Am I the only one who found the snot on the sofa completely revolting? I had four babies under 51/2 years and snot would not be found crusted on my sofa.  Call me anal retentive or not but I remember following snot filled children wiping noses constantly. I always had a cloth or kleenex close by.  If something happened it was wiped immediately with soap and water.  I find it lazy.  And for the first six months i had a receiving blanket with me everywhere catching or wiping up baby puke , snot and the like.  That sofa must STINK. There is no reason not to clean bodily fluids immediately. I find that sooooooo gross.  She has two kids.....and she can't clean up the snot herself...the sister maid has to do it????? Mother's are impervious to all gross bodily fluids but leaving it harden, knowing it's there and not cleaning it totally is just grossing me right out.

ON a side note..do parents not use bibs much anymore to catch drool and stains? Why have I seen so many babies in highchairs or teething with no bibs?

Austin's friend did get an unusual amount of description.  Let's see if Jana starts spending a lot of time on her phone during clips.

Austin's friend Aaron Patton is 18 years old. Also, I've noticed over the past few years that Jana a lo of the times has her phone near her. She's either on it or has it in her hand so I not think there's anything alarming about it

Oh wow. No, I don't think that is going to happen. She's nearly 10 years older then him.*

*Not that there is anything wrong with that, but in the fundie world, I don't see it happening.

It has happened in the fundie world. Blair Brown, who was in her mid or late twenties married 17 year old Taylor Tsantles in 2010.  Any other examples?

Snot and spitup on the sofa are gross. I never had that. NEVER. If it happened, it got cleaned up RIGHT AWAY.

Also, GryffindorDisappointment never had that nasty yellow/green snot running down her face. I see SO MANY kids with runny/snotty noses and it's disgusting. Clean your kid's face, for fuck's sake. (Am I allowed to say the f-word here?)

As for bibs - I rarely used them for GryffDisapp because they just got in the way of everything, unless we were out-and-about and she was dressed in a super-cute outfit--lol. Her clothes didn't get any more stained than they would have without them. Plus, she wasn't a drooler during teething (she was the BEST baby - weaned herself, slept 9-hours at night from 6 weeks, teethed without warning/crying:  the teeth would just "show up" in her mouth, then she turned two and all hell broke loose).

You sure are. Matter of fact, it's fucking encouraged.

I thought she was 23? Still weird, but not as weird as late twenties.

I've always thought that Derick was aiming to be Jim Bob 2.0. And he really is like a less-funny, less-charming Jim Bob. Just let that sink in.

Yeah. At least Jim Bob acts like he likes his wife.

Patiently waiting for someone to upload the episode to youtube so I can watch it before it is caught and taken down

Exactly I think he does. Also I don't think Jim-Bob would ever do what his son did.

You are absolutely allowed, no you are encouraged, to use that word here. I see it too and it grosses me out. Honestly, it's disgusting.

If you have a kid, you wipe their nose. My other parenting pet peeve is smelly diapers. Sometimes I feel like some mothers don't even care anymore. Well, I care. You change your kid's diaper or I leave the room.

Jessa becomes more likable and "real" to me each episode. I will admit, she seemed like a snooty, bossy bitch to me before she had kids.

Did anyone catch the shade when one of the follicle-challenged boys put on the wrestling mask, and the other said something like, "at least it has hair"! :my_cool:

I have to give Jill props for that hair cut. It actually looks modern. Why doesn't she do that for some of her brothers???

Looking forward to the interview show to see if anyone admits to breaking courtship rules.  Look for signs of deception!

Is is just me, or did Babe and Babe sound like they were reading off of a teleprompter for their TH's/voice overs. It was really weird.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned Jinger's comment about when the Lord provides kids. There's been endless speculation about whether they are preventing pregnancy and to me this points to no. We will have to see if there is a very special announcement next week.

Also, the lack of a special announcement from Jilliard makes me wonder if they are doing OK.

Doesn't she still help out with the whole "mid-wife" thing? I wonder if she is on call?

There's a lot of pressure in the south - fundie or not - to at least have a significant other. With the pressure of age and most of her sisters jumping board the marriage train, I honestly wonder if she just hasn't met someone yet. I have a hard time believing her parents would specifically hold her back from it if that's what she really wanted. Their whole crazy insane lifestyle is centered around marriage and babies. They have even hired help (Laura) showing they are capable of making daily life work without the other girls.

On the other hand, Jana has also proved to be a super private person. I doubt we would hear of anyone on her radar until a courtship is announced (and probably comes out of nowhere). So even if she did have someone she was texting in those horrendous group chats with mom and dad, they all would be tight lipped about it. If anything, i think Jana has a lot of respect in that household and everybody (with social media) would be respectful of her privacy.

Ugh - my apologies for sounding like a fan girl!

Really???!!!!   Wow, when your husband is not legal to vote, drive with other teens in a car ( in some states), go to war or buy smokes and porn ( I had to throw that in there) but you could for years!

I think Joe gave a glimpse as to why he proposed the way he did. When he was talking to Pastor Caldwell (sp?) about courting Kendra there was a comment about Joe not being sure if she'd know what was coming but that Kendra had mentioned not being able to be surprised. I think Joe wanted to give Kendra the ultimate surprise as it sounds like she's quick to catch onto things before the surprise happens. So a scavenger hunt, a blindfold, a "random" walk up to a rooftop or by musicians gives a lot of hint as to what's about to happen. Proposing at someone else's wedding....a total surprise.

I noticed it, but then I thought maybe the TH had been filmed at the time she was shown shopping for "Laredo gifts" for her family. Based on Jeremy's comment after she had shopped, it sounded like that shopping trip occurred before Christmas - so... They'd only have been married a few weeks at the time.

Jason said it to Josiah, I believe. Josiah definitely is follicle challenged now.

People, I'm going to need y'all to quit with your weird thirst for Kendra's transphobic dad! That guy doesn't deserve your saliva.

Amen! No saliva here. I can sense his toxic, bigoted soul oozing out of his pores every time he speaks.

Was it me or did Austin's dad kiss Joy on her forehead when he was congratulating them on the engagement??

I like that he doesn't mind the physical contact but it is weird that Joy and Austin aren't allowed to that kind of stuff

ETA: I also noticed that Jill and Derick aren't in the preview of the after show thing, but they couldn't be in Central America because Joy and Austin are already married there ( they kiss) ... was it when Jill was in labor?

There is only 5 years 3 months between Blair and Taylor, not the 9+ years between Jana and Aaron.

Velocibaby is a drooler thanks to teething. I've tried putting bibs on her - she either pulls them off or it gets too wet. If we kept putting new ones on her then we'd have none left for meals and I'd rather protect her clothes from food stains. I just lay a big blanket on the floor when we have playtime - it's easier to wash a blanket than try to clean drool or spitup off the carpet.

We used bibs all the time when LO was teething (now he doesn't drool as much). We were mostly worried his cloths would be wet and uncomfortable . . . the blanket is a great idea too.
