  1. Previous thread here: This last season ended with Jinger's wedding and honeymoon, where she and Jeremy had some PDA in the kitchen, and Jeremy got hit with a boomerang. We were also introduced to Joy's friend with fellowship, Austin, who has now become her fiancé. This is the show that doesn't end... (I had that song in my head, and I just had to share the gift LOL)
  2. Previously, we talked about our earliest news memory (for the record, mine is a super vague memory of the Los Angeles Olympics. The fully formed one would be Challenger exploding.)
  3. Last thread here: Title taken from a comment on Jill's instagram: As far as we know, the Dillards are still mission-cationing in CA, despite the fact that Jill is pregnant and might have another difficult labor on her hands, plus the risk of Zika. She's also praying for protection from bacteria and insects in Central America, and Derick is still doing his once-a-week preaching to the Catholics, instead of getting a job in the States he's actually trained to do. Meanwhile, we're all asking, "And they want $24,000 for a few months of this?!"
  4. Previous thread here: While Derick and Jill are awaiting the arrival of their second son, they haven't lost any time in picking their grifting ways missionary work back up. They want 24,000 dollars (yes, you read that right, and that's as many zeros as you're thinking) for a four-month trip to Central America. What are they actually using it for besides their own needs? Who knows? Let's stay tuned to find out!
  5. Last thread here: Title is from @BadMurphy noticing the glare hiding Josh from view on the show. TLC, we know he was there, so you might as well be honest about it. This last episode was two hours of crap we already saw, and it was even more boring the second time around. Pretty sure at this point that the network's trying to bore us all to death. Make it stop, TLC!
  6. Israel Dillard is back in El Salvador with mami and papi, and those weird bruises under his eyes are back too. Is it allergies? Is he allergic to something in El Salvador? His eyes were normal on the latest episodes of Counting On.......
  7. Last thread here: As you can probably tell, Jill and Derick are expecting their second son. They also give toddlers music lessons, went to the March for Life (and met at a Planned Parenthood, no less!), and continue to post Bible verses on social media. We talked about abortion and other "life issues" like end-of-life care, and the guessing game for Dill #2's name has already begun!
  8. Last thread here: Derick and Jill have been back in the states from Scurry Central America for a while. Jill and Derick are expecting a new baby, and in the meantime, Derick is tweeting verses from Proverbs and referencing man-eaters (which we all certainly did not need). Derick was also seen gagging/puking in the newest Counting On trailer while running. Derick's mom Cathy also tweeted that she wanted an end to abortion for her birthday. Kinda tall order if you ask me... Let's see what the Dillards get up to next!
  9. Many Duggar threads are talking about the upcoming specials on Jill and Jessa. I am thinking it needs it's own thread (mods fix if you think otherwise). https://www.yahoo.com/tv/s/tlc-specials ... 40928.html So Buzzard, can you stomach the specials and take one for the team and do the recaps? Do we need to send provisions? Pray to :fsm:?
  10. This is tangentially Duggar related, but I think it's a good topic for Quiver Full of Snark because I'm hoping FJers will want to talk about midwife charlatans and the like, not just the Duggar connection. Venessa Giron, a lay midwife from Tontitown, AR, delivered a baby who developed group b strep and nearly died in February, 2014. The baby is okay now. Venessa's license was revoked with no fanfare sometime last week. She happened to be supervising Jill and Jana Duggar's lay midwife apprenticeships, so their permits were revoked as well. The GBS+ case was discussed a little bit during Jill's never-ending pregnancy here: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=25434&hilit=supervisor&start=540 but a lot of people missed it and I'm not sure how deep the discussion went. I read every word of those threads and it went right over my head. I have a tendency to write a wall of text when I make a new topic, and people don't care to add, maybe. So I'm trying to keep this brief. I have links to Venessa's facebook and screenshots of relevant fb posts, links to the state registry where Venessa's name was removed last week. I have the name of the baby and her family, but I'm not sure I will share it here; there hasn't been any media report about this and I don't want to "out" anyone who hasn't done anything wrong, except possibly hire a reckless midwife. A Mommy's Butterfly Midwifery: https://www.facebook.com/pages/A-Mommys ... 97?fref=ts It looks like she's catching babies somewhere, but presumably not in Arkansas. She is originally from Texas and offers services in Oklahoma as well.

  13. It's the continuing saga of Jill, Derick and little Israel - ministering to the unwashed in Dangerous!Central!America! when they aren't in the states for Counting On. Last page of the previous thread: coming home for autumn, car seats in trucks - you know, same song, new verse:

  15. Part 8 is here: Thread title is courtesy of @Buzzard, who I can't seem to tag right now (boo!) There haha! For those unaware, no Duggar started a courtship, got pregnant, adopted, or had anything life-changing, other than suddenly all the Duggar kids want to adopt children out of nowhere. Most forgettable episode yet. May it be the last.
  16. Part 7 is here: From TLC, the people who are masters at reusing old footage when their show has become too boring, comes new heights of ridiculousness. They have stooped so low as to reuse footage from only 3-4 months ago, and to once again use a family's pain for ratings. Supposedly, there's some life-changing announcement this next week, but unless it's that they're going to use all-original footage in the season finale, or that all the adult children are going to form a commune and become flower children, I will not be surprised.
  17. Well, Ben showed something all right, but it wasn't any rapping abilities that I could see. Also featured in the episode and the previous thread: Ben thinks he is a white savior for the inner city (he's really, really not). Even Jessa couldn't keep from laughing at Ben's terrible rapping. Flame can't take negative comments, and aside from Anna, Ben and Jessa, no interviewed Duggar could say what hip-hop or rap even was. We needed to see yet another video chat between Jill and the rest of the family. Next week: the girls' getaway that gets awkward because of Josh (even though he isn't there). Also, possibility of blind dates? This can only go well. And we begin to count on...another awkward and cringeworthy episode.
  18. Next week, Ben Seewald is going to show the world his rapping abilities (or lack thereof). The girls try to contact Jill. More courtship teasing that says a whole lot of nothing. So much drama! How will it be contained?
