I made a wall ornament and I <3 it!

I saw this thing on Pinterest where you could make initials out of buttons and I thought it was just the cutest thing, especially since I just inherited a giant thing of buttons. Well, my 5yo decided buttons weren't blingy enough for her (I really have no idea where she gets this girly-girl super sparkly thing) and requested gemstones. So that's what I did. We got a cardboard letter for Joann, painted it gold (her idea, of course) and tonight I hot glued on the jewels and a loop of gold ribbon to hang it from. I ended up with a couple of blisters. I really don't remember hot glue guns getting this HOT when I used to use them more often! But I just love how it turned out. I can't wait to see her reaction! 

I got a cardboard letter for my son too, but he wants buttons and red paint, which I have to go buy, so it will be a bit for that one. I think that's going to look great too, but it will definitely take longer than the hour it took me to do the jewels.
