That sounds to me like someone who is shy and anxious, therefore has trouble with social situations, getting teased by her family for not dating and therefore deciding that dating isn't what God wants anyway.

I really do think that she does a lot of this stuff as a defense mechanism for her anxiety issues. I'd bet that it seems more acceptable to say she wants to stay at home to be a housewife than because of the anxiety.

Is is what she does because it's what I did when I was into the Messianic movement. It's all just a cover-up to justify behavior that was already going on beforehand.

Shina, I think if you have more than one cat and/or don't shave your legs, it might cancel out the pretty lingerie possession. :)

P.S. - Don't hate on Andrea. She's not that bad. More like Fundy-Lite.

Isn't she the one who got pregnant 3 seconds after getting married? Or am I thinking of somebody else? I miss her old blog.

She did get pregnant pretty fast after she got married. But she's cool, she's more of a hippie-fundy rather than a "damn them all to hell" fundy.

I very rarely come out of my lurkdom, but I will for this. I was reading the posts a bit earlier in the thread and I feel your pain. Wearing a "speciality size" bra is tough. I'm short and have a large band with a huge cup. It seems to me that bra manufacturers think women can have EITHER a large frame/band size OR a large cup. I have both.

There is a New England based retail chain that I find has a large variety of sizes and styles. I've found some decent bras through them. There is, however, one of their actual retail shops I won't go to because I've had bad experiences with the ladies there trying to force me into the wrong size. *cough*Brookline*cough* If you know your size and what you want, it is a great website. I don't know what any of my fellow FJers might consider expensive, but since I rarely find bras in my size for less than $50 or so, my perspective is skewed. They often have sales, if that's helpful.

Anyway, I'm just putting this out there if anyone wants to check out this source. http://ladygrace.com/

Wow... funny that the shortest post in a while inspires the most questions.

1) Why did she marry him - being really superficial for a moment but putting it delicately, she is... out of his league shall we say.

2) Why, why is his shirt unbuttoned so far?

3) WHY on earth do they not have pictures of themselves? Not from weddings or holidays or anything? She had time to take a picture of their etrog with her nice manicure but they couldn't be bothered to snap a wedding photo or two?

I am so confused...

OMGosh, you are right! WTF? That's TT??!??! Wow.

Except for me, the ladies at victoria's secret are always so hell bent on making a sale, that they try to convince me that I can squeeze my 34 DD/D (depends on my time of the month if you catch my drift) into a 38C.....

I hate how my size precludes me from finding ANY cute bras in department stores. When I'm lucky to find one, its always what I refer to as "army surplus". You get your choice of beige, white, or black. Nothing pretty, nothing sexy with a matching panty set with which to defraud my headship. :sad-teareye

VS is one of the WORST for trying to convince people to buy the wrong size, in my experience. They pretend band size does not matter! And so many young women start going there initially for lingerie, no wonder they are all in bad fitting bras years later. The VS catalogue is like a picture show of badly fitting bras.

Yeah, I get it. There are TONS of beautiful bras for us bigger breasted ladies out there though. Where do you live? I know in the US Nordstoms carries Freya, Betsey Johnson, etc for larger breasted ladies (and they are very defrauding!). They often have sales too. Otherwise, yes, you might be stuck with online or specialty bra shops. I personally have my best luck with Chantelle bras as the way the cup sits works for me and I like the shape they give me. Not cheap (usually around $80-100 a pop), but very feminine and defrauding.

As I said, I have not bought a bra from a department store since I was a teenager (about 16 or 17 years ago).

I have had good luck on occasion with the Macy's clearance rack. There will be no 34DD's on the regular displays, but somehow they make it to clearance. It was easier when I worked there; my time was divided 1/2 in lingerie and 1/2 in children's (I did a short time in PR as well on a contract basis, another story) so I could browse while putting things away.

Our training to be a *bra fitting specialist* or whatever they called it was a 20 minute video. Indeed.

Had to chime in on the bra discussion. I'm a 30E/F, and I had a horrendous time til I got to college and scoured the internet. Figleaves.com was originally just a UK site, which has bras starting at something insane like 28L. (I can't picture that woman, but I feel awful for her!) They have pretty ones, and underwired bathing suits, and I got a gorgeous underwired babydoll from there, which is a piece of lingerie I thought I'd never own, given the way the busts are. I still use the uk site instead of the us, (check the address bar and change it) because it had a greater range of sizes, and even after international shipping and pounds to dollars conversion, it's cheaper. I am a huge bra sizing advocate, and I send everyone there. :-)

Don't post much, but couldn't let that pass. Carry on with the Lina snark! :-D

Now do you have a supplier of pretty not too expensive bras in sizes which you could fit in half a house in each cup? Also a firm support sports bra for huge boobies too?

If you do I'll be your BFF.

I try and order most of my bras from herroom (http://www.herroom.com/), freshpair (http://www.freshpair.com/?CID=SEM-C&9gt ... 1936230317), figleaves.com or Nordstroms (the latter often has sales). I am in Canada, but often it is still cheaper to pay duty and shipping to get them then it is to buy here.

I run about 6-7 miles everyday as well as do other athletic activities, and while I know many like the Enell and swear by it, I hated how it felt on my breasts and comfort wise. I prefer something with a blend of compression and encapsulation (the latter is better for your breasts, too, as compression can affect the milk ducts, etc). After years of searching for the perfect bra, I found the Shock Absorber Run bra works perfect for me, they also have a Max bra I have heard good things about. They do fit very tight...I actually have a 32 rather than a 30 because of that. It is the first time I have been able to get away without having to double up on bras, ever. However, I am not sure what they go up to in cup size, to be honest.

I know other much bigger breasted women like the Freya active bra (which has underwire), but I think it is encapsulation only (which may work great for you and the underwire adds more support).

That being said, I am not dissing the Enell bra. Many very large breasted women have said it was the only thing that worked for them (much like the Shock Absorbers are the only thing that worked for me).

If they don't maybe you can find something similar. I have the E bra (for my DDDs) and I think I could have possible gone down a size and really held the boobs in. It's a great bra though, I run in it 3-5 times a week and it's still going strong almost a year after purchasing it.

The one I have, I can't get hold of any more. It's similar but not quite as firm by the looks of things. It's pretty much on it's last legs as sweat rots it eventually. I've seen others but they are no way as supportive, my boobs still bounce all over and when I wear a chest guard they end up getting very sore.

@kitten

ETA: Here is a list of online/catalog suppliers - several of which are in the UK!

The ShockAbsorber bra is the one I have now. They have, as far as I can tell, discontinued the particular one I have. Not only that the fit isn't that great. I have to squeeze the girls into a smaller cup but that is the biggest cupsize they have. An underwired one is no good for martial arts; if I catch a punch there it hurts like hell if you are wearing wires. I'm going to check otu the Enell one I think. It might be worth investing in a couple of them for training sessions.

It's hard to find them in small sizes anymore too. Except they might come in the cutesy patterns for the 'juniors' or even pink!

I'm 19 fucking years old, I'm not a little girl, I don't want to be 'cute'.

My mother wore a AA until she broke down and got implants. She is 5'11"!!! She had a horrible time finding shirts and dresses that fit, let along bras. She said it only became difficult after she became a professional. Back when she was a hippie, she just went without bras and wore ill-fitting tops.

Are you all in the US/Canada?

in the UK a company called Bravissimo is very good - and they do international delivery

http://www.bravissimo.com/

I adore the shops - as a 32F its just lovely to be able to go into a shop and try on pretty things that fit and have a fitter who doesnt try and persuade you that a 36D is the best subsitute. The bras also dont look as though theyve been designed by an industrial engineer from 50s soviet russia. They also do a range of clothes that are cut to allow for larger busts so for the first time in years Ive been able to wear a buttoned shirt that fitted on the shoulders and didnt gape.

Figleaves is also very good and has great swimwear and maternity bra selections, and really caters to smaller chest sizes

I am not connected to either of these companies btw: I just think its great that in the last few years here there seems to have been a change and companies have accepted that women with larger breasts not only exist, but would like to feel comfy and confident too

The weird thing about bras is that everywhere you look in the media there are small-ish women with huge boobs. It should not be so hard to find a reasonable 34DD. That is probably what most of the big stars right now wear!

Why do so many bras have a tiny fucking bow in the front? I hate the bow. The bow can go to Hartford, Hereford and Hampshire if you know what I mean.

I am rather older than 19, but would like to second the difficulties in shopping for small-sized bras. I do not want to have more sweat-soaked foam and padding than breast tissue on my chest, and when I wear bras intended for little girls, it makes my husband uncomfortable.

TT is NOT ATTRACTIVE. Lina definitely "settled" with this one. My husband's no Adonis (I call him my chubby hubby wubby), but TT is just...yuck. And he needs to button up that shirt, it is NOT frum!

Yes, I forgot to suggest bravissimo!

I like that they are also recognizing that small band sizes may have large breasts (even natural ones) and that big breasted womedn do not want to wear matronly bras just because they have large breasts!

32G here. Nordstrom is my BFF.

Every time I think I'm done growing in the mammary area, I go shopping and find I've gone up a cup size. I'm a size 8 other than the girls. Honestly, bra/bathing suit-shopping can bite my left one.

Same here, really, but for the opposite reason. My waist and hips make it difficult to fit into an XS, but if I wear an S it won't fit my boobs at all. It's insanely difficult to find XS tops. ESPECIALLY bathing suit tops. I hate shopping for bathing suits. And bras. And shirts.

Those Shock Absorber bras look nice - I'll have to try one of them. I'm actually not that big, but I have what the mammographer gently refers to as "dense" breast tissue, meaning those suckers are HEAVY. Plain old compression sports bras don't work for me - I need the encapsulation, or I'm in agony the next day. Regular bras, I mostly stick with underwire.

I remember "failing" the pencil test about two months after the girls first appeared, and thinking "THIS is what I have to carry around with me for the rest of my life?" HA - no going braless for me, and no cute swimsuits with skimpy little straps. I wear racerbacks or underwires.

I would give anything to "go without," but that just ain't gonna happen. Has nothing to do with modesty, either - it's just too darned uncomfortable. :x

My pet peeves - 1) When they started making women's blouses/shirts without darts. Everything kinda bunches up on the sides. I know you can still find them here and there, but you have to actually go looking for them, and they usually cost more. 2) When they started making those stupid bras with the preformed cups. They never fit, and I look ridiculous in them. Even in the specialty stores, they seem to outnumber "regular" cups about 10-1 now. I can't wait for the trend to switch back to regular fabric cups.
