I didn't  get that idea.  But why the men constantly in pictures - why not Mrs V and Moochelle.... it's just disturbing.

Jeremy won't need any talking I get the impression

Because Michelle is clearly still in Arkansas with the other kids based off their Instagram account. They posted a picture of her with Joe out to lunch, as well as a cute picture of her helping to celebrate Hannie's birthday (and it was cute because it was nice to have photographic proof that she does occasionally spend some quality alone time with her children.) So she wouldn't be there to take part in any potential premarital counseling - which I don't think has even been confirmed to have happened during this trip. This could seriously just be a straightforward wedding planning trip where they pick flowers or cake or something.

It's not disturbing that her mother isn't there. Her father is more than capable of escorting one child on a trip for wedding related activities. Does he take it too far? Of course he does. If he didn't this website wouldn't exist. But him being there with Jinger instead of Michelle isn't disturbing on its own and I don't think it's really fair to imply otherwise.

I know here you have to do pre-marital counselling with a priest if you're getting married in the Catholic Church. I think you have tod o it for a few weeks. Not sure exactly how long, I think it depends on the priest and how laid back he is. But I wouldn't want to do it with a family member or even a friend.

It seems like something most Churches do if you opt for a religious ceremony. My sister and BIL were married in the Episcopal Church. Their Pastor holds a few marriage courses throughout the year for couples. It's more of a group environment and they discuss many topics - like the role of religion in your family life and how to talk about finances. I'm assuming any specific discussions about sex are done in private sessions if the couple requests it.

Compare that to my husband and I who had a civil ceremony. We looked up a few topics people suggest you discuss pre-marriage and then we just talked them over on our own. It worked for us because we were on the same page already, but I do think seeing a Pastor or a professional therapist for counseling can be very useful for couples who aren't in agreement because it provides a safe space where you have a third party to help guide the discussion productively.

If Jeremy's dad marries them then I can understand why he may do some premarital counseling with them. Boob would only be there to crack obnoxious jokes, make them feel uncomfortable, and make sure no premarital hanky panky goes on. :pb_rollseyes:

Why does the chaperone always have to be from the Duggar family? I mean, I guess I understand why, but I really wish someone else would question it. Like on the last Counting On episode, Ben had to be the chaperone even though Jeremy's friend James was with them. WHYYYY

JinJer have to be more secretive about their wedding vs the Dullurds and Seewalds because their show's ratings are actually kind of depending on it.

I don't think the chaperone has to be from the Duggar side but he/she does need to be fundy, otherwise he/she would just look away if they went in for a kiss and not stop them from losing the purity in their relationship I imagine. (I know that wasn't a very pretty sentence. :) )

Also, on Jeremy's FB post he says that they're getting counseling from his dad.  He didn't mention JB.  I guess his dad would be qualified being a preacher and all.  Hopefully he's advising them on how to navigate disagreements and such, not that Jinger would disagree with him about anything right now, lol.

I kind of feel like their secrecy is having a damaging effect on the ratings. People are losing interest because they're not getting any wedding updates, pregnancy updates, anything really.

I think it is the brides family that ensures her purity, so they supply the chaperone.

The Duggars can't trust a Vuolo chaperone, those women wear pants and probably listen to secular music.

Jinge and Jeremy are just a blip - they are hardly the same caliber of Dillards and Seewalds when they got married fan wise for people and they know that.  It's just about to trying to keep an illusion of something important.  Something is up though.... whether it's intentional or just because they want a sense of calm around the storm who knows... as for Jessa I still say something is up..and that is called PR.

BRILLIANT - what I have been saying... What is wrong with saying the wedding is October 29 in laredo.. Again to much secrecy... It's not like Josh is going to have any involvement so who cares...

I remember reading once that it's the responsibility of the female's family to provide chaperones - likely because the young woman has more to "lose" in their messed up culture than the young man would.

So if a Duggar son courted a Bates daughter, it would be up to the Bates family to provide chaperones. We saw that a little bit with Ashley Salyer courting Nathan Bates - her sister, Anastasia, often accompanied her on trips to visit them Bates family in Tennessee.

(Not sure how accurate this is. I just remember reading it somewhere on here once.)

I am going to guess here. I don't think they expect other people to uphold to the Duggar's values of chaperoning. So, Ben would be a better candidate rather than Jeremy's friends and it would prevent putting Jeremy's friend in an awkward position.

All I ask is not to have a million episodes about the darn wedding. We don't need a damn episode of them scouting wedding locations, which we will get anyways. Just do a general planning one, one about finding the dress, then cut to the wedding.

Definitely San Antonio.

Mr. Vuolo's giving a Sean Connery  /Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade vibe.

Jim Bob sporting the serious Dad jeans per the usual.

Jinge in creepy Michelle posture.

Jeremy looks good, I like those hats.

*edited to say I think this is just a fan account

It's a fan account. Neither of them have social media accounts that we know of. Plus, the usernames for those accounts have "rp" after them, which likely stands for "role play."

I have nothing against role-play in general, but the idea of RPing real people creeps me out.

Oh heavens, I should NOT read FJ before bed.  I dreamed that I woke up and the wedding happened last night, and FJ-ites were scrambling for details.  Hahaha.

I need to look at past photos of JB.....does he always stand off from people like he is with Jeremy?  Like it's too much to touch another person who is not Michelle?

What is weird to me is that that is really the Dugs and Vuolos. So, somebody else took the pic and then posted it? I guess. I just hope Jinge is happy I really hope it works out for some personal happiness for her.

They are boring,I think pretty much every courtship/engagement now is going to be boring because been there and done that. It's not like any of these girls are different! Oh Jinger's out that means there's Jana and Joy to pick from. You just have to choose which hair colour you like really.

Well, they could already be married and pregnant, so they could have a grand announcement that Jill, Jessa, Jinger and Sierra are all pregnant at the same time. Throw in a courtship for Jana and the boys, and that would be big. But still boring.

Maybe Joshie's up to his usual shenanigans again.
