Maxwell Manly Man Work Party!

OT: The reboot of the Twilight Zone did a TOTALLY UNNECESSARY sequel to that ep, in which the Billy Mumy character (which he played both times) had a similar daughter, but "reformed."

Back to your regularly scheduled snark.

Nooooooooo!

I didn't want to start a separate thread for this but the latest Mom's Corner is so very snarkable.

Snarkalicious! I can solve your problem Teri. You didn't need to send your girls to help with the new baby (the Maxwells actually have friends?), then they could have finished their housework and not have gotten exposed to the stomach virus assuming they were the ones that got sick. Or send them out after the housework is completed. The girls are adults even if you don't think they are, they don't need to be waited on hand and foot unless they were conpletely paralyzed. As for Sarah's birthday, just take her out to eat. As for the computer, how many computer support specialists do you have in your family-Steve, Nate, Chris, Joe, Jesse? Get one of them to fix the computer. Problem solved.

Why can't household chores be skipped for a few days when people are sick? I guess that the schedule is still all important.

I have a feeling if they tried to scrap the schedule they'd be milling around like robots without their programming, not knowing what to do with themselves.

2 "girls" went to help a Mom with a new baby?!? Who do they know? Did Anna give birth? She had to "nurse" 2 "girls" with stomach a virus??? Most "adults" just want to be left alone in bed to sleep. Do you think she still takes their temp in their butts????

Steve may be controlling, but Teri is incapable of seeing her children as adults.

I will confess. I didn’t pray. I just kept pushing my efforts through while experiencing those stressful feelings. I wonder what would have happened if I had prayed. It might have gone like this: “Lord Jesus, You know that I really want to write the Mom’s Corner this afternoon, and I also would like to have this book ready for Steve and me to read tonight. I can’t get this book to download, and it is taking longer than I wanted it to take. Thank You, Jesus, for my computer. Thank You that I found the book as a free download. Would You please help me?â€

I expect the Lord would have encouraged me to drop the book download and write the Mom’s Corner, going back to the download when the article was completed. After all, the Mom’s Corner was the priority. It is possible He might have directed me to the solution for the computer issue so I would have had the book available at bedtime when Steve and I read together for a little bit.

I.cant.even.

Let me see if I understand this correctly?

The lord God creator and overseer of all that is in this universe, and maybe some others, has the time to coach Teri through her life altering crisis of down loading a book and writing a blog post. I can't figure out if the Maxwells are arrogant, clueless, or fucking incompetent.

The rest of that post is just insane. Her reliance on scheduling and the level of breakdown she seems to have if anything does not go according plan is mind boggling.

I am honestly nearly at a loss for words reading that post.

NR Anna isn't due till March. If she had Maxwell 3.0 early, there would have been a blog post about it.

Why didn't Jesus tell her to ask one of her computer genius sons to help her download the book? Maybe because it would have interfered with their schedule. I remember that Christopher and NR Anna had to schedule time a week in the future to discuss what to name the last baby.

He's wearing the dad version of mom jeans. And he's got his beeper or whatever clipped to his belt. Hopeless. I'm sure he only jeaned up so they'd be all matchy matchy for the photo. This guy definitely came out of the womb in Dockers.

Oh dear. I just realized who Christopher's kid reminds me of. Billy Mumy as Anthony in the Twilight Zone episode It's a Good Life. Does this mean I'm going to get sent into the cornfield for thinking bad thoughts?

It's good that you think Christopher looks like Billy. It's real good. Don't you think it's real good Christopher?

Come to think about it, a day in the life of the Maxwells is kind of like a Twilight Zone episode.

Or perhaps, more like the movie "Groundhog Day."

Teri's problem could be solved if she realised that it isn't the end of the world if chores weren't done for a day....and that none of her kids are children anymore and they can look after themselves.

I was pleasantly shocked that the daughters were actually allowed to help someone else in the community who just had a baby! I guess 2 of them going together made it okay, but I thought she or Steve would have to go along.

I guess this "2 very sick daughters" gives them confirmation that they're doing right by them not living alone; who would care for them when they're sick? Or now are they gonna have to wear masks when they go help out at non-family members' houses, lest they come down with this flu? Or are you now okay with flu shots?(I don't remember their feelings on flu shots, but I'm sure if they get them, they all do it as a family and recover together)
