They posted a video from Pennsicola Christian College with their oldest son singing in it. He's sitting at the very front in the beginning of the video. He has a grayish lavender shirt on. I didn't spot any other fundie boys we know.

Paul Abigail Miller Devony, at what age difference is it morally wrong for two people to be together and who made that rule?

I'm eight years older than my wife. Am I a "predator"? Who says?

My wife's aunt and uncle are 17 years apart and have been happily married for 28 years. Is that wrong? According to what authority?

Your see, there's "wrong" and there's opinion. What you've stated is your opinion, and you're welcome to it. But the moment you take your opinion and judge others by it (especially when you're understanding of the facts is limited) you've done wrong. You have no right to do such a thing. It's not your place. It's any of our places.

God makes the moral rules. Anything outside of them is wrong. Unless you can do that with Judge Moore, you are casting blame when you have no proof. That's wrong.

Quote

Carol, I did act on it. That was when I began to pursue her. Now, I'm old fashioned and believe in going through the parents and that is what happened. It's a long story, but when she was 20 we married.

So was it wrong for me to pursue her when she was 17 and I 25? If so, who says?

Quote

Paul Abigail Miller BTW, I was 25 when I started having an interest in my now wife. She was 17. Was that morally wrong? If so, who says?

OMGWTFBBQ. Paul...Paul. A good defense isn't "but I did it too, therefore it's okay." We're talking about a grown-ass man and a high school student.

My husband is 9 years older than me. If he had pursued me when he was 26 and I was 17, my parents would have shut the door in his face and called the police if he came back. Of course my husband would have had no interest in me at that time because men in their 20s normally aren't interested in teen girls in high school. Paul said a creep and an ass.

I should clarify that I have no issue with age differences in general, but a 17-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man is a power and experience differential that I find extremely uncomfortable, even without sex entering the picture.

My biggest question has always been "what do you have in common?!" I remember being 17 and all I thought about was high school BS and which college I would go to. When I was 25, I graduated from grad school and was job hunting. There's just such a huge difference in interests and maturity that I find it odd when a guy goes for such a young girl.

Man Miller is creepy. I wonder how her parents felt when a 25 year old showed interest in their 17 year old.

I had a classmate in High School who’s sister starting dating her husband when she was 13 & he was 17 back in 1983. Their mother was perfectly fine with it. However, they didn’t get married till her sister was 24 and her husband was 28.

He mentions in the thread that the two didn't marry until she was twenty, which I think is revealing, given that most fundie courtships we know are six months to a year, tops. My brother has a family member (we're half-siblings) who dated a fourteen-year-old, who he eventually married. He molded her into exactly the kind of wife he wanted, and it was (and is) super, super creepy. I just cannot think of a good reason why a man that age would be interested in a girl that young.

My 17-year-old daughter has had a few men in their 20s and 30s act inappropriately with her, including one of her coworkers. Most of these things would not be inappropriate if it was between people closer in age, but there's a huge difference between a 17-year-old and even a 25-year-old. My daughter is a young girl who does NOT look or act any older than her age. She does not seem like an adult in any way. I guess, thinking back, I dealt with a lot of the same shit, but I didn't realize how wrong it was. It just seemed like an expected annoyance. Thankfully, now my daughter is better at recognizing it and standing up for herself. Things have changed for the better, in some ways. Not enough, by any means, but a bit.

The age of consent is 16 here anyway, so nobody would be breaking any laws, even if they succeeded in seducing a minor of 16 or 17 (unless it was a teacher or coach or something, because there's an exception for adults in supervisory positions). But it's still really gross and means a much older man is a huge creep. I was 18 when my manager, who was at least 20 years older, constantly acted inappropriately with me. He would ask me things like if I "enjoyed" breastfeeding my baby, he was forever trying to talk about romantic situations with me, and he'd always touch me unnecessarily. I didn't know how to respond assertively, and that wasn't my fault, because I was never taught or shown what to do about that. Now, I couldn't be happier that we are talking about these EXTREMELY common situations.

And fuck you, Paul Miller.

Yay!  A new Facebook post!

Quote

I've believed from the moment the election results were in that the Alabama senate race was rigged for Doug Jones. There's no way such a progressive liberal could win fairly in a Bible Belt uber-conservative State like Alabama.

I don't know what will come of this, but I'm not surprised at all. The one thing that is most troubling to me is that I feel in my gut that the majority of Americans don't care. The outcome is the outcome in their minds, and so we should just move on, they say. "Roy Moore is just a sore loser," they say. Such a flippant attitude undermines the very core of our Democratic Republic and should be taken very, very seriously.

Since I'm a liberal from the evil North (a Yankee!), I have a stupid question.  Is Doug Jones really a "progressive" liberal?  Or is he more along the lines of West Virginia's Joe Manchin?

I never thought of him as a progressive liberal...I mean he's not to the far left or anything.

I love when fundies cry over people who are progressive. OH NO!! PROGRESS! SOCIETY MOVING FORWARD AND GETTING BETTER! HEAVEN'S TO BETSY!! :pearlclutching:

Doug Jones is the definition of moderate and is even a bit of a gun nut. He was of course painted as a baby-killing socialist, but that couldn't be further from the truth. There's also quite a lot of evidence of voter suppression by Republicans. Jones won despite this. STFU, Paul Miller.

I mean, I feel compelled to just smack him in his big, stupid, child-molester-apologist face, if that counts. Also, I'm sincerely jealous every time I read someone say something about being a New Zealander/Canadian/Brit/whatever nationality that didn't elect the tangerine toddler. But then, at least I'm a Washingtonian, so maybe some red-staters feel the same about me? Just grasping at straws here. I swear to God, sometimes I get jealous of my own child, because her parents aren't Republicans, and how nice must that be? What is wrong with me?

Contrary  to many fundies I follow, Paul seems to have a few dissenting voices commenting  on almost everything he posts. It’s refreshing.

Are we sure it's someone that actually follows him or just a FJer that challenges him and he refuses to block them?

It is absolutely possible that it’s an FJer; though I  haven’t noticed it’s the same person each time. He got a lot of pushback on one of his anti vax posts and some on the Roy Moore posts as well.

I'm glad he gets opposing opinions expressed on his page. Not because I think he will change his mind. He's ridiculously pig headed. But I hope some of his followers read the posts and change their mind.

Roy Moore is a sore loser though. Didn’t he try and block something to do with Doug becoming governor? Something like that anyway. If that’s not a sore loser I don’t know what is.

I LOVE the phrase OMGWTFBBQ. Shamelessly nicking it for my own use:pb_lol:

First this poor baby gets whooping cough because they are anti vaccination morons. And now he cuts his finger and they don’t want to take him to the ER. Then take him to URGENT CARE! Essential oils won’t stop his bleeding!

JFC, these people are assholes. Here’s a good way to stop bleeding:  medical attention, preferably from a professional. And these adults think asking for help on social media is preferable to the ER?  jackasses.

More Miller news: their oldest Daniel (who attends PCC) is in a relationship with a girl named Pamela Cioroch.

It looks like they got married in Feb according to their FB pages. I didn’t see anything from Paul and Abigail announcing it but maybe missed it. His grandma commented on Pamela’s photo about becoming a Mimi again in December.

His parents and his two sisters didn’t post anything on social media about a wedding so it makes me wonder if they just eloped.
