that is most likely just a stand in date it's Siah's birthday. they did the same with Joy's wedding. most likely it will be some time next month probably after Lauren turns 19. her birthday is may 18th

Of course, just like with Joy's wedding, though, if they do indeed have the wedding on the roughly 3 month post engagement schedule the other weddings have been on, the media are all going to start speculating that the "change" was because Lauren's obviously pregnant! Or other such nonsense. Which, I mean, no. They were pretty clear that it was a place-holder date for Joy and Austin, so why did the media ignore that?  To sell magazines/tabloids/whatever. Saying that the announced date is deliberately fake is evidently less "news-worthy" than "date had to be changed because...scandal!"

So putting *any* date out there is likely to cause speculation about why the real date doesn't match the announced temp date. *sigh* In this case, I agree with what they're doing in principle, I mean, I wouldn't want a media circus I had no control over at my wedding like happened at Jinger's, but there's no way they can win this one.

Guess I need to pick up the newspaper daily and start checking the wedding license applications.
Anna was 20 when she got married. her and Josh got engaged on her 20th Birthday.  Joy at least was 19 and a half when she got married. ( I guess that's something) Kendra got married less then a month after her birthday and I fear the same will happen with Lauren.
Didn't Anna's father tell Josh be had to wait until she was 20? And he crashed her 20th birthday dinner with her parents at the seafood restaurant...

My understanding is he didn't crash it. It was actually planned in advance with at least Anna's dad, the problem was that they were supposed to be sitting outside on the nice patio overlooking the water, in an area that may have had lights strung up, etc. (However rain forced them to eat inside, which is how he ended up proposing to her in that weird corner area. So I'll give him just enough credit to note that it was supposed to be a bit of a nicer location, but not enough credit to note that he went ahead with it (but he was determined to do it on her birthday, so...) And definitely no credit for doing it at all!

(The fact that Anna and her mother were both wearing the same pink and white striped shirts, on the other hand...)

In terms of the location, the restaurant is currently called Corky Bell's Seafood & Steaks at Gator Landing. I've included a bunch of pics in the spoiler below to show where Josh did end up proposing (warning for one pic including Josh), a couple more interior shots to shot this is the correct location, and a bunch showing the outdoor area where he *intended* to propose, which was indeed nicer and actually out on the water. (All pics except the one of J&A snagged from photos uploaded to the restaurant's TripAdvisor listing - https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g34527-d5555530-Reviews-Corky_Bell_s_Seafood-Palatka_Florida.html)

Interior shots (warning for blurry pic of Josh, Anna, and the adult Kellers):

So yeah. Not *good*, but if it had actually been a nice enough day for it to have taken place outdoors it would have been a little more festive and a little less rushed and casual feeling, I suspect.

Like @scribble said, Marjorie goes to John Brown University, not Bob Jones. John Brown University, while certainly conservative evangelical Christian, is not a fundie college, and is indeed quite academically rigorous. Definitely not comparable to fundie colleges like PCC, Clown College or BJU.

By the way, Jinger and Jeremy got married at John Brown University's chapel (Cathedral of the Ozarks). Too bad the Duggars would never let their kids attend.

BJU is regionally accredited. I know a public school teacher and a lawyer who did their undergrad there. PCC and Crown are nationally accredited by TRACS.

PCC's engineering program is accredited by ABET...any person applying for an engineering job has to have a degree from an ABET recognized program. PCC's nursing program is also accredited by the appropriate governing body.

Anna actually had decided at some point prior to meeting Josh that she would set as a goal to not get married prior to 20 (WTF kind of goal is that?).  I think she also wanted to make sure she had finished her 2 yr degree (I believe in child care/education from some Christian school).

Both Josiah and Josh look really young in that video.  They both aged a lot in the past few years.  I also find it completely ironic that Josh is talking about dating with a purpose when he has two AM accounts and is tying to have sex without commitment with porn stars/exotic dancers.

Josiah is only 15 months older than my son, and I was just noticing last night how grown up he looks, even from just 2 years ago, the change in him from 18 to 20 I literally posted a pic of him on my FB last night, crying about "my baby boy" he looks so mature now. This is the same thing with Si, he went from a teenager to a young man since Marjorie.

Have you ever heard of "single service"? That might have been the case with Anna. A lot of fundies I know (used to know?), and I think it started with Bill Gothard, commit to "single service" where they focus on solely serving the Lord til a certain age. It's different for everyone, but I have heard about people committing to it til anywhere from age 21 to 28.

Yes, I pointed that out in some thread not too long ago when we were talking about Katie Bates looking into nursing. But PCC as a whole is TRACS accredited.

Maybe they deleted it because people + the media always speculate on the date and maybe they just don’t want another fiasco a la Joy’s “Premarital pregnancy”.

Pretty sure it doesn’t mean they broke up though, DFO just posted a pic of them today (the page isn’t letting me upload it for some reason)

Can’t help you there. That’s what the state’s website says.

That patio still looks like a fugly place to propose.

I may be in the minority here but I wouldn't give a shit where I was proposed to if it was the right person doing it.

Um, unless it was in like a public bathroom.  Then I would give a shit.

I was wondering if anyone had any idea, or wanted to speculate, on where Josiah and Lauren are going to live when they're married? Jessa and Ben still have the tiny mould house, and presumably aren't moving, leaving Joseph stuck with extensively renovating the unfinished house on their property.

As far as I know this only leaves their larger "guest" houses, which don't really seem suitable for newlyweds, especially as Derick keeps on going on about the rent Jim Bob charging being too expensive. I think Jim Bob is at the start of some real trouble as he marries off this unending series of boys, who aren't allowed mortgages or jobs outside the family business.

Are they not allowed mortgages? I know they follow some "money guru" but I thought only the Maxhellians had to be completely debt free.

Living debt-free is one of the major tenets of Gothard's "basic life principles." Example: JB had to get Derick's word that he would never go into debt fixing a broken car before he was allowed to get his hands on Jill.

Grandma Mary no longer owns the mold house. Jessa and Ben do. There was a bunch of property transfers last summer and that’s when Benessa ended up with the deed to the house. Cousin Amy and her husband ended up with the deed to their home at that time too (also a former Grandma Mary property.)

I’m 99.99% sure that’s JimBob.

The Duggars own numerous rental houses (close to 20 the last time I checked), more than enough for all of the remaining kids.

I'd say the Josiah-Lauren wedding watch is officially on. I can't remember what weekend I originally guessed, though. If her birthday is May 18th, I could see them thinking it would be 'so sweet' to have the wedding on her birthday. And that would fit in perfectly with the trend toward Friday weddings. It would also be just over a month before Kendra is due to give birth, thus (mostly) avoiding the possibility of her going into labour and having a newborn at the time. So I'm going to guess May 18th.
