At 22, I was married and pregnant with our second.....and blissfully happy being tied down. We're all different :-)

This is random but do they have a IBLP conference every year in Australia? Or is this a new thing?

They have had a training center there since the 90's, so I'm pretty sure they have one every year. Typically the "big" speakers like Gil and Kelly don't go to it, they just show videos of their speeches. This year I guess they felt like taking a trip to Australia. Gil and Kelly have gone to South America for conferences too, they just don't talk about their IBLP travels a great deal.

The sad thing with Alyssa is that she really didn't have any other option. It isn't like moving out and having a career would have been allowed. The only way to escape her hellish life was to get married.

I haven't seen the episode, and thus the ring, but this was my initial thought when it being huge was discussed here. My MIL lost her original engagement ring years ago, and actually wanted CZ for the replacement, in case she loses it again.

I didn't work with jewelry but I love me some ring porn. No matter how many rings I own or how nice they are I will forever drool and covet sparkly things

Did anyone else watches the episode? I was even more bored than usual.  The whole thing was about the courtship proposal.

I watched it intermittently.  Thought both Tori and Bobby seemed fake (replay for the cameras?), and Tori kept calling Bobby "baby", which got annoying.  And the whole bit with the family standing nearby, lurking like voyeurs, is coming across as stupider with each new relationship.

My anniversary ring was made with lab made diamonds. Fraction of the cost and nobody can tell the difference. I'll never go back

Theyre behind i think. Didnt the whole Pensacola trip happen some months ago irl? Like early fall. Tori mentioned in the episode that Bobby asked Gil to court at the end of summer.

The courtship proposal happened on the one year anniversary of them being a couple which was in October I think. They seem to run 3 or 4 months behind just like the Duggars.  Probably pretty standard for a reality show like this.

19kidsandloving has a photo of some of the bates boys with "their friend Jonas" who is in a suit. Early I love you day celebration? Anyone know who Jonas is?

eta: answered my own question - Jonas thatcher. Carlin follows him. He has photos with Lawson, trace and kaci Lynn so it seems he hangs out with the bates often enough. He just graduated from hs and was prom king, so he doesn't seem to be the iblp type (tho I guess he would be an age appropriate for Carlin)

Someone here once found a ring Chad gave Erin as an anniversary(?) present and I remember it being lab made diamonds. I can imagine even some fundie engagement rings being lab made.
