How do you find out who owns a blog? I'd love to see a photo of the real Marky Mark. Unless he looks like Patrick Stewart, I don't see him easily picking up younger women. Sometimes women will be attracted to an older man's personality but I don't see that being the case with him.

The problem with it--and maybe one of the reasons he failed--is that it's all about him:

he is a super duper skater

he had a good time even without a woman

he picked up signs of interest from Blanca (her lips were dry, dude!)

he impressed her with his super moves

he told her (God forbid he should ask a woman for anything) to give him her phone number

If MM ever reads this site, here are some suggestions for the next time. I called them "Make it less about you."

find out her kids names and ages

let her talk about them. show a friendly interest even though you don't care about the brats

offer to buy her a soda, or a small treat for the kids

help her by returning their skates when they are done or doing some other small kindness

ask her what she does, show an interest in her

don't show off in front of her (that is so 7th grade)

most of all. . . don't imagine you are using Game, or that she likes Game because all women want to be dominated

Creepy as hell. So, the other person gives you a fake number, you call it in front of her and then what? You humiliate both of yourselves and make a scene? You demand her correct number and seem even more creepy?

It is interesting that Marky Mark refuses to acknowledge that maybe the information he has gotten about women is wrong. The signs he read sound like she was simply being polite. Licking her lips might have been nervousness or you know, a sign her lips were dry.

He thought he was being cool but he might have frightened her also. Maybe she really just wanted to skate with her two kids and not be bothered by a man trying to get a date.

Yeah, I never understand why men (or anyone) check to see if the number is real in front of the other person. If the number is fake, the only person who ends up looking like a fool is the one who checked it. Wouldn't it make more sense to spare your feelings from public humiliation by checking when you're alone? Obviously, the other person is trying to help you "save face" by giving you a number--otherwise they would've been more blunt and told you what they really wanted to tell you..."fuck off, creep!"

I've been out of the dating scene for a loooooong time and have never heard of this. Why would anyone put their love interest on the spot/embarass themselves by calling the digits right in front of the one who gave them? That's just bizarre. Ideally, wouldn't you just wait until you're alone? I know this has all been covered, but I just don't understand it. I mean, what creepier way to say, "I'm interested in you, but I also don't trust you, and if you lied to get away from me, I'm going to call you on it and keep harassing you!"

Eepecially in the case of someone like Marky Mark, who seems only to care about keeping up appearances.

Did anyone catch Mrs. Anna T in the comments, commiserating that the dating world is indeed full of weirdos and it's important to detect the unsuitable ones sooner rather than later? Not sure if she's talking about Marky or Blanca.

ETA: I read more and she comments repeatedly about people not always being what they appear and/or the necessity to avoid getting emotionally involved -- like she did, by not even holding hands before marriage! So weird to see her conversing in the MRA context.
