  1. Welcome! It's your resident FJ Wedding Dress Enthusiast; Jinder. I fucking love wedding dresses and so will be ranking/reviewing all of the Duggar wedding gowns so far. This is intended to be light-hearted and in no way BEC....that's why I'm not reviewing any Bates' dresses (yikes). Feel free to share your favourite Duggar dresses so far! Let's get started. In order of most favourite to least favourite: 1. Jinger's Dress: The Showstopper. Jinger wowed all of us with her double-layered 13 ft. train. The traditional white lace ballgown featured pearl buttons and detailed 3/4 illusion-laced sleeves. It was made or 'made' by Ms. Renee of Renee's Bridal and Special Occasions. She completed the look with simple pearl earrings, a hand-made bracelet and a waltz-length veil. Bonus Points: Floral pink pumps for a pop of colour That lovely silver-beaded headband Wearing a styled updo! Managing a 13 ft. train. OMG that train is so gorgeous. Penalties: None! Jinger wins this one. 2. Jessa's Dress: The Blessa Blush Ballgown. Jessa also surprised viewers with her Allure Modest Collection blush ballgown. It was a lovely youthful look featuring a beaded bodice, cap-sleeves and tulle ball-gown skirt. She completed the look with a simple layered fingertip veil with a blusher (ha ha, see what I did there). Bonus Points: Her jeweled off-center headband! Wearing pink and not giving a fuck. Not giving Jim Bob the satisfaction of conducting her first kiss. Penalties: Sticking poor Jana in that offensively pink ruffle monstrosity. Not letting us see her shoes! (I know Blessa doesn't care about shoes, but I do). Make her wedding guests eat ice-cream outside, in November. Kendra's Dress: The Vivacious Voluminizer Kendra sported a fun ballgown also by Renee's Bridal and Special Occasions. This number featured a layered ballgown skirt (either of tulle or organza material) and a beaded bodice with cap-sleeves. She topped off the look with a very fluffy fingertip veil. Actually, Kendra's whole wedding look was quite fluffy. Bonus Points: Picking a dress that really complimented her personality. Not letting the dress wear her. Her beaming smile. Penalties: I wanted my rainbow poop emoji earrings, dammit! A lack of mint. Amy's Dress: The (Modern) Hit and (Modest) Miss. I know some may prefer to forget about her, but Amy was a Duggar at one point....and Essence of Australia dress was a big hit. The ivory gown was made from a silk-satin and featured a full pleated skirt and strapless sweetheart neckline. The dress was topped off with a lovely champagne sash that complimented her bridesmaids' dresses. She finished the look with some gorgeous earrings and a cathedral veil. Bonus Points: Wearing a cathedral veil (those are hard to manage!) Defrauding half her family with her neckline Choosing quality material. Wearing a well fitted dress. Celebrating her union with drink and dance. Penalties: Unfortunately, I had to subtract 10 points from Gryffindor because Amy's reception dress was...er, not the most flattering. I found it too shiny, too ruched and just too much. I know you're serving champagne Ames, but you don't have to wear it. She looked like a wedding guest...and not the best dressed one. I deem the champagne party starter dress a miss. I don't want this post to be too long, so I'll continue the series tomorrow. Thanks for entertaining my silliness. Good night!
  2. Last thread here: Thanks to the latest thread drift about "ministry" for the thread title. Duggars are doing ALERT things with social media, none of the Duggars except Anna are currently following Amy, and...the Duggars are the Duggars, still fundie, boring, and looking for more TLC money. Carry on, y'all!

  5. Welcome one and all to the Official VelociRapture Cheat Sheet for the extended Duggar family. A few things before we start: 1. DO NOT COMMENT ON THIS UNTIL YOU SEE A SUMMARY FOR JOSIE. I say this in all caps so you have no excuses if you do comment before then. Posting these summaries takes a lot of time due to the size of the text and I have a baby who requires attention. I'm trying to make sure all the summaries are up top together, so please don't post until you see one for Josie. 2. These are very basic summaries. I don't watch the shows, so I wrote these using a combination of FJ, social media, and google. If you see something incorrect or there's something missing then please comment below (once all the summaries are up.) All I ask is that you cite legitimate sources - there's a ton of false information and rumors about the Duggars. I'd like to keep the summaries as factual as possible. 3. That said, if you know that one of the kids loves pizza and hates salad you don't need to cite that. I'll try to keep up with the comments and update as needed. Summaries start with the parents and then go by birth order of the children. Some of the kids are included in the same summaries because I don't know much about them and it was easier. Click on each spoiler to view.
  6. Did anybody listen to the latest episode of the Longest Shortest Time podcast? It's about a Hasidic woman named Fredia. She's the 5th child in a family of 15 kids. She gets married and for the first time stumbles into the secular world. She can her husband begin to explore newspapers, the internet and movies. Before you know it she adopts a screen name (Shpitzel), starts a blog and ends up documenting her departure from the ideals she was raised with. whenever I hear stories like hers it makes me think "I wonder how long it will be before women like Jinger Duggar and Karen Schupe change their minds about the thoughts they were raised with?" i hope someone heard the podcast. It's #136.
  7. Continued from here: Josh does the completely unexpected and tries to tag along on his sisters' lawsuit.
  8. Continued from Part 1:

  10. To the creators and commentors of this page. Thank-you so much! Your comments are wonderful and I couldn't stop laughing while reading them last night. Your senses of humour are great!
  11. Hi guys! For those of you who had watched the interview Chris Shelton (a researcher on cults) did with an IBLP survivor, they did a detailed, documentary-style follow up. (If this is in the wrong thread, please correct. Thanks!) Here it is:
  12. Season Four is almost upon us and promos are showing up. Here is a home for them and the new season.
  13. Continued from here: The courtships, engagements, and weddings roll on. Jackson is now a teen and seems to have missed his messy sundae. We have years of law suit discussions in our future! Title by Buzzard.
  14. I was watching Netflix the other day as I unpacked moving boxes and I got to the episode where we first meet the Bates family. They come to stay with the Duggars. Their very close friends who they hadn't seen in seven years And they jump out of planes, etc (which was actually kind of hip for the Duggars!) They went on the outing with Amy making fun of it the whole time and the Bates girls were all dressed in matching little girl outfits, even though a number of them were over 18. And they talked about it for a while, about all the girls, toddlers and up, liking to wear matching outfits. I was sort of stunned. Here we are years later and Erin and Alyssa are both married. And Jill. And almost Jessa. And I'm staring at them. Granted they were younger. But are we to believe that Alyssa, who met her now husband when she was 16, attracted him in those outfits? And Erin with her pink master bedroom. I guess my statement/question is this, even for Fundie men, what is the appeal of this child brides dressed like dolls? Do they really want to go for the rest of their lives with women who know very little about the world? Jill has at least travelled and worked, sort of, as a midwife. Anyone else have any thoughts? I mean the contrast between seeing them as married women and the dressed in matching outfits...
  15. Last thread found here: Sierra is a alleged wedding planner, turned caterer, turned wedding coordinator, and who knows what she'll invent herself as next. Title is from one of her newest instagram posts, where she said that she said she wants the love in her marriage to be so strong that nobody can deny God's existence...in the middle of an argument with said husband. Let's see how this unfolds!
  16. Not sure if this was posted before, but Big Sandy is scheduled for April. I was just browsing the offerings and mugshots of our usual suspects (Gil and OfGil Bates, Jim Bob and OfJimBob Duggar, the incomparable Davy Waller, and little Gabe Cleaver Cleator) when who should pop up but Steve and OfSteve Maxwell! I don't remember them being on the schedule before: http://familyconferences.org/events/family-conference/big-sandy/
