PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA (WUSA9) - Eight years after he emailed the Secret Service and threatened to kill President Barack Obama, a Northern Virginia man is now out of prison, equipped with enough signatures in at least one county to run for the House of Delegates.

A federal judge sentenced Nathan Daniel Larson to 16 months in prison with three years of supervised release. After Larson served time behind bars and Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe restored his voting rights, the convicted felon decided early this year to run for a seat in the Commonwealth’s lower chamber.

Larson intends to run for Virginia’s 31st House District, an area encompassing Prince William and Fauquier Counties. Fauquier election officials confirmed Monday Larson exceeded the threshold of signatures needed to have his name on the November ballot.

Fauquier is really redneck. No big surprise that he would run for that district. Prince William is a little different. It has a large minority (mostly Latino, but many African Americans as well). PW is often a swing area in elections.  The current delegate, Lingamfelter, is quite right-leaning. He has an A+ rating from the NRA. Maybe Larson and he will cancel each other out and give a Democrat a chance.

Guys, I don't get why this surprises you so much. I mean, if people with mental illnesses are allowed to buy guns with nobody batting an eye, why then it's perfectly fine for one to run for office now, isn't it? And this guy is certainly certifiable... so no probs.
