Now Tonya puts a Facebook photo of herself behind the wheel of the motorhome and brags how she drove it for five minutes and was white knuckled all the while.

Hey, Tonya, why aren't you behind the wheel almost 50% of the time???

Is driving only for the man of the house? Why put the responsibility of driving that behemoth all on Dale? When is it Dale's turn to home school and spend time with the kiddos? Especially since he's currently unemployed.

Big brag. Look at me - I drove for five minutes.

Control. She thinks if he's driving all the time, he won't be able to watch porn or have affairs with other women.

She's totally caught him at it again. Otherwise why the sudden obsessive interest in the Evils of Porn? Checked the Ashley Madison database, I assume.

Also: clearly she's never heard of lot lizards, lol.

Okay, now I feel a bit sorry for Tonya. She announced on FB today her father's lung cancer has returned. It has spread to his brain. Actually I'm only assuming it's a spread of his lung cancer. Tonya calls it brain cancer as if it's an entirely new cancer. People get confused about primary vs. metastatic disease.

Either way she's as stunned and saddened as we all would be if it were our dads.

I want to tell her about brain radiation and how people with brain metastasis can live for years but instead I came here to say this to all of you. I can't bring myself to post on her FB. I feel like a snotty hypocrite.

Sorry her dad is ill, and best wishes his way.

However, her new hairstyle, when she has it in Kewpie mode, reminds me of "There's something about Mary" (Look for the day she is buying glasses and more recently with her brother and dad)

I'm also sorry to hear about her father. That hairstyle is definitely not doing her any favors.

It really is such a weird hairstyle choice for a straight woman. I assume she's gone with this because washing your hair in an RV shower sucks.

Today I'm feeling less like a snot. Tonya's dad is out of surgery (I suspect he had a brain tumor removed) and doing well. Her FB posts show her relief.

So........back to snarking!

I hate her hair! I think she's pretty and loved her long hair. Now she looks dorky. It's not doing her any favors. Way to make Dale lust after you, Tonya.

NOT!

It's not just "cult-like." Family members have used deprogrammers to get people out of MLMs.

http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-reason-py ... u-thought/

I just got through reading her FB page and the mega FJ thread about her. She's telling people that essential oils are helping her lose weight, and they will cure the flu.

She also wants to find out how to replace her family's library visits with e-reader rentals. A commenter is gently trying to tell her that when it comes to children, going 100% e-reader has more negatives than positives, especially with beginning readers.

Sheesh, I wish they *did* cure the flu. Our entire household is down with some kind of flu like crud right now.

As I've mentioned in other Tonya threads, it's not that I don't like essential oils- my love of all things smelly is well-known. But she's not making sales by touting the legitimate benefits of essential oils, she's making sales by:

What are legitimate benefits of EOs?

Just curious.

Well, I'd say that the legit benefits of EO's are the kickbacks the MLM team leaders get from their underlings selling them. A few people I'm acquainted with are into DoTerra and Young Living and the advice they toss out is downright scary. Like putting lavender oil on a second-degree burn, and only DoTerra oil, don't even think about using any other brand. And using EO's in recipes? Crazy and potentially dangerous. :?

One of my coworkers has jumped on the EO bandwagon. One day I was sitting at my desk (in a cube farm) and all the sudden, it smelled like an Italian restaurant. I sent my boss an IM asking him who was eating spaghetti at 9:00 am. He starts cracking up and messages me "It's Kay... It's an oil." It was awful.

Thursday I kept smelling Windex. She comes to my cube to ask for something and I looked at her (the smell... I hate Windex) and she says "It's my oil for stress relief." I said "You smell like Windex."

She has this plugin diffuser at her desk. I am highly sensitive to smell. That diffuser might have to go. It's one thing to do that when you have an office with a door. However, we work in a cube farm. You smell everything.

I'm not opposed to a hint of lavender on my pillow at night... But the Italian Restaurant and the Windex... Hell no.

She has tried to convince our boss he needs oils. I told him- if you want to try them just to see if they help, you can buy a lot of those at Walmart (they are carrying some oils & they're like $6 a bottle- that's where I got my lavender) and save a lot of money.

It's been a while since we checked in on our favorite MLM shill.  Some highlights:

  • Sharing bullshit claims that cancer can't survive in alkaline environments.
  • Advising people not to use regular bug spray to ward off Zika-carrying mosquitos--just use an essential oils blend
  • Advocating that people choose chiropractors over doctors

My response to the bug spray advice:  When my dad went on a canoe trip with his friends to the Boundary Waters of Minnesota, he brought along that 100% DEET bug spray that you can only put on your clothes.  His friends brought "all-natural" bug spray.  About 30 minutes into the beginning of their trip through the woods, the friends were begging my dad for his bug spray.
