I believe it was Taryn (a commenter on Zsu's blog) who objected to round birthday cakes because they were worshipping the moon and sun, and were thus pagan.

I miss Taryn!!! Oh and Doug, Yiddish is a language. Though it is the traditional (though by all means not exclusive) language of the Ashkenazi Jews, it's not a replacement for the word Jewish.

    Well crap, now I know why I can't stop eating Oreos. I even bite them to look like moons! Sometimes I peal off the top and eat the cream filling first. It's like an epic battle of light and dark......good versus evil........it all makes so much sense. It's not my fault, what a relief.

in the 1960s,

if you wore green on Thursdays you were queer. 

No idea what that says about green stuff holding cookies together, but it's what I thought of.

I've read that the colors used for M&Ms has changed over the years, but I think the original mix still has green M&Ms in it.
