Yep. There have been so many I have no idea which mistake he is talking about. 

Russell needs to understand he is his own worst enemy. He needs I grow the eff up, stop acting a fool, get off Facebook and be a good parent to his daughters. The continual pity party needs to cease.

Although, really, the fictional Gob Bluth is/was a much more stable man than Russ will ever be... and if you've seen 'Arrested Development,' that's saying something.

His relative, Kevin DeJaynes, made a cryptic post yesterday on his own page, I believe alluding to Russell needing help and not being able to recognize it.  I am sure it went right over Rusty's head.

I think he sobered up and realized he lost a good many friends, everyone is talking about him and he burned one too many bridges.  So now he's trying to get some sympathy.  He will never ever learn.  Everyone in his corner seems to have had enough of him.  I think he is reading this forum because as soon as I mentioned that he hadn't bothered focusing on Lauren, up pops a photo of her.  He is sad and pathetic.

Wow, the discussion on Goffs page was really quite sad. Someone remarked that Russ used to be such a nice guy.

For him to have alienated all those people who have known him for years, as well as what seems like a large portion of his own family, is really such a shame. However Russ needs to buckle up, see a mental health professional, and get himself sorted out and treated, so that he can be the best father he can be to those gorgeous little girls.

He needs to do the hard work on himself, with the assistance of a good doctor and a therapist, and maybe then, he can try to make amends to the people he has hurt and wronged in his life.

It's all up to you, Russ. Help is out there, you just need to reach out and take it.

I don't think any self reflection took place.  He made that desperate post, and a short time later he was  broadcasting a pic with the 'eff word' about fathers being looked as less than mothers.  Most likely, he missed some job application deadline, or thought he had more zeros in his bank account.  I don't think he is mentally ill or unbalanced, just a raging asshole.

Russ is apologizing to the officers he offended, I think. However, they have him blocked, and he knows that. So how that's going to work, I do not know.

The thing is, Russell was completely out of line. It's been a few years, I assume, since he worked as a police officer, he worked as a police officer in small towns. Things right now are extremely tense, and most of the police that I know are just simply exhausted. They're the bad guys, they're the good guys, their bosses tell them to make more arrests, and their bosses tell them they're making too many arrests, and all the paperwork changes over, and instead of filling out a 3 by 5 card with someones name when you stop somebody, now you have to fill out both sides of a 8.5x 11 sheet of paper. And then they yell at you, because you're not making any stops, because you're doing your paperwork. The dash cameras were purchased from the lowest bidder, and there is no money to keep them running, so most of them are broken. So when something happens, the media start suspecting that the police have tampered with the cameras.

Most of the police that I know have totally closed ranks. You are either in, or you're out. It has nothing to do with professional courtesy, as this idiot seems to think. It has to do with the political climate in our country, the way we have trained police officers, the way we do train police officers, and the fact that police officers are human and get scared too.

But Russell wouldn't know about that. I can't imagine he was a police officer for very long, and only a cop in small towns. Frankly, I see him as more of a mall cop than anything else.

The fact that he was not able to maintain a career in law enforcement is pretty telling about his personality. He probably joined to prove to himself he was a hot shot and a tough guy.  And anyone who does that...is NOT.  I imagine he may once have seemed like a fairly likable guy before his bad life choices began to catch up and overtake him.

Know when to say when, Russ.  You are about to run out of other people to blame for your mistakes.  When you have finally driven everyone away, will you finally look in the mirror and point at the guy who has caused all this?

He must want to ensure he is able to remain on unemployment, because anyone in his right mind would know that his open Facebook page will immediately be scrutinized by any potential employer. And when an employer sees the hot mess Russ has left on his page, it is over.  You'd think he'd go back and remove 90% of his content.  But no, I think he enjoys pouring over it again and again every day.

Is he eligible for unemployment, though? I think in Illinois the only way to be approved for unemployment is lack of seasonal work, being laid off due to lack of work or being fired without cause. He willingly put in his resignation.

I saw the posts about twenty minutes ago, and when I went back, he took down everything. Sadly, cat's out of the bag, there is no putting his words back in his mouth. He seems to think if he pulls the posts down, everyone forgets, but it's like trying to fix a smashed plate, you can't put it back together.

i think he needs help, but as with all mental issues, I myself suffer from depression and ADD in all its glory, a person must be ready to accept help. I'm afraid if he went to a therapist or doctor, it would all be a ploy for attention, instead of an earnest desire for reflection and change.

In order to get unemployment benefits, you have to work at least three of the four quarters to qualify. Resignation will not get him unemployment benefits so he must have had some savings or maybe some sort of income coming in from other relatives or friends or even an odd job or two. Does his dad live with him now?

I know we've batted around the idea of NPD, but it's pretty clear that Russell suffers from depression, at the very least. It's not surprising, considering that his daughter has a fatal disease. That, in and of itself, would warrant a few trips to a therapist, or some other mental health care. The almost gleeful lashing out, and then the apologies and regret after, are pretty indicative of a need for mental health care.

I hope he gets help. I really do. He has two little girls, even if he has no visitation with the baby. I can't imagine what it must be like for Lauren's mother. She's on her own no financial or emotional support from Russell, who seems to be a "buddy" rather than a dependable father. For all Russell's oversharing, he left out his daughter's recent illnesses, and I believe a surgery as well. Maybe he just doesn't want to deal with the fact that Lauren has an extremely serious, fatal disease. God knows I'd prefer to pretend my children are perfectly healthy, but that is unrealistic. Then again, my FB account is locked down and I don't talk about my children's health care much.

There are mental health screenings that all law enforcement officers must undergo. I don't care how small of a town Russell would be applying to work in, he'd flunk it

His dad lives in a care facility, I believe.  In a status, he pinned his location, Raintree Apartments in East Peoria.  Looked it up on Google Earth, it's pretty dismal and depressing.

From what I know of the family yes, Russell Sr. was put into a care facility due to his failing physical and mental health. It is also a dismal and depressing place. What is sad is that Russell Jr. will find himself in the same situation in another ten years or so if he keeps ignoring his own physical and mental health and chooses to nurse his pet personae of a victim of life in general.

Update: He is pretty proud of his new high and tight haircut, or as he calls it, "Had to get my Groove back on with trim....theme.. Military/cop/ seventies porn star/ Redneck Hunter. That about sums it up!". I don't think even Derek Zoolander is as obsessed with himself as Russ is...The impromptu selfie shoots, smack of his narcissism. I really hope he gets help, his daughters need him.
