I ran today's post through the Lori to English translator. I like doing that every once in a while. It makes it easier to understand.

But dang, this one ... Enlightening. If a little disturbing.

Quote

A soft woman doesn't speak loudly. She isn't argumentative and demanding. She is never harsh with others.

Translation: Unless those others are newborns, in which case, she needs to pinch them and slap them and leave them alone to cry themselves to sleep. It's not harsh when you're just teaching them the ways of the LAWD!

Quote

She doesn't insist on her own way and have angry outbursts when things don't go her way.

Translation: She CAN manipulate other people to ensure she gets her own way at all times, i.e., disabling her birth control to get pregnant against her husband's wishes, lock her kids in their rooms for hours at a time to get alone time, etc.

Quote

She listens carefully to others.

Translation: Especially when it's gossip about the neighbor's messy house.

Quote

She is warm, affectionate and smiles often. She loves and serves others, not wanting the best for herself.

Translation: Passive-aggressiveness is WAY more effective than open hostility, amiright?

Quote

She dresses modestly and is discreet in her behavior; not wanting to draw attention to herself.

Translation: Plunging necklines are totally modest.

Quote

She is sober and takes the Word of God seriously. She is moderate in her eating. She is gentle and patient with others and forgives easily. She is a feminine woman who loves her husband and children deeply.

Translation: Insisting on organic everything is moderate. IT IS!!!!! And it is also totally gentle and patient to beat babies. Forgiving? As long as forgiving allows you to bring up the same grievances over and over and over again on your biblical blog in the name of "teaching."

Quote

If she is treated poorly by others or left out, she doesn't have a pity party but uses this time to thank the Lord for all the good in her life. She dwells on the lovely and the good in others instead of having a critical attitude towards others.

Translation: Two words: Potato soup.

Okay, maybe I should expound. If I want potatoes in my soup, people should know that and give them to me. It's a complete and utter TRAVESTY that everyone should keep bringing me all these random soups and go so far as to MAKE ME HOMEMADE soup without ANY potatoes! Sure, I get it, I didn't actually ASK for potato soup, but THEY SHOULD KNOW I WANT IT ANYWAY! *foot stomp*

Quote

She believes the best about others.

Translation: Bratty toddlers and their RAISANS. Let's take turns beating her for hours until she picks them all up.

Quote

She works hard and takes good care of her family and home.

Translation: "Ken, get me a nanny and a housekeeper."

Quote

She doesn't argue her point over and over but allows the other person to have the last word.

Translation: DELETE!!!!!!!

DELETE DELETE DELETE DELETE DELETE !!!!!!

I AM RIGHT YOU ARE WRONG GOD OF THE UNIVERSE DELETEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!ELEVENTY!!!!!!

I took screenshots of the responses to her FB post where almost everyone called her out as a hypocrite in case she scraps because to disagree with Lori and Ken is to disagree with gawd, right? The internet is forever.

KMM says,

Quote

We need to remember though that it's okay to be loud if that is part of the personality that God gave us. My husband has told me multiple times that what attracted him to me and still does is because I am a bit more loud (an extravert from Chicago)than other women and God has given me a spiritual type of toughness in order to do the things He has called me and gifted me to do.

And Lori's utterly JAW-DROPPING response?

Quote

God describes prostitutes this way: "She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house" (Prov. 7:11)

Geez, Lori, how gentle and meek you are, soft and feminine right to the end.

The quote sounds quite a bit like a discussion of co-dependency I read recently. IOW, teaching women how to be vulnerable to predators and those who would use them and abuse them.

Wow...Lori actually called a poster a prostitute. How very Christian of her....NOT.

Damn Gina.  That's low.  So all us not-so-feminine types need to speak in Michelle's baby voice so as not to be ho-ish.

And you can cut someone down as low as you feel, so long as you do it in a nice pleasant tone with a smile on your face a'la Dolores Umbridge.

ETA:  I wonder if she'd get po'd if I reported her own response......

(thank you @jerkit for the direction! :-) )

She called her reader a prostitute.

That is worth repeating.

She went straight for the jugular, and why? The reader was respectful and really didn't disagree.

I wonder if Lori's asshole is ever jealous of the sheer volume of shit that spews out of her face.

Maybe it's not feminine for me to use that kind of language. But if I say it in a baby voice and with a keep-sweet smile, we can pretend like it's just as feminine as Lori calling her reader a prostitute, mkay?

:pb_eek: I have seen Lori write a lot of stupid shit, but I am absolutely floored by the fact that she just essentially called one of her readers a prostitute.  Just....oh my God :pb_confused:

So apparently a woman is supposed to be the type of woman her husband wants except when it's not the type of woman Lori thinks she should be.

I've been laughing inordinately loudly at That 70s Show for the past thirty minutes, with my husband sitting right next to me. Guess that makes me a prostitute.

Yesterday KingdomMinded Mamma had a go 'round with Ken regarding women keeping silent in church. Ken responded with wall-upon-wall of text and KMM wrote this:

Screenshot (8).png

Highly unlikely KMM didn't respond to Lori calling her a prostitute. She's not the keep silent type. I'm guessing the almighty delete key got a good workout today.

I had to grab a screen shot of the prostitute comment and her reply. I'm sharing it here just in case she comes to her senses.

This is the first time I tried to do a spoiler and have no idea if it is going to work. If I messed it up and a mod wants to fix it for me, have at it (and maybe let me know what I did wrong, please?).

Spoiler

Thanks for posting that quote, @Florita.

"...just because a cult may have been built on a false word that happened to be given by a different woman."

Am I reading into this, or is she pointing at Lori?

I'm using this as soon as I possibly can. I may even wake hubby to do so.

Oh, look. Another conversation between Lori and another woman--that didn't really happen! (Okay, maybe it did, but I seriously doubt it happened like this!)

"Her Daughter Sews Thong Bathing Suits" (who makes up her post titles, anyway? :pb_lol: )

Quote

Recently, I was talking with an acquaintance of mine. She is not a believer and knew about my blog so she asked me about it. She mentioned that she was a feminist. I asked her if she wants to be like a man. She exclaimed, "No! I love it when my husband opens doors for me and grabs me by the elbow to help me across the street." Concerning my viral post, she responded, "I don't want my husband to do the housework. He works so hard all day. He certainly does not need to do housework." {So far, she doesn't sound much like a feminist!} Later on, she told me about her daughter who sews bathing suits to sell. I asked her for the web page. She told me, "Oh, you wouldn't like them. They are the thong type bathing suits." I asked her,"Doesn't she know what this does to men?" She didn't know how to answer.

Ohai! Did you know she had a post that went viral?:wow:

*gasp* Post that went viral?  Lori had a post go viral???

Regarding the swimsuits- Is Lori kidding me right now?  She's bitching to someone about their daughter's modesty?  Really?

Lori honey, you might want to sweep around your own back door before you pry into this woman's life, because quite frankly, I'm pretty sure you have no room to talk.  How would you like it if one of your dress wearing readers asked if your adult daughter knew what her standard of dress did to men?  How would you like it if someone asked you if you knew what your cut to the navel top did to men?

I guess if they asked on the blog, you could delete them, but what if they were a real bitch and asked in person??

Quote

Does she not care that her daughter is making bathing suits for others that are promiscuous and make it difficult for men to not lust? Do women of the world even care about things like this or do they not think about it?

Again, Lori- get a broom and start sweeping.  People who live in glass houses....that sort of thing.  You get my drift.

Quote

What we wear says something about us.

And your navy tops screams: "I'm a HYPOCRITE!"

Quote

The fact that this woman knew I wouldn't like to see her daughter's website means that she knows her daughter's bathing suits are below my standards. I am glad that she realizes that I have higher standards than most in our culture.

Romans 12:3

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

There's a morsel of truth in there somewhere....Yeah, here it is:

not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think

Lori is holy in her own eyes.

Sorry to double post, but the more I think about it, the madder this makes me.

How dare Lori present herself as a holy paragon of virtue??  How dare she shame this woman's daughter and not her own?  How dare she shame either of them when she runs around in that navy top?

And what kind of Christian takes to the internet to shame someone in the first place?  What about praying for them?  What about going to them personally if you have a concern?

But no- not Lori.  She may forget to pray for someone, but she never forgets to gossip about them.  She saw this as an opportunity to point out her own holiness.

I'm an Atheist, but I'll tell you something.  If there is a God, he must be absolutely disgusted by Lori's behavior.

If I made thong style costumes and was asked 'don't you know what that does to men' I wouldn't know how to answer either. All the men I know have control over themselves.

Maybe she should have asked 'don't you know what that does to Ken' as he seems to have problems controlling his penis in public. I'd know how to answer then

'sorry to hear that Lori, has he ever thought of trying sex addiction counselling?'

And what would Lori say about a woman who works with her hands?  Makes real estate deals?  Does farming with physical labor?

About a woman who girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms?

About a woman who runs a business or two and supports her family?  Who has household help?

About a woman who is described as strong, and considers beauty to be vain?

Man-hating-feminist-prostitue?  Or Proverbs 31 woman?

She is just so nasty to her readers.

A reader on FB wrote about being convicted that she shouldn't wear bikinis anymore:

Quote

It's a tough one to convince others about tho.... Like for me- unless I had a personal revelation/conviction from God then I may still be wearing them.
But... I am always seeking and desiring Him- so maybe that's not the case with other believers

Now one might think that Lori could just leave it at that.  After all, she's a "soft, feminine woman" (according to yesterday's post), and a soft feminine women "doesn't argue her point over and over but allows the other person to have the last word".  But that was yesterday.  And that rule doesn't apply to Lori.  It applies to other people.

Lori:

Quote

No one needs "a personal revelation/conviction from God." They either need an older women exhorting them to be modest, a mother who teaches them to be modest, or read the Bible for themselves to find out what God's will is for their life. It's very clear!

You don't need conviction from God!  You need conviction from Lori.  She has higher standards than God anyway.  Everything he knows, he learned from her.

And :laughing-rolling: at the "mother who teaches them to be modest" bit.  How'd that work for you Lori?  Does your daughter (who you say "walks with Jesus") live up to your modesty standards?  I know you say you have "have higher standards than most in our culture".

See, I have no problem with the way Lori's daughter dresses.  I wouldn't be comfortable with it myself, but more power to her.  But the fact that Lori has chosen to shame another woman's daughter just absolutely outrages me.  The hypocrisy is just over the top.

I love baseball but I'm dreading the new season because the White Sox ownership is THE FUCKING WORST. I watched Dominican League Baseball (Lidom!) over the winter and fell in love with their joy, spirit, and exuberance. The broadcasts were in Spanish and my Spanish is pretty weak but I loved catching phrases and repeating them. Bombe! I'm sad about MLB and Commissioner Idiota's busywork rules. But I love baseball, always and forever.
I guess I don't have a point. Just bitching. Te amo mucho, Lidom!

      Happy International Women's Day!

Humanity may have some work to do, to improve gender equality, but I was glad to hear that France has taken an important step to protect healthcare for women (and people of other genders who can get pregnant).

Feeling ragey this morning. I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon in the hope of getting help for an ongoing injury. I went to a (different!!) doctor late last year who completely blew me off. He wouldn't do diagnostic testin, he refused to send me to a specialist, and he just told me to "take it easy" and "take ibuprofen." I'm hopeful for today's appointment but I'm also feeling a SEVERE amount of rage at that doctor from last year!

My niece is going to be a seat filler at this year's Academy Awards.  Seat fillers are asked to wear tuxedos regardless of sex/gender.  If you see a pretty young woman with very curly hair, it could be my niece.
