N00b Question

Hopefully, I'm OK doing this. Mods, if I'm not: let me know. I kind of searched for the answer, but didn't quite find what I'm looking for.

I noticed that the Duggar and Bates forums have large, bolded "THIS IS NOT A FAN FORUM"  notice on them.

My question is: Is that seriously necessary? Do people come here and end up shocked that "Free Jinger" is a snark site? Because...DUH.

We do it because there's always at least three factions on the Duggar or Bates forums: the people who try to look for any sign that there's a break from ATI/IBLP, the people who think that merely wearing pants/doing something against their jender roles isn't necessarily a break from ATI/IBLP, and the people in the middle who lean more towards one way or another.

It's more a reminder that members can have "pet fundies", but that other members aren't obligated to hold them in the same esteem.
