I know this was ages ago, but I'm catching up on threads from when I was in the SNF.   I thought this was @Terrie spoofing Raquel, but then the next post sounds like this is an actual quote from Raquel.

Did she really post this on her blog?

I think I've seen something about a gum wall.  Not sure where but my guess would be Seattle.  She's trying to be cutting edge again.  She's not.  And that is just gross.

there used to be a gum wall in a suburb near me; it started in the 1980s as something done by middle/high school kids, so Raquel's not hipster.  and yes, it's fucking disgusting.

Those are some SERIOUSLY good natural looking falsies though.  Props for that.  

Also, the gum wall was Seattle and it was gross.  Portland, I feel like there are cooler things to steal from Seattle than the gum wall.  Come on, guys.

I don't understand the concept of the gum wall.  Is it a wall that mild vandals chose to deposit their gum on?  Or are they claiming that there is some sort of purpose behind it?  Is it an FU to the man and society in general, because most of us know to put our gum in the garbage.  Do the people who put gum on the wall also retain part of it in their mouth, like what's her name did?  Do they eventually put their mouth to the wall and use their tongue to stick the rest of the gum in place?  There has to be a better way to spend their time.

@Flossie, I'm pretty sure you have put more thought into the gum wall than Raquel did. She was hoping to get a voucher for a tattoo by participating in this very odd event.

i'm guessing she needs the tattoo voucher because she spent all of her money on the false eyelashes?

 

@Flossie, the gum wall that was around here was on the side of a post office; it was a little alleyway that was a shortcut commonly used by local kids.  a few of them stuck their gum on the wall rather than throw it on the ground or in the trash, and would notice that it was still there days or weeks later.  and so more kids added to it until the wall was mostly covered.  after a few years the town sanitation dept would come through and clean it up, and it would start over.  but after 10 or 12 years, kids lost interest (to the presumed relief of most adults).

All of this.  I've never heard of a gum wall and looking at the small piece of the Portland one and seeing her with a string of gum like that just makes me think how gross and unsanitary a gum wall would be.   ick

On her IG, it's "bondslave to Jesus Christ" and "desperately devoted to Your will" and all this stuff which (personally) I think sounds like a bit of a mental disorder (but then again, maybe alot of religion is a coping mechanism?)

 

anywaaaaay, check out her stuff! she's all legalistic and on the straight and narrow, super duper rule follower unlike Raquel, but that bizarre infatuation and desperation is still there.....I find it disturbing no matter how you dress it up.

I think it means bought for a price? But who knows. I thought of Raquel today when I saw an article about Miley Cyrus- she's apparently ditching her previous persona and trying to go back to a country princess look. Except she has approximately 100 weird little tattoos on her arms.

I actually don't hate the new tattoo.  I hate that she feels she has to make sure everyone knows she has a new one.

I hate the new tattoo and I feel like the shape of it will clash with some of the others. She is going to look like Miley Cyrus soon with her random modpodge of sticker-like tattoos.
