What's a CPC? Is it something I should already know?

Crisis Pregnancy Center, I suspect. One of the places that offers "medical" care to pregnant women in crisis (meaning considering abortion).

Hi y'all!  I've been lurking for years, and have finally signed up for this crazy train called, "Fundietrain to looneytown" (at least that's what I'll call in my head).  Snarking might not be very Christian of me, but I gotta say something versus just clutching my pearls skimming the threads :P

ANYWAYS!  I'm just offering my observational two cents - but between the TLC promo's, and social media talk, I'm thinking Jing is getting married this weekend (and I actually think it'd be cool if she really does do it in Texas - if it really helps her avoid having to host 1k+ people).  I'm thinking TLC is showing a standard wedding clip show next week, THEN the second episode of all about Jinger will hopefully feature some of her own wedding prep (otherwise, two clip shows in a row, feat. old Jinge footage, is like nails on a chalkboard) .  Finally, the season finale, will be her wedding special (two hours, I'm sure).  My only question is twofold, "Can they edit it all in two/three weeks, in time for a special?" and/or, "Would they finish the season showing Jinger's wedding, or will they push it out till next season??"

I'm a newb, be gentle *eyebrow wiggle*

I think that they will want to drag out the wedding as long as they can. They may not be able to keep all details from escaping but they will want the season to be based around Jinger's wedding and Jessa's pregnancy. So I think...it will be next season.

I definitely want to see a wedding dress shopping episode. Definitely.

As a lover of wedding dresses and a closeted Say Yes To The Dress fanatic, I think it's so bloody unfair that TLC filmed a crossover for Michelle to pick out (what could have been) a beautiful new dress for a vow renewal - but these lovely young daughters of hers whose weddings are being filmed and watched by over 4 million people (Jill!) don't get the same? What's up with that?

Haha, now that I think about it, maybe the Duggar family isn't welcome back to Kleinfeld's after the shenanigans from last visit!

First welcome ! we were all newbies

Second if we see her wedding at the end of November the snark fest will be amazing

Third - I am sure they can edit it faster because do we really need to see her wedding next March? - not to mention her crying getting a dress etc etc - the all about jinge special is pushing it.  She was never the first banana she was perhaps the 10th banana - so what will they pull out endless footage of her packing with Jessa....omg riveting television -

ok - for you I will sit through Jinge crying through her mascara, jumping up and down that she found the one all the while Jill gets scared from a hanger that makes a noise and Jessa passively aggressively says oh jinge are you sure over and over again and Mama Duggar going on about seasons.   I also see Mrs Vouleau rolling her eyes while Jana plots the destruction of her tattoo parlor.

It's possible that if we get anything, it will be the dress shopping trip as the season finale, with a VSE for the wedding itself, to coincide with the People magazine spread.

Can't Jana just please become a tattoo artist? She can call the shop 19 Tattoos and Counting.

Anna should have gotten the TLC dress and experience. She got screwed over so heavily with Joshly that she at least should have gotten to have the dress experience instead of that dollar-store dress of hers. Quite sad even Priscilla's gown stomped hers in style and it was the same t-shirt style. I really do feel for Anna in such a way. Sure Jill & Jessa didn't land a Chad Paine, but they also weren't saddled with a molester/adulterer.

Hi! First time poster here :)

I don't know why and where, but I somehow got the idea that Anna used her sister's wedding dress? I don't know where I read this, do you know something about it?  English is not my first language, so sorry in advance if sometimes I won't express myself clearly. :my_rolleyes:

I think you're right; it was mentioned on the show on her wedding episode. Anna married before Priscilla, and I don't think Suzanna is married (or that she'd be caught dead in a t-shirt dress), so I think that leaves their other sister. Esther?

Hi, and welcome :-)

yes, you may be right about the dress.

But I don't think Anna's wedding dress was as horrible as everyone here seems to think.

I thought is fit her very well (because she measured it to her own body herself) and it was simple, elegant and timeless. I think it was quite beautiful, tbh.

I know it's a little bit over the top but here is my ranking of the Duggar wedding dresses so far:

Jessa (because it was modern, not altered, blush and looked really good on her)

Anna (it fit her very well and was timeless) (same for Priscilla, although her's had more embellishments)

Jill (it was a nice dress , but it didn't fit her and looked weird around her shoulders)

As for the Bates girls: I liked Allysa's wedding gown the most because it was the most fitting and I think not altered. Erin and Michael's were altered and also looked alittle weird around the shoulders like Jill's.

I like Anna's dress. It was one if her sisters not sure if it was Esther's though.

It was Rebekah's, right? Her husband(now ex?) mentioned it and wasn't happy that it got ripped just before the ceremony. Come to think of it, maybe that was another drama-ploy by TLC? Kind of like leaving the freezer door open at Jill's wedding; wrecking the root beer floats.

Maybe Jinger's scared about the act of giving birth. I believe she witnessed Jessa giving birth to Spurgeon.  Being pregnant by the end of the year may sound a little scary to her.

If she did witness it. I sincerely hope that this encourages her to seek proper medical care when she herself is giving birth.

Yeah but did you hear the "defiling the marriage bed" comment? I think that while Jeremy might be ok about some things, like normal signs of affection. He's well deep in the koolaid.

Ok I hate to even ask this but is "keeping the marriage bed undefiled" not a thing in "mainstream" Christian circles? I never thought it was more extreme on the theology scale but my perception is likely skewed.

I never once heard it at any of the numerous mainline Protestant churches I attended growing up. The closest they even came was saying something along the lines of "sex is a beautiful thing... when you're married."

I'm still haunted by the Michelle Duggar Say Yes to the Dress crossover! :output_eeMbjt:

Honestly, I don't know much about the whole Protestant thing but I'm Catholic and even the most extreme priest hasn't mentioned that. I mean I'm sure they they might have but not in my remembrance.

I don't know how "mainstream" my admittedly fundie-lite experience was, but that's definitely a phrase I remember. I swear it is going to take years more of work to straighten out the mental mess that "sex is evil and you will get pregnant and you will go to hell" -turned to- "married sex is the best thing ever and should be enjoyed (but of course only with your spouse/no porn/no masturbation/etc)" did to my brain.

Anna borrowed the dress of her older sister that is no longer in the cult, IIRC. The husband said that TLC made up a bunch of stuff like the lego talk and got pissy with him for not wanting to be filmed.
