Lori:

"Women, please beware of these young and beautiful women with great personalities and writing styles that are leading others astray in droves. "

Jealousy big time here!! No, don't follow the young and beautiful, follow the old and wrinkly (like me) with nasty personalities and crappy writing styles.

@EowynW  "It's like they want wives to be mindless dolls."

Why yes.  Yes they do.

I think if someone could invent a realistic sex doll that could cook and clean most fundie men would buy one. They seem to want nothing more than sex and food on demand/ command.  No conversation or companionship. Think how happy they would be -- get what they want and then the doll is back in the closet.

Lori's MRA commenters would love it.

Pants wearing Jinger radiates godliness because she is wearing an outfit that is 'totally a Jeremy outfit'? It is 'so beautiful' because she is wearing her pants to please Jeremy and the Lord?  What the heck did I just read?

Lori, your on planet earth. You might have missed an exit somewhere in the galaxy. We can't be the same species. Either that or you are losing the plot.

Don't forget MAKE BAYBEES--without complications, so she can spit out one a year for however long.

I'm not all that convinced that fundie men want all the Bay-bees.

I think it is a fundie women thing -- pushed on them by men to keep them tied down.  It's not that the men want the children per se -- they are a means to control the women. Except they end up having to work 2-3 jobs to pay for them.

A doll is by definition a controlled thing -- so fundie men would be all over that. Sex and food for free!!!  If the doll is in the closet when you don't want it -- the man is in control without having to get a wife pregnant every year to control her.  Remember all of Lori's MRAs who have said that except for sex they'd never have anything to do with women.

It would be win-win for the guys, which is really what the fundie MRAs want.

I always got a real creepy feeling from Jim Boob that all the babies were how he proved to the world he was still having sex. Some of these fundie men are so juvenile about their "license for sex" they receive after getting married.

I mean, how else will we know a healthy married couple has sex?!? Unless of course you are Ken and Lori Alexander and write about it quite often. As sad and dysfunctional as their sex life appears to be, they have to make sure we know Ken still gets all the sex!

Wouldn't it just be better -- and easier -- to assume that people in general have sex without having to talk about it.  If I never hear about 5 minutes and some lube again, it will be too soon.

@usmcmom  Totally agree about Jim Boob -- who gives me a seriously creepy crawling feeling just by existing. Then there is Ken and his Porn Stache (TM) {shudder}.

I'm glad Jinger is wearing pants, and I really hope Jeremy says "dress how you want". - and hope she is increasingly comfortable and autonomous.  I think it's tragic that the mindset of "doesn't make her own decisions until after marriage" is so casually interjected into things, too though.  And the comment Eowyn's dad made to her brother about "ruining the work of the girl's father's training" made me want to puke.

Yes, Lori is extremely jealous of women like Jennie Allen (who actually has masters degree in theology), Beth Moore, or any number of evangelical women who utilize Bible study methods and hermeneutics and therefore teach Scripture much differently than Lori ever will be able to (bless her little KJV only soul).  All she is left with is a "but they are doing it wrong!" with no tools in her own arsenal to back up that claim.

About Lane Bryant pants - if they are doing jeans with the yellow, red, blue sizing - then I would suggest to splurge and get a pair if they truly fit.  I bought about 4 pairs of their blue (extra curvy) dress pants a while ago, and they really held up.  I paid a bit for them, but I wore them for work every week and washed / wore them for 5 years before my post-thyroid surgery equated weight loss to wear a different size.  (I now find that Chico's jeans and pants fit me best - and have 2 pairs of jeans and 4 pair of dress pants in my closet - I just launder them all the time)  If you cannot afford new, then I recommend  specifically looking for some of the better brands at a thrift store.  No one cares wear you buy them - but pants that fit correctly make a world of difference, especially if you've worn a lot of skirts in the past.

Well, if there was ANY doubt whatsoever as to Lori's opinion of the actual Gospels--you know, the part of the New Testament that has all that stuff Jesus Himself actually said--well, in the comments on this morning's post, she had this to say:

Quote

Thank you! Yes, Romans through Revelation are the most relevant books in the Bible for the Church age under which we live. I love reading through these books and gain new insight every single time. Yes, His Word does transform us just as He promised!

Jesus? Pffft. He's just that guy Ken said was wrong.

Her most recent Instagram photo is of even more useless crap she saw while she was out shopping. But don't "dissipate your husband's substance", whatever you do.  Unless you are trying to make your readers jealous....then it's different.

I keep waiting for Lori to post something truly heinous about Charlottesville, but she probably got scared off from writing about politics and race after the overwhelmingly negative response to her Trayvon Martin post.

People like Jen Hatmaker make me so angry! There is a woman who calls herself a “pastor” of a very liberal Mennonite church brags about performing same sex weddings. I’ve tried calling her out on the sin of homosexuality but she won’t approve my comments on her blog. It really irritates me when people put souls in danger.

Quote

As my late mama would say “Those women need to be snatched bald headed and knocked into next week!”

Isn't that lovely?  How godly and compassionate! Putting souls in danger? You mean like the type of women who delete suicide hotline numbers so those in need can't see them.

And we know Aunt Lori won't allow comments through her censorship that she disagrees with...so I assume she has no problem with women being 'snatched bald headed and knocked into next week.'

Oh dear.  I didn't see that one.  Probably best I didn't.

I always wonder if Lori realizes that the Bible is an anthology and at various times over the centuries choices have been made about what to put in and take out.  It's not as though King James translated it himself with God whispering in his ear.

Lori, like many of her ilk have no conception of the various literary devices used in writing the bible, nor does she have any idea of the WHY certain epistles were written. I could go through and list them, but I won't. Let's just say that Lori's biblical education is non-existent. Holding Paul's writings over the Gospels is WRONG theology. Luke, Peter, Paul, James, John and the writer of Hebrews wrote regarding certain topics, to clarify certain issues or establish requirements for the infant church. Yes, many of these things are applicable today, but, they need to be filtered through the "who, what, where, when and why" of first century Palestine.

That is literally what KJV only fundies think though!  :mouse-shock:

I'm not Christian but my jaw DROPPED when I read that statement about Romans through Revelation. The story of Jesus Christ himself is less important than the rest of it?  Doesn't the rest of it lose its point a bit without that part?

By the way, you guys...Lori made sure today to let us all know that there's not one, but TWO family cabins in Door County. There's the one her father bought 30 years ago, and the one next door that her grandfather built in 1959.

Two vacation cabins at her disposal. And yet, she continues to have the gall to tell her leghumpers to do without anything and everything that makes life even reasonably pleasant in order to stay at home with those kajillion kids she also practically commands them to have. I should be used to this by now, but I continue to be gobsmacked at her arrogance. :angry-banghead:

I hope one day she falls hard on that ugly prideful face she's got. She needs to be taken down a couple of pegs and join us deplorables on the bottom

Yep. Maybe Ken will leave her for a pretty young thing in yoga pants. Then what would she do?  I suppose she could screw him over with alimony though.

Lori:

I have a set weight limit and I stick with it. I want to discipline my flesh and make it my slave.

BDSM, anyone? I'm all for whatever makes consenting adults happy in the bedroom, but I just wish she wouldn't involve others in what for her is clearly a kink. I know people in the BDSM community, and not a one of them either directly or obliquely refers to their activities as often as Lori and Ken do!

And "Romans through Revelations"?! She's following Paulianity, not Christianity.
