Are you looking for religion-related podcasts, or just anything? I'm way way behind on listening, but I like

365 Days of Astronomy

GeekDads

a lot of the BBC podcasts(although the best ones - Dr Who commentaries!! - can't be downloaded in the States - anyone know of a way around that?)

RTE podcasts from Ireland (I liked some of the documentaries but I'm about 2 years behind)

CBC podcasts - especially Quirks & Quarks

NASA has some interesting podcasts(video pods as well as audio)

Skeptic's Guide to the Universe

Skeptoid

and if those are up your alley, Skeptic.com has a list of other critical-thinking/skepticism sort of podcasts- one from the Amazing Randi, which I need to download

NPR's Car Talk, Science Friday, and Wait Wait Don't Tell Me

I used to have some crochet podcasts, but the best one (Getting Loopy) ended, and the others are intermittent and infrequent (unfortunately), and some TV podcasts, but I'm so behind on those that the best ones have changed websites and I lost them.

If you like Bravo's shows: Watch what crappens!

You really do not need to watch the shows to enjoy the podcast. It is just too funny.

(adds to list) Thanks for the recs, I still have a month and a half before school starts again for me so I have way to much free time. I'm not picky at all.

If anyone has their own, guest stars on one, or whatever feel free to plug it.

Also please post fave podcast and ask for recs as well. I can't be the only one looking for new ones.

I listed some of mine, but I do have more, I'll list them all (with genre and type this time) If anyone wants me to.

My favorites are:

This American Life

WTF with Marc Maron

NPR Pop Culture Happy Hour

The British History Podcast

The Moth

Sick and Wrong

Uh, Yeah Dude

(I haven't lisented to the last two in a long time, so I can't vouch for their content these days - they're both kind of raunchy)

I want to second the Skeptoid recommendation! I look forward to new ones every week, they've taught me so much.

I also enjoy Rick Steve's radio show in podcast form. I listen to them while I work at my terrible job as I way of reminding myself why I'm working extra hours so I can go away.

I am a bit of a podcast addict, and I listen to several of the podcasts listed. I tend to think of the podcasts that I listen to as either comedy/entertainment, or educational, and gorge on one category or the other, according to mood. A few that I would add:

Educational:

Grammar Girl Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing: very short, under 10 minutes, and entertaining while informative

Stuff You Missed in History Class: I used to listen to several of the How Stuff Works podcasts (there are at least a dozen), but this one has been the one that I've held on to.

WNYC's RadioLab: very slickly produced science and culture show

Comedy/Entertainment:

Doug Loves Movies: movie trivia games played by a panel of comedians

Comedy Film Nerds: movie reviews by two comedians

International Waters: pop culture quiz show with comedians from different countries

I don't listen to to podcasts that often anymore, but when I do: This American Life, Planet Money, and Freakonomics (even though I hated the book).

I love podcasts and listen to them A LOT.

If you like really old TV like from the 60s, Gilbert Gottfried has a fun podcast where he interviews people that you think Wow He's Still Alive?! (Larry Storch, Ken Berry etc)

One weird item from Danny Bonaduce interview: Gilbert & Danny reminisced about a 3some they once had. Ew.

I couldn't function without podcasts! I'm a bit of a history and conspiracy theory buff so theres quite a few of those in my listening list :)

My faves are:

In Our Time (BBC Radio 4)

Analysis (BBC Radio 4)

Audio Long Reads (The Guardian)

Stuff You Missed in History Class (Howstuffworks.com)

Stuff They Don't Want You To Know (Howstuffworks.com)

Myths and Legends

The History Chicks

RuPaul: Whats The Tee? With Michelle Visage - I'm a HUGE Drag Race fan!

I used to love the Reasonable Doubts podcast but they stopped making new episodes about a year ago. It's an atheism podcast but they've done a few epoisodes on quiverfull, general fundie-ism, mormanism, etc. The back catalogue is huge though if anyone wants to check it out. It's very witty and clever.

2 Dope Queens!!!! Funniest podcast I listen but not at all safe for work lol

Media Unplugged- this one is really only interesting if you like media criticism/marketing etc. Can come off very nerd bro at times cause it's just those two guys, but I just ignore the moments when they make me cringe and enjoy their snark on other things lol

Story Corps- heart warming/sad stories about a variety of things since they interview different people all the time.

On The Media from WNYC- Much more broad. They cover a whole range of topics including plenty of political issues so there's something for everyone.

And then I listen to a WHOLE bunch of fictional podcasts if anyone is interested in those.

YES!  I had 10 hours on the road this week and got through the first book.  I almost wrecked my car laughing so hard.  Definitely got some funny looks from other drivers.   I hope the dad keeps up with the series.....although it can't be easy on the poor son!

I listen to podcast all the time at work. Death, Sex and Money is great. Fun side thing I swear the host Anna Sale could be Sarah Maxwell ' s doppelganger. Another fundie doppelganger and podcast his is Phil Ferguson of the cleverly titled Phil Ferguson show. I enjoy Waiting 4 Wrath just a few guys and a woman drinking and reviewing beer, while discussing headlines. Mortified cracks me up, people reading from their teenage diaries. Whoever mentioned Story Corp, I enjoy their stories, but don't listen at work since I inevitably tear up at the stories. RISK is good, but definitely not safe for work. Scummy Mummies out of the UK has some great parenting humor. Criminal has some interesting episodes. Whoever mentioned Thank God I'm Atheist Frank and Dan crack me up. There is also Everyone's Agnostic. I enjoy Bob's genuine suprise at certain religious practices. Cass sometimes has a tendency to overtake the interview and move the focus onto him. Bob is definitely the balance he needs. Stuff Your Mom Never Told You is interesting for the various subjects they tackle. Whoever mentioned God Awful Movies are you excited about the live show they are doing with the Cognitive Dissonance guys? Yeah I guess you can say 8 hrs of playing data monkey 5 days a week gives me a chance to listen to a lot of podcast.
