It doesn't surprise me that Deanna's family disowned her - but it does make my blood boil. The fundie beliefs are designed to destroy the very families they claim to be the center of everything. Keep making those babies and have as many as possible, but, you know, throw them to the curb when they grow up to be different than you.

One of the big Doug Phillips is a Tool follower families, the Seargeants from BCA, have two daughters engaged - one of the older BCA girls Ashley and another sister finally got engaged this month.

Also, Paige Davis from the lazydranch8 blog is engaged. She is the youngest of the original set of kids. Her sister Mallory is married to a Seargeant.

Yes, it was Bethany. On the Girotti blog, it is as if the engagement never happened... rather Maxwellian. But I'll give the Maxwells a tiny bit of credit: at least they announced that the wedding was off. The Girottis just stopped mentioning Bethany, then scrubbed posts mentioning her.

And I know they referred to having visa issues since they are Canadian...interesting she would "court" another American again....Yes, for people that attribute everything to God's will they sure don't like to mention him when things go south as if a breakup is the worse thing in the world.

I just feel bad for her in 15 years. When she's active, energetic, and healthy and she's caring for her children and her aging husband.

And what if they cannot have children? How old is she, mid 30's?  Maybe she really does love him and maybe she was a sheltered SAHD with no prospects and was pressured to accept a marriage proposal..... I feel for her as well, it just looks squicky IMHO.

I don't know, I think their looks/style make it all seem worse. There is a pretty decent age difference between my husband and me, but it's not hugely noticeable. He was blessed with youthful genes and dresses stylishly, and I have a bit of a preppy-middle-aged-mom look, and we balance out rather nicely. Imagine Russel with a better haircut and modern frames, wearing dark jeans and a shawl neck pullover, minus the gut. Now imagine Amanda with a long angled bob, makeup, modern frames, trouser jeans and heels, with a sweater set and pearls. I think we'd likely be saying how nice they look together and people would think he was lucky to have scored a cute, somewhat younger wife rather than saying they look squicky. 

Im not faking fun of their appearance, I hope that's clear! I just think their "styles" emphasize their age difference rather strikingly.

I think we should remove Tori Bates as she's apparently courting Bobby Smith though they just refer to him as boyfriend and haven't said the word courting yet.

Long: need to remove Emily who married Wesley Carmichael in March and add Mackenzie who is 18.

Smith: 11smiths blog.  Emily, Rebekah, Sarah, Jonathan. I think we had them listed before and now I don't see them.

Willis: Jessica, Jeremiah, Jennifer, Jeanette.  I think we should add them.

I never heard of the Arndts until FJ and this family is fascinating. All these single grown men in one family! That doesn't even happen in non fundie families! It's just so weird.
