We are skipping episode 5 and 6 which was the finale because for reasons I no longer recall someone filled in for me those weeks and it's not my content to share.  And I'm sure not going to find this crap online to watch it again so TLDR on 5 - celebrities annoying the general public because God forbid someone not notice them for 3 seconds. Sorry - should have checked to make sure I had a whole season before I decided to share life lessons of the sort-of-stars.

I am Granny Clampett...

Not seeing the resemblance?  You will after this sadly true story. We moved into this house almost a year ago.  I've always liked the cooktop.   One of the kids who had cleaned the kitchen had dropped part of what we thought was a burner grate and it cracked. shit happens and I was so happy someone cleaned the kitchen without being asked I wasnt even annoyed when my husband said he couldn't find the replacement piece online.  Figured with my Google fu I'd have it ordered in no time.

4 hrs 22 minutes...

Into my vacation until I had to remote in.  Weird little server hiccough which would have taken a few minutes in the office took over half an hour with walking someone though finding the right server in my rack and plugging in the monitor.   KVM fucky due to firmware update I keep forgetting to do so last time I just hooked monitor directly to the server I needed snd forgot to fix before leaving.   But I do think 'please unplug the monitor from server X into server Y' when they are two

Lifehack...

When eating scrambled eggs informally at home (as opposed to eating them with the Queen) use a bowl rather than a plate. sides of the bowl make it much easier to ensure even distribution of ketchup. I don't know how the Queen does it...probably has a royal egg and ketchup smusher on staff. I'm failing at relaxing...

I've looked forward to this morning for so long, but I'm still stressed. everyone knows I am only checking email periodically and if they need me they must text or call...otherwise I'll deal when I get back. this was made emphatically clear.  Do not expect me to respond to email. so I haven't checked it and no texts/calls so no emergencies.  But every time I hear my work email chime I physically clench.  I want to check it to put my mind at ease, but I don't want to check it becau

I'm not very focused at the moment - can you tell?   Actually I performed a bit of genius technical wizardry this morning so I'm recuperating from all that effort. (If it takes me 10 minutes, but it saves 5 other people untold hours from their jobs I should be able to call it a day and head home.  No?) Are they out of their minds?

There are articles out there that give you ideas for things to do on your staycation.  The vast majority of them require effort...and leaving my couch.  Not the first time I've felt like an outlier in life - but ffs if I wanted to do stuff I'd go to work.   But I do like to plan and am a list making kind of girl so here is my to do list for day one of my staycation: Strawberry pancakes for breakfast Coffee out of my favorite Hello Kitty cup - not gulped out of a travel

He's everything I'm not, but at least I don't touch the lawnmower...

The latest chapter in the Adventures of Mr. Buffy is simultaneously impressive and super gross: He squatted down to adjust the wheels on the lawnmower and in the process of this very masculine activity grabbed something to steady himself. Equal time for the 7 virtues.  On a score of 1-10 I give myself... Chastity:  I'm going to go with 5/10 because the old definition included personal hygiene and I do shower regularly. Temperance:  9/10 but not because I want to.  If I let myself off the leash that would be bad for me and society as a whole. Charity:  In the sense of unlimited loving kindness.  9/10 if I gave birth to you or you are an animal.  1/10 if you are a human to whom I didn't give mitochondrial DNA.
