Since you believe that men/women should be allowed to legally rape fuck pre- and young teen girls/boys with secondary sex characteristics because you believe that having breasts/pubic hair automatically makes someone an adult, then do you also believe that pre- and young teen boys/girls should be allowed to vote, drive, enter into legally binding contracts, decide whether or not to go to school, purchase alcohol or join the military?

 

Also, what about people who have severe cognitive disabilities, who may have a developmental age far below their chronological one?

OMG. I don't want to read the actual article because I don't want to give her clicks or give myself a heart attack, but did she actually say that secondary sex characteristics = capacity to consent to sex?

Girl 2 started to develop at the age of 5, and had breasts and public hair at the age of 6. That didn't for a moment change the fact that she was a CHILD, or the fact that I would have killed anyone who even though of doing anything sexual to her. [We had it checked out. Precocious puberty runs in my husband's family, she's healthy and she ultimately decided that the injections to delay puberty were worse than the early puberty. In other words, the answer to my question is not "good parents would fix that".]

"Pedophilia" is a reference to primary sexual attraction. It is not a crime to have that attraction.

Having sexual activity with a child, or having child porn, ARE crimes. They are based on actions, not just thoughts or attractions. There are people who molest children who are not technically pedophiles. What we criminalize is the exploitation of children.

Nice straw man argument with the "nobody cares about male victims" bit. Mary Kay Letourneau (rightly) went to jail because she had sex with a young student. It's not magically ok because she's female. Last time I looked, there was actually huge paranoia about adult gay men and young boys, so I don't know why JB thinks that anyone other than NAMBLA is saying that this is ok.

Her post is so strange, the way it lays out a ton of shit that is offensive and horrible and then ends with two concepts that many people would at least mostly agree with-- that two teenagers having sex is not the same as an adult having sex with a minor and that men shouldn't be punished for unknowingly having sex with someone who is almost 18.

Many states have something set in place so that a 19 year old won't automatically be convicted of rape for having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend. Many people would say that a 25 year old should not go to jail for having sex with a mature-looking 17 year old with a fake ID who sneaked into a bar.

Is she this nonsensical all the time?

Yes. Scary thing is she fancies herself to be some type of intellectual. And she claims to be getting a doctorate in hope of becoming a college professor.
