Cuckoo Clock Cat!

My latest finished page from the Creative Cats book...my favorite coloring book so far.  I love her designs!  Am now working on a page in her Owls book, the one with the Owl and the Pussycat in their boat.

How long did this take, @Tikobaby?  I SEVERELY love it!

Well, I worked on it over several evenings, but not all in a row since sometimes after working my eyes are too tired to color and I don't want to make mistakes. Also, some days I worked on my photography and had to edit and deal with a lot of images. I've never done one of these cat pages all in one sitting...they are too intricate and I like to take my time.  Guessing between 4-6 hours?  Not really sure.  Am so glad you like it!

Yes,  I love the Creative Cats book...it's my favorite so far.  All the Creative Haven books seem to be very high quality. It's a matter of what you feel drawn to color and how intricate you want the designs to be.  I have C. Cats, Owls, NatureScapes, and the Peacock Designs books.  Am really enjoying coloring!  Love the Prismacolor Premier markers with the brush tips, Copic Sketch and Winsor & Newton markers also.

That's not as long as I would have expected. There's a lot of intricate stuff in there. I have a hard time stopping once I start, to my own detriment, because I end up being unable to see what I'm doing. After one such marathon I literally saw double FOR HOURS. Four car headlights, two red traffic lights, etc. Perhaps I shouldn't have been driving?  Keep 'em coming, @Tikobaby, you rock!

You are very kind and encouraging...thank you, Fascinated!   It may have taken longer...really can't tell because time just flies by when I'm coloring.  I'm working on a page from the Owls book now. It's not as intricate, so it won't take as long.  Maybe I can try to pay more attention to how long it takes!  It sounds like when you color, you really get into it also, but I don't think you should be driving when you're seeing double!  Try and rest your eyes more. My right eye often starts twitching when I'm coloring and most of the time, I just ignore it, but sometimes I have to stop.

Oh...earlier today I ordered more Prismacolors on sale at the blick art supply website. Yay! More colors!

I love this book.   If you haven't seen my personal blog, I have some comments on various coloring supplies that might help you.

Would you like to join this blog, so you can post your work for all of us to see?

Yay.  I'm glad you were able to get some markers from blick.  Those prices were so good.  I spent more than I intended to, but I'll just not buy anything else for a while.  I don't really need to buy anything at all at this point, but I am weak :P

I love this one, that lavender is SO gorgeous and I love that it has no "streaks."  It just looks so soft.    I cant' wait till the dogs book comes out.  I was going to pre-order it, but since it's not until May I decided to wait.    I did a search for creative haven coloring books and then sorted by publication date and found a bunch of new ones coming out that I didn't have on my wish list.    Before the first one comes out, I may do a big pre-order of all the ones I want and then I'll have books coming randomly for a few months.   Nice to get a little package in the mail once in a while.

I spent more than I should have because I am weak also when it comes to art supplies!  Mrs. Baby is too generous and tells me to "get whatever you want", but I don't think she understands how MUCH I want!  So I do try to rein myself in.  I have a lot of upcoming new coloring books on my Amazon Wish List. They aren't coming out for a few months. One is the Dazzling Dogs one and there's one about art deco ancient Egyptian designs that I can't wait to get!  I have drawn my own ancient Egyptian designs just so I could color them because I love that kind of thing. The jewelry in King Tut's tomb is gorgeous and I drew and colored my version of the golden face mask too. Can't remember where I put that sketchbook, though.

The lavender color is called "Orchid" and it's a Winsor & Newton ProMarker.  I LOVE it too!

We need a jewellery book!  (My auto correct preferred 'few elderly'!)

(Plus, I'm away and going through withdrawal.)

I'd love a book with ancient jewelry to color!  Or Faberge jewelry from the Imperial Russia era.

That would be awesome. It would be fun if we all coloured the same picture. I'm imagining the gorgeous colours. There must be stuff like this available?  I will search.

That would be a fun once a month activity or something.   Post a design and we all color and post our results.

Ah, but that's the thing: you're only supposed to scrutinize the things you don't like. The basic use of conspiracy theories seems to be to A) give their believers an excuse for not being as successful as they think they deserve to be or B ) give them a reason to do what they want even though it isn't very sensible.

I think there's one more even bigger use - to make the believers feel smart. Everybody likes to feel smart, to be in the know, to have information to share. And a LOT of conspiracy theories have an element of "look at these college educated super 'smart' scientists and others over there, who don't even know this one simple trick that YOU know! Aren't you actually smarter than all them?!"

No, they are not. Some intelligent educated people will fall for conspiracy theories, but the majority of people who buy into them are not the brightest bulbs in the chandelier.

Because really. If there was a simple treatment protocol for cancer, or any of these conspiracy theories were true, it'd be publicized widely. It wouldn't be something you only hear about from a friend of a friend of a friend on Facebook. Nor would it require an ever increasing network of conspiracies to make it make sense.

None of this conspiracy theory mess stands up to any real scrutiny.

The compound seems to be in the middle of nowhere. I doubt they're anywhere near a hospital. And I could see arrogant Allison refusing transfer of herself or the baby.

Looks like the nearest hospital to Mountain Grove MO is Texas County Hospital in Houston, MO,  about 30 min. away.

Meanwhile, I wonder how Liz Bontrager feels about 20-year Christian Bowers. He is a bit of a snacc, as they say.  https://www.instagram.com/christianjetbowers/

I suspect they'll probably give it another try for a girl, and/or to even out the number of kids at 4.

Just as long as they don't end up like the Weasleys, with a ton of boys in search of the blessed girl child.

I think they'll probably follow medical advice and proceed with caution, they seem to be capable of thinking and change even if I don't always agree with their beliefs. And I hope Jill is still seeing her therapist, it's amazing how much that seems to have helped her.

As a homeschooling ("homeschooling") parent how is she not hiding in shame that not a single one of her children likes to read? If they were doing a decent job homeschooling I'd expect the answer to be closer to "most of our children love to read. We have one/two who would read 24/7 if we let them and one/two who hate reading with every fiber of their being and one/two who love reading but have to work extra hard at reading."

Like the Rods and so many other fundies I snark on, they are abysmal failures at homeschooling.

In their minds I’m guessing they see their homeschooling efforts as a complete success. Children who don’t read and aren’t ever encouraged to be curious about the world will be far less likely to leave the Borg.
