He's confusing lesbians with BTs. Who we know are essentially zombies. We know what zombies eat. He was probably drunk and high when he said it.

Got some true irony for ya.

I work at a tiny branch library in one of those right-wing enclaves, although we have a mix of folks and our whole community is under a thousand people, so people are pretty good about interacting as neighbors instead of by their political labels.

One older man who does not have internet at home comes in fairly regularly to use the computer.  The irony is:  the only thing he ever looks at on the computer is infowars!

Ack, just realized that's not ironic at all, it's just sad...

We have really obsolete computers and he experiences screen freezes often.  Sometimes I can fix it, other times I have to reboot.  I haven't yet told him that part of the problem is the lack of security on his website of choice...

How is InfoWars not a blocked site!? :/

And that is a sad tale. :(

We don't have any blocked sites; that would be censorship.

Kids are not allowed access to the computer without parental permission (other than a special user login for educational games).

Of course the super-obsolete operating systems keep people fairly limited unintentionally, lol...

I'm sure y'all block porn tho. That should be a new rule: No reichwing hate sites allowed on library computers, Daily Sh-tstorm-- the KKK site, InfoWars, Breitbart, etc. They are so harmful and so false. It's disgusting, and even more so that they can't be blocked.

Fuck their free speech, it not free if others have to pay for it in blood and harassment. No tolerance for intolerance! My Grandpa didn't fight in WW2 for nothing. My Great Uncle didn't fight back on Pearl Harbor just to have some Nazi wannabes try to take over. Not happening.

Also I can barely watch Alex Jones. It's reaaaaaaally hard. If he ever raised his voice around me, I might inadvertently sucker punch him because he acts and sounds like my abusive ex.

I have been practicing spitting. That way if I meet Jones or another bastard, I can accurately spit right beside them but not actually hit them. Lord knows they'd claim assault with a deadly weapon (my spit).

Nope.  No censorship in a public library.  (ours at least)

But our whole library is about the size of a nice living room, and the two public computers are smack dab in the middle and less than ten feet from the staff desk.  There would be zero privacy.  If someone tried it, I could always ask them to stop based on it being a disturbance to other patrons.  If there was only the one patron at the time, I suppose then it's technically legal but at that point I personally would probably feel unsafe and stop it on those grounds.  I guess my point is that legal porn is legal and the library does not censor, and in theory it would be legal for someone to view it there (like if we had private carels for internet use), but in actual daily life it just doesn't happen and I would probably stop it if it did, for indirect reasons as mentioned.

Funny story:  one time 7-8 years ago a friend of mine asked (half teasing me but half serious) why the library video collection didn't include any X-rated movies.  I explained that the library didn't buy ANY movies, but only had what had been donated.  Next week, there is my friend with an X-rated film to donate...  And it's still there on the shelf, though I never sent it to be catalogued so it's not in the official collection.  If the County Librarian has ever noticed it on her occasional visits to our branch, she's not said anything.  I honestly don't know if she'd keep it or not.

@church_of_dog, I've always enjoyed the Kickass Librarian video.  Here, in your honor:

Actually, I think library science IS a higher calling, and all librarians are kickass!

Thanks, that was great!  I hadn't seen it before.

And yes, when I interviewed for my position in 2004ish I was asked about the Patriot Act and what I would do if asked for patron records by law enforcement.  I knew what =I= thought, but did not know the library's position, so I was relieved to learn that they held the privacy of patron info higher than the "legal" requests of the act.  Also fortunately, our system doesn't keep circulation data in that kind of format, at least that I have access to...

This insane shit, unchecked, can get actual people actually killed (Pizzagate came close).  I hope Robert Mueller has a dedicated 24-hour protection detail, because I can promise you that some unhinged Alex Jones listener is making sure his AR-15 is in working order, while he counts his ammo and makes sure he can still get into his bullet proof vest.

That said, if Trump were to fire Mueller in the next 30 days, I might be tempted to take extreme action myself.

I hope he does too, but he's worked for the FBI so I'm sure he's quite careful. Probably a gated home, driver and security to and from the secure building. Not an exciting life right now but he has a job to do and I'm sure the FBI knows about this bit of ridiculousness and has informed him. If someone made an attempt on Mueller it would not look good for Dumpy AT ALL. I wonder if his minions worry about that.

Do you know who runs your life, your kids, your schools?  Who is a cowardly degenerate sack of anti-human trash? Who is the literal demon spawn of the pit of hell? Who is a smiling, leering devil? Who is a disingenuous, fake, false, brokeback, twisted, a defiler, a betrayer, a back stabber, a devil who is drunk on children's blood ?

You might think it's Hillary Clinton but you would be wrong.

The squawking by the reich wing loons continues

Quote

Mike Cernovich, a self-described “New Right” media personality who often peddles conspiracy theories, said that after reading the declassified memo written by Rep. Devin Nunes, he wondered if the FBI would kill Infowars radio host Alex Jones.

Today, a classified memo that Republicans spent the last week hyping as undeniable proof that the national intelligence community worked to undermine President Trump was finally released to the public. Despite the fact that many conservative media figures have expressed disappointment over the memo’s seeming failure to expose mass corruption, pro-Trump conspiracy theorists predictably have had a field day.

It would be fun if as many FJ folks as possible went to Jones's or Hannity's Twitter page and just fed him off he wall crazy shit to see if any would stick.

  • Hillary Clinton is really a man has has been married to Michelle Obama (also a man) for 50 years.
  • Barack Obama is a hologram  ...A Kenyan for sure, but also computer generated.
  • George Soros planted toothbrushes all over the country to spy on us.
  • Jimmy Carter and Jimmy Hoffa are the same person.
  • LGBTQ people have dusted Goldfish (the cheese snack not the fish) with  a powerful drug making all toddlers GAY!

I really really want to do this. Only like Pizza Gate, I don't want to add to the crazy so much that innocent people get hurt.

I'd suggest contacting Alex Jones to say that "I can't believe you're letting Milo spruik those supplements that are used by gay men to....oh, I don't know, something something something".

That said, he's actually pretty funny.  Like "I'm very careful about what I put into myself...[catches himself] Actually, I can't make that joke on the radio."

Some good YouTube news today.  Infowars has received a second strike from YouTube after posting a bullshit video about the victims of the Parkland shooting.

Quote

The channel said it received an alert from YouTube on Tuesday morning, saying Infowars received a second strike on a video about the Parkland, Fla. high school shooting and will temporarily be unable to upload new content.

"This is the second strike applied to your account within three months. As a result, you're unable to post new content to YouTube for two weeks," the alert said. "If there are no further issues, the ability to upload will be automatically restored after this two week period."

Infowars's second strike comes as social media giants like YouTube and Twitter grapple with how to handle extremist or conspiracy theory content.

A channel that receives three strikes from YouTube within three months is banned from the platform. While Infowars has several other ways to promote its videos — including an online radio show, its own website, Twitter and Facebook — a ban would cut Infowars off from its YouTube subscribers, which number more than 2 million.

I'm ready for all the reich wingers whining.

I'd bet cash money that they'll be out in force whining about how the ebil Googles is infringing on Jones's First Amendment rights and the like.

I'll see if I can find again but he already hit up David Hogg asking him to be interviewed so they could "talk it out" because of this strike. I am so disgusted.

Welp. What will all the manly men's men do, now their favorite demagogue has lost his Youtube channel, and won't be shouting and screeching (and beseeching to buy his brain-pills) anymore? What to do? What to do with their tinfoil hats? Hmm. Hannity maybe? Although he is rather mainstream...

Wasn't there a three strikes rule there? He was supposed to not post anything else that was ridiculous and they would unfreeze it? He couldn't do it?

Ha, read the thread and glad I did because I picked up some awesome memes there!

For those who don't want to go though it the theory is this "news" was an Alex Jones lie meant to stir up his base and get donations since his advertisers are bailing.
