Is this around the time she does an Instagram live? Because I remember people saying that she locks up her instagram then.

Ahh--maybe

To circle the unusual name topic back around to the chutney topic.  I recently read on IMDB that Diana Ross meant to name her daughter Chutney but misspelled it on the birth certificate as Chudney.   That could easily be an Urban Legend.  I do think that misspellings right after birth are not that uncommon though.

i read her biography several years ago, and that's supposedly true.  but the interesting thing is that when Diana was born, her parents had intended to call her Diane, but it ended up as Diana on her birth certificate.  her parents left it, but called her Diane throughout her childhood; supposedly, she didn't start using Diana until after the Supremes were established and she became more famous than Mary and Florence.

Oprah's legal name is Orpah (after Ruth's SIL in the Bible). Her family spelled Orpah correctly on her birth certificate, but every mispronounced it when she was growing up, so it became Oprah.

Her childhood friends including Smokey Robinson still call her Diane.

I am honestly flabbergasted at how the Dominguez parents can afford all their kids. Seriously, how much money is Mark making at the furniture store? And that isn't me ragging on anyone who sells furniture for a living. I know Sierra is a stay-at-home mother who occasionally sells cupcakes and apple butter for extra cash, but that can't provide for seven people forever. I don't know how they manage it.

I was wondering the same, I'm assuming whatever cut they get from TLC, does she do ads on her Instagram account? I just assume they're just like previous duggar thirfting levels.

D'arghhh - now I have this thing stuck in my head: like a version of 'the Sims' only with a few differences:

Fortune aspiration - now has the 'grifting' skill

Social aspiration - becomes something like 'ministry ...and then sims with the new 'ministry' aspiration get a new specialised career stream of 'missionary' that starts at 'fundraiser', then works up through the ranks to lvl 10, where you're owner/operator of the mission. This career track would unlock a new conversation option of 'proselytize' that has a bonus if used on certain public lots, such as shops etc.

The romance aspiration would work well just as is - though perhaps there should be more instances of 'desire to woohoo' and sim pregnancies should be shortened to one game day to leave more room for plenty of blessings.

I just mentioned this to Mr MIO (he sends his love) and he suggested that for family aspiration sims there should also be options for training children, a social interaction of dominate that only works with your wife, and a homeschool track. A headship sim's decisions on family affecting the whole family group's chances in other areas - as does his approval or otherwise of stuff like modesty of dress, fitness etc.

As you progress through the game and gather enough fundie sim families, you could unlock a building to move your fundie home church into and hold weddings/socials etc...

...at which point Mr MIO joins in again and suggests an expansion pack where you can choose which religion's fundie you are and have a challenge mode for converting more of the neighbourhood to one or the other.

Perhaps we should assert artists' rights and develop a product - we could use it to fund a free jinger  <del>missioncation</del> sunshine and culture cruise.

And she went private again...and now it's open.. Jeez, can't she just decide! I know she probably does it because of the live videos, but come on!

I love my Sims game. No fundies please. Although, they would have to raise the amount of Sims you can have in one house so that'd be a nice plus.

Is it me, or has a pic or two vanished from her Instagram? Current most recent is 'small child does Titanic' - I'd swear there's been something else since.

Have you ever done a Sims game where you only have the husband work and then encourage them to keep having babies in a starter home? It's pretty terrible, the Sims get miserable quick.

Hah nah. I use cheat codes. I'm currently building a female only dynasty.

That can get stressful too. I once had two lesbian sims get pregnant at the same time and both had triplets. It was a nightmare.

I'm playing sims 2 currently (computer is walking wounded so can't try 4 yet), so suffice it to say there's a lot of husbands mysteriously having careless deaths after introducing their wealth to the family and a large number of 'knowledge' seeking women having alien encounters. ;)

There is a great Youtube video by two young mormon moms who make fun of weird names and spellings among mormons. I don't have the link right now but you should find it with "unique mormon names" on YT or something like that. One is named Chastytee or something similar...

Hi! Sorry I'm a little late to the weird names discussion. First time poster here so hopefully I'm doing this right. Are these the videos you were talking about?

ART

* Confession time * I may or may not have multiple fundie families on my sims game...but this idea sounds even better.

OK, you guys inspired me...I just bought Sims 3 (several options) I used to play Sims 2 previously, so figured it would be fun again...the reviews on 4 seemed like it wasn't worth the $$, so figure 3 will work!

I have a sims 3 duggar-esq family going. It made me understand why Michelle had buddy groups. Having 5 teenagers take care of the toddlers is much easier than having one  sim-michelle do it lol.

Right now my computer monitor and keyboard are in two different apartments (yay moving!) so I can't play at the moment :(

Who'd have thunk so many of us would be into Sims. ...but then I guess you have to be pretty interested in people to have an interest in social dark spots, so perhaps it's not so much of a stretch.

I haven't played the Sims in a few years so it's cool seeing this discussion! The most kids I ever gave a family was three and never had too many families either.

Where can you buy the games now a days? Is it just an online thing or are there CD's? I'd love to start playing again in my spare time.

I love it. I'm on Sims3 and prefer it to what I've heard about 4. I pretty much have it running all the time when I'm home. Current house has 31 generations and number 31 is pregnant. I love it because I get to live my naming passion. I love names and it's the perfect outlet. It really opens your eyes to how you feel about some names.
