Useless trivia: Patch the Pirate is based in Greenville, SC, where I live. I use to drive by Majesty Music every day going to work, but now we pass by on the way to an awesome barbecue place.
Despite the proximity, I have managed to avoid ever seeing anything with good ol' Patch.

I just watched the airport video. Like someone else said, Josh seems detached from Anna.  I wonder if she really still loves him, wants to forgive and forget and have a good marriage (been there, done that, partly because I loved the asshole, partly because I was scared to get a divorce because I knew I'd lose my church family, and partly because I was terrified of being a single mom with two kids), and Josh is only staying in it because  A. JB holds the purse strings; B. he can't pay child support & alimony.
I really think Josh checked out of his life with Anna years ago, & is just going through the motions. I'm wondering if he'll ever get the guts to cut & run.
Also, poor Mackynzie in a dress & leggings, while Josh schleps around in shorts.

This is a perfect post.  I think this really does describe the Duggar's views on women who marry into the family.  No doubt they collectively don't value women as individuals very much , but I think they view their own precious female spawn with more respect than they do Anna.  Not much perhaps, ( remembering that awful picture of Jill having to hold Josh's can of pop that was posted a while back.  This was before the scandal broke, but the idea that anyone thought it was funny to take a picture of Josh treating his one of his victims as a slave is gross)

Anna aside,  if we can suspend the disgust we all feel for Josh, you can see that his end of this mess is not great either.  Pushed or maybe forced to be married off quickly to a woman he barely knew and didn't really seem all that into, Pushed to have kids as soon as Anna's womb would allow, and then, when he is not happy, he has no 'legitimate' way to end the marriage, and then putting him into a sub par treatment program and then pushing him to stay married and to continue to procreate.  And of course hindering his intellectual and skill development his whole life so he has very little chance to support himself outside and away from his father.    Yes he is repugnant, but his life is not a picnic either. 

It is sad all the way around what His and Her parents have wrought for these 2.  1 set of parents ignoring a big problem and enabling it, and the other set of parents being more concerned about marrying off a daughter to the highest bidder despite knowing he was a troubled young man.  Shameful and while  I don't really believe in hell, what I hope for these assholes is that suddenly, they will have complete awareness of the shitty decisions and horrible parenting they have done and that they have to live out the remainder of their days, with this knowledge.    And I would love for their children to become aware as well, and they slowly turn away from their parents.  Perhaps they still maintain somewhat of a connection, but not one that is warm and friendly.   

Every year for Mother's Day and Father's day, it makes me ill to see the Duggar kids praise their parents and for the older ones to comment they hope they will be as good a parent as Michelle or JB are.  I just want to reach through the screen and grab and tell these kids that to emulate their parents is not in anyone's best interest, least of all theirs and their children's.

So I had a board meeting this morning. I get the handout of programs that are not sufficient, or just plain bad and RU's program popped up.   I couldn't believe it. Granted this is a medical, psychological and sociological perspective organization so we differ greatly from these programs.

Anna has gotten a raw deal that just seems to get worse over time.   At first it seemed she did OK by marrying Josh but now with the Joshgates it's become pretty apparent that J&M offloaded their problem son onto her, with her not fully aware (at best) of how screwed up Josh was.  And now, she's expected to somehow "solve" his problem or at least stand by him after all the half-assed measures her in-laws took in order to deal with him.   

Unfortunately there are people who will look to a spouse as the easy way out to deal with a problem family member.  I believe my troubled ex-fiance's family was like this, they were more than a bit disappointed when I dumped him, believing it was my "duty" to help him.  I noped my way out of that one, marriage isn't one long therapy session.

Hey, @Carm_88, if there's any room to squeeze in on the birth/name/etc... pool, could I possibly get in there with the name Matthew Isaac and the birth date being the 6th of September, please? I won't guess length or weight, but I do think Anna will give birth at whatever home they have now and that they'll announce it via the official Duggar fam (puke) Facebook or whatever other SM they have about a week after the new precious blessing is born.  

Also, kind of unrelated to M5, my heart does go out to Anna. I know we talk a lot here about how she has a certain responsibility to have made better choices in the aftermath of Smuggar's downfall, but I can't imagine that's an easy reality for her at all. We got to glimpse some very real anger from her during the first ever episodes of Counting On, and it doesn't surprise me at all that her in-laws managed to take that anger she must have had towards Josh and turn it towards anyone who suggested leaving him. Someone upthread mentioned that Anna doesn't/might not want Josh to touch her, and that also would not surprise me at all. 

Man, though, I would have loved to have seen him try to help her and her brush him off or bat his hands away, but then again I don't think we'll catch sight of Josh being in any way decent or helpful in any meaningful way ever again, no matter how hard the brand may try.
