Flower mandala

Here's the first page I colored in my new coloring book. It's called "Zauberhafte Gartenträume" ("Magical Garden Dreams") in German; don't think there's an English version. The book has some really pretty pages, but everything is veeery intricate! I went with a rainbow theme here. It was a lot of fun to color, but I don't love the way it turned out.

Enchanted Forest IV

I like how this one came out. Actually, this one would have been nice with those metallic pencil crayons they sell at Chapters, but last time I was there they were sold out, and I wasn't going to put colouring on hold till I could get out there again (I'm doing all the pages in order). The next one's spread across two pages, and I've already decided it's going to have a Valentine's theme. So prepare for a visual assault of pink, red and purple.

Sweary coloring books

I'm not sure I'm allowed to post this here but... the much talked about Sweary Coloring Book: Swear Word Colouring Book for Adults is currently free on amazon (kindle/download version). Just for all the people who haven't purchased it yet. (and now i'm finding lots of free kindle coloring books *send rescue ferrets*)

Mystic Mandala #5

Same book of Mystic Mandalas (I have a habit so far of starting at the beginning of books and working in order).    Another enjoyable experience.  My trusty CraZ Art colored pencils in the 72 count.  I played a bit with shading and a bit of blending.  Green without purple this time.

steampunk and gardens

Yay for coloring! I think this may be my one and only steampunk picture (was a sample) because omg that was horrible to color. which may or may not have a lot to do with only using my 12 mini stabilo pens. not for large coloring areas . I did my peacock (secret garden book?) at the end of last year and am very happy with it.   And I haven't touched this one since Christmas but am hoping to soon (its a bit crappy quality photo sorry). It is going to be hard to find a nic

Flower Mandala

I haven't been coloring very much lately.  My vision is blurry all the time again and it makes coloring frustrating and hard.   I haven't been posting much, as a result, though the two are not really mutually exclusive since I have tons of pages in waiting to be posted.   I decided to post this one here rather than my personal blog because it's the first one I've done where I've deliberately used shading thanks to the tutorial that was posted here.  This is also o

New Flowers

All of you make me feel so very amateurish, but I am enjoying my night-time coloring and it calms me down.  I haven't had time yet to try daytime coloring, but I'll get there eventually.  This is my second page of the "Flowers" coloring book that I bought; I know there is some scribbling, I guess I called myself "shading" but that's not what I accomplished.  Oh well.

Compass

Finished another page from Enchanted Forest. This one is/was my favourite so far! I was going to colour in the background of the compass, but I was too afraid to ruin it.

Pandas & Curious Creatures

Here's one from the Curious Creatures book, my second favorite coloring book after Creative Cats.  I really enjoy coloring all the strange little critters!  Another inside photo, alas. The outdoor ones look better, but I don't have time to do that right now.  Prismas, Copics, Winsor & Newton markers.

It's 7:30 in the morning

So why not post my latest creation! I just finished this one up last night.  I've been ridiculously busy the past week or two, which is why I haven't had time to color.  But last night, I put on The Bachelor, and finished this page and got a start on another page!   This is from Enchanted Forest, using my prismacolor scholar pencils.

F*ck!

I bought this new coloring book, The Sweary Coloring Book for Adults, and I love it! Of course, my first page is fuck.  I used Sakura metallic gelly roll pens. This was a great way to get myself back into coloring.

Mystic Mandala that may have an old wallpaper vibe.

Partway through this one, I thought, 'you know, it sort of reminds me of old, ugly wall paper.'  The thought more or less stuck.  I like it (even with the mental old, ugly wall paper name in my head) When I first saw the page, I was thinking, greens and flowers.  However when I actually started it the center color choices sort of set the mood for the rest and I challenged myself, once the purple crept in, to not use green.   And oops, the photo is off center.   Mystic Mandalas and CraZ

Artist Cat

A  lot of stressful things have been going on around here, but I have been coloring when I can.  Took the photo of this page indoors so it's not the best, but wanted to get a page posted...it's been awhile. Have several others finished also. This is with my trusty Prismas, Copics, and Winsor & Newton ProMarkers from Creative Cats.

I do have a life, I swear!

I was embarrassed by my bombardment of this blog so I didn't post this after I completed it about a week ago. But now I'm in Florida and am having wine with my husband and thought, oh, what the hell. It's from the Secret Garden Artist's Edition again.  I really love colouring these pages. They are so THICK! I love the bird and his house but the squirrel looks like crap.

My first mandala and a funny story

I've done a few pages in my garden coloring book, but I decided to try out  my mandala coloring book last night.  The picture quality isn't great.  I was happy with how it turned out, except I wish the blues I used had a little more contrast.  In the small space, they ended up looking more similar than I had hoped. Now for the funny story.  I'm working from home today because some asshat stole my car.  So I've been calling into meetings, putting the phone on speaker and mute, and coloring d

I'm a colorist now!

Hey!  I'm a cool kid now! I got a coloring book and some nice colored pencils for Christmas.  I'm pretty slow, but here's my first picture!

Found a great website!

I found a website called  www.thecolor.com with lots of free printable pages. I liked the famous paintings section. It had hundreds to choose from with a wide variety.

I need to take some photos

I need to take some photos of stuff I've done (which hasn't been much recently. I did just do this on Inkscape though (i used the filler, then deleted the 'picture' and thats why there are the white lines. the random white dots are the numbers that i can't be bothered to get rid of. It's a dover(i think) color-by-number sample out of a flower book. If you didn't know - you can sign up to get printable samples from their books every week.

More owls 'cause owls are awesome!

... and also because the Owl book is the only coloring book I currently own (though I just ordered my second one today). This is my first try with colored pencils. I am actually really, really happy with the result. I still haven't made up my mind about whether or not I want to color the background. I'm kind of afraid of ruining the whole page. I think I'll just leave it be for now, but any input is appreciated!

Wishing I had a dollar for every time I burped on my back porch after dark and set off a neighbor's dog. The best part is that I'm sure everyone think it's my BF and not me, because it's surely not possible such a huge noise could come out of my body.
