notice they don't mention the fact that the midwife she learned under had her license stripped and it was stripped before Jill took her test so I don't see how even that test could be legit. since Jill's hours would be wiped out.

I kept waiting for them to mention that too, but they never even named the person she studied under. I’m not surprised though, People magazine loves the Duggars.

The talk about Gideon’s look towards Austin a few posts back reminded me of the pic of him and Joy they also released recently :my_biggrin:  he knows exactly which family he was born into... that side eye though lol

That picture does nothing but emphasize how young Joy is, for me.

Watching Joy and Austin's honeymoon episodes. I kind of like them better now. The pre wedding shows were so tedious. The hang gliding looked like so much fun. Glad they were able to do that.

I’m not gonna read the articles, I’ve read them before; I somehow got on their mailing list years ago. But I will say that as a c-sections only fundie/fundie-lite,  those articles make me so upset. I actively speak against them.

Thank you for that. I love my church but I have been hurt in church circles before because of people getting super judgy over c-sections.  No, I didn't have a home birth with a pool and a dollar, and my attempted VBAC failed. But you know what? I had an awesome doctor for my c-sections and we're all alive and well.

Individual states issue licenses.  NARM grants the CPM cert, and NARM didn't care that Venessa Giron nearly killed a child since she continued to meet all the requirements to remain a CPM.  So the work Jill completed as her mentee counted toward her CPM.

However, the loss of her midwife mentor is the likely reason Jill never pursued licensure in AR.

Parenting advice? From a girl with a newborn and two first time pregnant moms? I could not roll my eyes harder

Might as well ask Audry Roloff on her opinion on parenting a teenager while they’re at it.

I believe Josh sought out affairs to have types of *blegh* "intimacy" that Anna would not be interested in trying. He may have certain kinks that he wanted to explore with others that would be willing.

Anna may just be a little miss kinky boots but we will never know. Neither will Josh because its not what he believes  - he married a good girl therefore she is a good girl and you cannot do things like that with a good girl (we all know better :)).  So off he went to find a bad girl/s who would allow that side of him to be free. How very sad that neither of them are able to have this level of intimacy in their shitty fundie marriage because they are both missing out. It should be your safe place to share and explore your kinks together - we all have something and come on its been 10 years already! 50 years of boring sex is your punishment in life Josh. Poor Anna... although hopefully she just doesnt know what she is missing! ETA I damn near choked when i saw my post title LOL love it!

On Josh's Ashley Madison profile, the various things he had listed looking for were decidedly vanilla. It really didn't seem like he was out to satisfy kinks that he couldn't with Anna - it seems like he just wanted extramarital sex (or at least the fantasy of it).

Or maybe he just wanted vanilla sex that wouldn't lead to quivers. Which was no guarantee with Anna. Josh does NOT want 20 kids. I don't even think he wanted 5. I bet he was like what we suspect Jeremy is like- wants a larger-than-average family to be a respectable conservative Christian family and further his career goals, but not an overwhelming amount. I'm sure he loves his kids, but if he only had 2 more or so I bet he'd be relieved. The cheating is hypocritical, pathetically so after the loyalty song, and Josh should've put on his big boy pants and divorced Anna/left the cult if he was that unhappy, but I can still understand his motive.

The molestations are of course on an entirely different level.

I should have added that fundy kinky is probably not the average persons or my own definition lol but i saw another comment that did make me wonder if they would feel free to explore more than the missionary (haha) in their marriages. Why I am wondering about this at all I dont quite know...

Joy looks GREAT in that photo! Wow! The whole situation is sad for me....she hasn't been able to explore life and experience so many life experiences and most likely never will. If this is what makes her happy, then I'm happy for her but it seems so sad to me. But she really does look great and Giddy is a cute baby!

I watched the Joy birth special and at one point during the home birth you see the back of a blonde head who Im guessing was the main midwife. Didn't have a chance to screenshot it.

The one I always remember because it made me laugh so hard over how sad it was - "bubble bath for two" Like, that's not hard to accomplish. At all.

Back to US Magazine - I wonder if MEchelle is sad that no one seems to be asking her for parenting advice?

To be honest, I've asked myself the exact same question a lot of times. I always thought everything that is fine for the husband is okay in the bedroom. Since women are only there to fulfill their men's desires.

Everything except birth control of course.

But what if birth control is what the man desires?

Then Satan may be building a fortress in his heart and it may lead to a porn addiction! :naughty:

What boring articles. But then again, what pointless stories anyway. Wow, surprise, fundie Christian women who don't use birth control in their late teens/early 20s are super fecund and expecting/having babies. Breaking News! Joy cried when Gideon was born. Breaking News #2, newborn is growing and changing every day! No way!

Austin does strike me as somebody with a good work ethic so I can see him being helpful with the baby. May help postpone Joy's laundry room breakdown to like kid #7.

I wonder if it's less People tiring them, and more the Duggars' choice. People mag has been more critical of their decisions lately, and so I wonder if that's prompting the Duggars to switch.

I really hope that headline is wrong and that Vanessa didn't really use her five year old daughter as a pawn like that.

Being single and not having kids I'm not sure how applicable this question is, but I do have to wonder, could Josh actually have been thinking of wanting a bubble bath for two WITHOUT kids around, and feeling like his kids were always there and more of the center of Anna's attention, regardless of how much he may or may not love them? So he really just wanted some attention specifically for HIM and another adult female?

Not to say that I'm condoning Josh's cheating on Anna in the slightest, but he may not have felt he could ask Anna for that, particularly given the fairly toxic conception of masculinity IBLP promotes (even though he should have been able and willing to talk to his wife about it if my speculation of his wants were the case)?

Ugh. Now I feel vaguely like I'm defending Josh. Shower time. Final thought, he should never have lied to Anna about anything to do with their relationship!
