Lori Alexander 35: Closing Windows Because of the Fires

Lori had better hope all she has to do is close her windows. Those fires move FAST. And Ken is away on vacation, who's going to carry her makeup bag for her?

My mother has a friend in assisted living in Escondido. They were in the Navy together back in the 1950s and have kept in touch ever since. The Lilac fire is about seven or eight miles away, as far as I can figure by looking at Google Map. Mom called her this evening but only got the answering machine. I told Mom she was probably just at dinner, but they may have evacuated the place just to be on the safe side. We're hoping that's the case, it would be hard to get a whole nursing home full of people out of there in just a couple of minutes. Which is likely all the time they'd have. :my_cry:

Ken is back... two responses on the FB post. I guess Lori has been punished enough.

I saw the IG story and was appalled at her statement. She is seriously lacking in empathy and compassion.

Lori and Ken are okay. She's closing windows but has no plans yet on how to help.

Update: Lori deleted my mother from the chat room. It's a sign from God that we shouldn't hang out with Lori. Here's my last screenshot of the chat room.

So today in Lori land, her whole post is just her explaining an episode of Petticoat Junction that evidently destroys feminism??? Honestly, her posts are just becoming more and more disjointed (not that they were ever clear or well written to begin with). She latches onto anything she can find that shows the "lies of feminism" and doesn't even attempt to make a cogent point with her writing. Just feminism=misery and all that :my_confused:

@Joyce why is she deleting people from the chat room? It doesn’t make any sense. And I can’t believe her flippant response. With a freaking exclamation point at that. She’s a walking personality disorder.

@SueEllenMishke I’m glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t make sense of that blog post. We were rear ended last night- we are fine- but for a moment I thought maybe I was having trouble processing and comprehending.

I notice she didn't answer the question, 'What are your plans in helping those affected by the fires?' :pb_rollseyes:  Because she'll be doing nothing. Zip. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

And omg, today's post.

Billy Jo when asked how to accomplish this feminism: “Assume all of the prerogatives of men. We’ll even stand alone if necessary. The more militant members of the organization recommend complete segregation from men.”

Kate, the mother: “Complete segregation? You mean even including sex and marriage?”

Ok, now, I lived through the 60s. I watched Petticoat Junction. I remember it as being sweet, fluffy, light enough to float away on the slightest breeze. I don't remember this episode, although I'm sure it happened. But did it happen THIS way? Did Kate mention SEX? Out LOUD?

I call shenanigans on this one. :my_dodgy:

Sorry to hear that @Frog99! I really feel like her posts have become more and more difficult to follow. In her early blogging, while I never agreed with her, you could at least make sense of her point. Now its this weird stream of conscious, I saw something on TV so let me write about it, did you know feminism is the worst and feminists don't even know what love is jumbled word salad (but a nourishing word salad, of course).

@Frog99 Lori deletes or blocks a person in the chat room if the latter:

(1) disagrees with her,

(2) asks a question that she disagrees with,

(3) posts or comments about something she does not like,

(4) writes about the chat room on FreeJinger,

Yet it’s titled “Always Learning”... oh, the irony.

How does she figure out who posts on FreeJinger? That would take a whole lot of extra effort I would think- and no guarantee that she’s right.

Her chat room is nothing more than an opportunity for her to live out her mean girl personality in a place where she isn’t called out in it.

I am curious that none of her usuals have been commenting lately.

Oh- she her IG doodle today’s let’s us know why she didn’t go to the Cayman’s... women aren’t supposed to be going here, there, and everywhere.

Proverbs 31:20

Quote

She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

That's what the Biblical ideal of womanhood would do. But instead of opening her arms, Lori closes her windows.

Petticoat Junction?!? I'm 53 and I barely remember that show. (I liked Green Acres better.) It was silly even then and now she's treating it like it was a documentary. Next she'll be doing an in depth analysis of gender stereotypes on Gilligan's Island.

Who am I kidding? Lori does nothing in depth. There is no depth to her.

I am too young for Petticoat Junction but my mom has talked about. I found the episode in question (youtube rocks) So this is what Loveday posted from Lori's blog about the episode:

You are correct, Kate, the mother, didn't say this, she only said something like "segregation?" and then she tells Billy Jo to go segregate herself because she making a mess of her kitchen and spilling bottles for the baby and the baby is crying, etc.

Here is the episode if anyone wants to watch or listen to it

I’m almost certain she is the first person to consider Petticoat Junction a feminist show. Major WTF. And I read the description of that episode, and it says, “It takes a case of reverse psychology to make Bobbie Jo fully understand her life in Hooterville.”  I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that doesn’t involve getting a STEM degree and protesting for the ERA.

Would you post a screen shot of that please.

SMDH because Lori spent 10 freaking weeks in Door County this summer.  Isn't that considered going somewhere.

I call BS on that IG.  LoriKen had a huge fight,. Lori stayed home to pout and Ken went to the Caymans and had tons o' fun without her.

The episode of Petticoat Junction Lori likes so well was written by a woman - Joanna Lee. Lee was a very accomplished writer and producer who won an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She was also a divorced mother (gasp!) and wrote an autobiography titled A Difficult Woman in Hollywood, about the struggle to succeed in a male-dominated industry.

I agree. "I Love Lucy," shortly before this, would not allow the word pregnant. There is no way anyone said "sex".

And of course Lori will not be helping anyone in the fires.

OH BULLSHIT. She was too busy monitoring her chat room/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram to take a beach vacation for a few days. She went to Door County for 10 weeks because there was a. well-established internet service there and b. no bikinis. I don't believe for a minute that she was too sick to go.

Lori says today in her wall o' text

"The rest of this episode shows the ugliness and utter stupidity of feminism.  The devastating effects of feminism are seen on marriages and relationships between men and women as the women used manipulation, pouting, and aggressiveness to get what they want. Watch it and weep for our nation and how blinded even Christian woman have become to the truth of God’s Word and His ways all because the emperor (feminism) had no clothes on but made everyone think he (feminists) did. Feminism takes away all femininity from women and makes them masculine. (The show did end good, however, unlike our culture, since all of the women decided they liked being feminine and treated like a lady by the men! They didn’t enjoy being men and treated like men.)"

I always wondered why I started growing a beard and a penis after converting to feminism.  I've been to so many doctors to try and figure it out.  None could help.  Praise Jesus for Lori, the answer to my prayers.

I loved how she mentioned that God clearly made men and women differently. Bravo for her! This would NEVER be allowed today on TV.

Umm, the Duggars?

Actually.... Hate to break it to you but encouraging women not to talk or ask anything of their husbands actually fosters more passive aggressiveness and pouting in my opinion. Women being manipulative, pouty , and aggressive doesn't have much to do with feminism and more to do with the brokenness of human nature. I've met plenty of pouty, aggressive, manipulative men.

Also being a feminist hasn't destroyed my femininity. I am a female and happy to be so. I just realize that culture plays a huge role in determine what is feminine and masculine.

Heck Lori, you aren't even 100 percent traditionally feminine. You wear pants, you're not meek or gentle, you delete comments written by men, have talked about sex online and poop (not very lady like), you've gossiped about your neighbors, shamed random people, and told lies. Feminism takes away YOUR definition of femininity.

Signed a feminist who wears dresses often, does my hair and makeup, crochets, cooks, bakes, respects men (and women), isn't loud, is encouraging, is pretty gentle, isn't easily angered and studies scripture regularly.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

It is definitely strep skin infection. I am getting so damn tired and run down from this. Who the f would immagine being hospitalized freaking TWICE for a rash?

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
