This goes against psychiatric and psychological codes of ethics. You don’t claim to be a licensed psychologist, but as setting yourself up as a teacher and advisor on psychological issues, you surely are aware that this conduct goes against the “Goldwater rule” (“It is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination”) and the APA Ethics Code, which exhorts psychologists to “provide opinions of the psychological characteristics of individuals only after they have conducted an examination of the individuals adequate to support their statements or conclusions.” You assure your readers many times that you are not making an official medical diagnosis, but these ethical guidelines aren’t about making a diagnosis, they’re about giving an opinion.

Gee, I guess it's a good thing Cindy Kunsman isn't a psychiatrist or psychologist and isn't claiming otherwise. 🙄

Jill... stop using your three year old as a photographer and invest in a tripod! I don't know why this annoys me so much but it does!

I feel a bit like it's unfair that they all get cancelled whenever they promote anything, when the bates continue to promote/be sponsored by various other companies and they literally share the same beliefs. It made sense with Jessa and Jinger since they seem to have become more health conscious over the years, and I'd rather see them promoting healthy eating over skinny tea or other detox scams.

My major takeaway from that letter is just how narcissistic these women are and how much their self-assessment is out of step with reality (something I've suspected since that wedding with armchairs on the dais waiting to gift their guests with their superior knowledge).

Ladies, you are mid-list notable within the Reformed world, and slipping down in the ranks with each year. No one in the secular world has any idea of who you are. Hell, half the posters on Free Jinger, a discussion forum devoted to patriarchal religious movements, have zero idea who you are.

A blog can't do that much damage to your reputation, since you didn't have that much of a "reputation" to begin with.

As someone who is constantly inspired by books, movies, and TV shows when I'm producing my own work, I find the "stifling creativity" line to be bullshit. Do they think creativity exists in a vacuum? Do they think that any idea that's not completely original is not truly creative? It is my belief that no media is completely original, and always has some small influence from other media. His goal wasn't to encourage creativity, he wanted to stifle it. He wanted to narrow their worldview and brainwash them.

      What a bunch of liars.

And it's not as though these kids were/are big readers or exposed to works of art or storytelling, either. So they can spare me their "stifling creativity" bullshit. They wanted drones and that's what they got.

I had to put my 17 year old cat down yesterday. She was with me through my awful first marriage and she's been with me most of my adult life. She declined so fast and I know I did the right thing. It's just so hard. I have three other cats and other animals but it's amazing just how empty the house feels. I'm trying to figure out what my new normal is now.

I hate working.  I hate it. Even at the best of times, I don't want to be there.  I loathe the attitude of "I'm always right" and "I have a great memory " my boss has.  She forgets a lot. Like to pay my medical stipend without me reminding her. Or to pay us once. Those are big un's. All the little things add up too. I haven't suddenly gone crazy, it's her.
      God, I hate work.

I am fantasizing about left over fajitas from last night (super yummy if I do say so myself.)
if only they made a container by which I could bring food to work with me so I don’t go 24 hours between meals.
maybe someday I’ll be less of a dumbass and actually plan ahead.

We finally decided to move into the place we have been debating. @HerNameIsBuffy It looks like it’s working out for both of us-you took the new job and we’re taking the new place. ❤️
I’m a bit overwhelmed since we are moving in 4 days but push has come to shove and we will get through it.
