.  I put him back where I found him with a bowl of mik for mom.  A few hours later not only had mom never showed, there were two more littles in the weeds!  I gathered them up, made up a box, and put them under the carport while I went to the store for milk & a bottle.  I fed them twice that evening and night and left food for mom.  The next morning the food was gone but the kitten nest looked as though it had never been disturbed.  I don't believe mom came back, if she did...she officially abandoned them that night. Inside they came.  I had already named one in my head, Hestia, even though I wasn't sure if the first one I'd found was male or female.  Once I sorted out what they were, the boys became Thor and Loki, Loki being the runt of the three with a big voice.   I took care of them Monday morning and came home at midday to check on them and feed.  They all seemed to be ok, although getting them to eat was a challenge.  I'd noticed Little Loki didn't have the same strength the other two had and tried to make sure he got his share and more.  My biggest worry is that he wasn't pottying at all...not even to tee tee like the other two did.  That evening I tried again to get him to eat like his brother and sister but he was still weak.  That night he barely took in anything so I laid him on the warmest part of the nest hoping he was just cold still.  I don't know how long they'd been under the house.  I checked on them just before bed and found he'd died.  His brother and sister had cuddled up on him to keep him warm.  My wonderful husband got out of bed to dig a tiny grave for him.  He's running on the Rainbow Bridge.  That just made me more determined to help the others thrive.  The others are on a pretty solid schedule and are tiny but healthy.   These little add two more to our zoo:  3 fish, 2 turtles, 2 dogs, 2 old grouchy cats and a pair of horses at my father in laws farm.  The older cats are not interested in the kittens...Texi-the Old Man-will warm up once they are worth playing with.  But Princess...well, the name says it all.  She's far too diva to mess with children-feline or otherwise.  So here we are, Day 3, they've fluffed out a bit, and chubbed up a bit as well.  I hope you enjoy!

Kitten Naps

The last 48 hours have been a trial for South Louisiana, and we're not out of the woods yet. Our home has been dry but many around us aren't so lucky. Please keep us in your thoughts.  What to do when it's pouring rain??? Nap!

Thor Baby Window Kitten

He's a witchy window kitteh!  Growing, pouncing, snuggling, biting, meowing, trilling.... Cat. It's really funny though, jumping up- no  problem. Jumping down? A little clumsy.  He's not the catiest cat but he's pretty good for having a hooman mommy.  He really likes inspecting tools & helping with art projects.

Not A baby, mama

Dis mornin I sat on my mama while she looked at the big light box. She was very warms & gave me nice pets. When the Princess & that dog thing come from outside their fur is cool & schmells different.  My fur is poofy but it itches sometimes.  Mama gived me a hooman bath. I didn't like it but I stopped being itchy.  I'm going to play wif my sparkly ball.  T. Winchestor III

Thor's Potential Mama

I was cleaning out my phone the other day and found pics of the kitty we think may be Thor & Co.'s mother.  She was a wild looking little doll baby when we got her.  My friend found her in the engine compartment of her neighbors car and brought her to the office.  After a day of phone calls and research, no shelter in town would take yet another female kitten.  Thankfully she was several weeks old and weaned so we were able to feed her and tend to her.  She had several marks on her and her lower lip was badly damaged from heaven only knows.  We took her home as my friend is allergic to cats and had new dachshund puppies.  I immediately told my daughter "don't name her!  she's temporary!"  Three days and some kitten snuggles later, Tee Chat, Little Cat, Sookie, Witchy Kitty, KittenKitten had made a home.  My husband was enthralled with her.  She had the same long graceful face and lean body that Thor has.  And she had a similar sing songy meow...Thor doesn't "meow" or "mow" or "row"....he meow-wow-wow's.  or brrrrwowwow, always like he's asking a question.  She trilled more than anything and he trills a lot too.  She never got the hang of the litter box.  I'd made sure to introduce her immediately and kept it clean but she would still pee on towels.  I gave up an left old towels down but then it became anything she decided she needed to potty on throughout the house.  Nothing was safe.  By this point she was big and fierce so outside she went.  She never came back to our house to live but she has been a neighborhood kitty since.  We live behind two restaurants so we have plenty of chubby random cats.  When I found the babies it had been a long while since we'd spotted her. The house theory is that she knew our home and us.  So if she just couldn't take care of them, or figured our house was the best place to give birth, that's what she did.  Their mama didn't come claim them that first night and never came back around that we noticed.  So either she died shortly after (heaven forbid) or she just wasn't interested...either way, Thor is thriving.  So I introduce KittenKitten:  do you think there's a family resemblance?

Thought it was time to change my avatar to a guinea pig who was actually mine!! This is Fudge, the first piggie I ever had, and sadly the first one to die. She was very "talkative" and I haven't had one as talkative since.
