Hot Blooded (& a bit of musical tangents through 80's metal)

So this crosses my screen this afternoon.  And it makes my happy.  Foreigner - Hot Blooded.

Spoiler

The bass player in this lineup is Jeff Pilson.  He used to be in this band (Dokken - Breaking the Chains)

Spoiler

The singer of that Foreigner lineup?  Kelly Hanson.  I've actually seen Kelly sing live before.  Back in the 80's with a band called Hurricane.  They were on tour with Stryper.  (it was at Memorial Hall in KCK, small venue but great place to see music because there weren't bad seats in the place) Hurricane - I'm On To You.

Spoiler

Now the bass player is Tony Cavazo and the guitar player is Robert Sarzo.  Do those names sound a little familiar?  But may they don't sound quite right?  It might be because you recognize them from their brothers.  Guitarist Carlos Cavazo and bassist Rudy Sarzo from this band

Rudy got tired of Kevin Dubrow (or something) and left QR for this band (which I also saw live while he was with it) (and yes, his hair is bleached out here).

Spoiler

And Tawney Kitean the car dancing video vixen?  She has a prior hair metal association as well.  Because those are her legs on Ratt's EP cover.  She dated guitarist Robbin Crosby at the time.

And since technically the song is  on the EP she was on.  Ratt - Back for More.

Spoiler

I've seen Ratt live as well.  They played Starlight Theater in KC as well as Municipal Auditorium with me in attendance.  The first of those at Starlight, an outdoor musical theater venue, had Bon Jovi opening for them (yes, I said opening for Ratt).  I'll  confess that I thought Jon Bon Jovi was a much stronger performer that night.  But it might have something to do with Jon's creative use of Starlight's onstage balcony for a song or two (he did get on the balcony to sing for a while) - which Stephen Pearcy did not do.

Now I'm off to spend some quality time YouTube Surfing.

In a sad/depressing note from my surfing after posting the above.  I stumbled across a Behind the Music for Ratt (which includes one of the final interviews with guitarist Robbin Crosby)

Tayte and Martha had a non-juried, pre-trial hearing on Aprill 11 in Colquitt County court for an unspecified matter. Presumably, a divorce or custody issue, based on the observations of other folks here.

I've been off of this board for a year, and am still playing catch up with a few threads. I'm not remotely surprised about Martha, other than the fact it took 10 years to come to a head. Frankly, I suspect that she won't be the only Morton clocking a divorce in the years to come. Tayte and Martha were an awkward pairing at best. I don't think it was arranged in the same sense as some of the S'Morton unions seemed to be, but Martha was in such a weird place in the family timeline. Age-wise, she was in the unfortunate position of being born between the oldest Morton sibs who had VERY early marriages in the thick of their fundy connections (except Addie), and the younger sibs who seemed to have far more choice, and enjoyed the illusion of secular entertainment/socialization outside of the home church. She didn't have an obvious partner waiting for her (presumably, none of the Campana boys were interested), and she apparently wasn't allowed to drift around the estate as an adjunct babysitter/dog breeder/entrepreneur like Addie was before her marriage (also to a much younger man).

I suspect Martha will end up married off again, probably to a significantly older man. Especially if the elder Mortons make their move to Paraguay permanent.

But how would that work? Anna gets the reports and it’s her job to stop Josh from using porn/child porn but also she is to dutifully serve him and he has the final say? Either she has authority or she doesn’t.

That's exactly the point. She doesn't have authority to take any action against him. It's just a way for her to feel like she's holding him accountable (and for them to seem like they're "above reproach" in their fundy circle). And now he's sitting in jail for proving how useless software like that is.

The squat poem sure seems as though it's about a specific person. Indentured servant Lauren is the videographer:

In any case, Shoshanna's poetry is really terrible - embarrassingly terrible.

Don’t mind me, I’m still stuck on #reprobate

I mean, terrible poetry is common but calling out the other woman as a reprobate while squatting in a childbirthing power pose is truly exceptional.
