'Animal Kingdom' bird (at dusk)

So, when will I learn that dark Copics do not have a fine enough point for the background in this type of design (with many sharp corners)?  This background is Prussian Blue.  I also hate the green and orange combo on the bird's breast.  I did him in gel pens and the rest is mostly W&N markers.  Overall, I like it. Just don't look too closely!  It really is quite a mess up close!

Curious Camping

Another picture from my curious creatures book. Done in fine-tip markers with coloured pencil background in an attempt to save marker ink.  Fun project.  I'm now on the hunt for cheap non-fine-tip markers as I find the fine tips show way more streaks than I'd like. Oh, and I've learned that I am a terrible photographer. No matter how many times I take a picture of my work, it always ends up slightly blurry.

Bright owl

Happy to find this blog and join in I really enjoy adult coloring. I love the neon bright colors. I used pencil, markers and highlighters on this bright owl. I host a group once a month at our library called Fifty Shades of Coloring lol. We make bookmarks and other things and then laminate the bookmarks. It's interesting to see how people color the same image in neat and various ways.

Pampered Pets Go Boating

Here's the edited version of my latest completed page from the Pampered Pets book.  Colored with Prismacolor brush tips, Copic Sketch, and Winsor & Newton ProMarkers.  The unedited version is on my profile page if anyone wants to compare them.

Mech tree

It didn't quite turn out as desired.     Done with wax crayons and watered acrylics Previously done here http://www.freejinger.org/blogs/entry/1365-curious-creatures-with-mech-tree-and-robots/  by @caszandra

Magical Mandala 4 - Blue Monday

Finished this one on Friday but wanted to wait till today for the name to make sense! Same as the other ones, Winsor and Newton ProMarkers and colours I used wrote on the page. I am really enjoying colouring the mandalas, much more than I expected.

Les Fleurs

I just finished this! The floor took forever, but it's done, finally. I think I'm happy with how it turned out. This is another page for Home, Sweet Home by Steve Duffendack (linked in my last post). I ordered another of his books, due to arrive tomorrow. It's called, Home Away From Home.

Birds, clocks, kites and Sharpie-highs

I finally dug out my Sharpies (24 pack). Apparently they are packaged quite differently than I remember. I don't know where these pages come from. They are in my colouring folder on my computer, which suggests free samples. Coloring that one apparently made it sound like I was eating. It did make that phone call way more pleasant than expected.   And I had forgotten just how crappy Sharpie-headaches can get.

Magical Mandala 3 - Purple Haze

Finished this one yesterday, decided after naming my pink one to do the same for the rest of them. Only wish I could go back and edit my first one to add it's name (Sunshiny Day). I used Winsor & Newton ProMarkers again on this one (love those pens).

Entangled2

This one was a little more interesting, I thought.  When I color, I am sitting on my bed with two boxes of Prismacolor pencils available, but not spread out.  Sometimes drowsiness gets to work before I get everything gathered up, and I might end up sleeping with a pencil or two under the blanket with me.  But it is relaxing.

Entangled1

My coloring is down between awake and going to sleep,  sitting on my bed with a lamp on.  Sleeping pills are involved.  I haven't taken an eraser back there, so smears remain smears.  But I enjoy doing it, warts and all..  This came out of a book called Entangled, so I guess they are zentangles that somebody made into a book.

Magical Mandala 2 - A Study In Pink.

I am loving my new book and wish I had got it sooner, I have done 3 pages from it already but don't want to saturate the blog too much! I used my Winsor & Newton ProMarkers again, I put the colours I used at the bottom of the pic.

Mr. Oswin's Contribution

I haven't been coloring at all lately but my husband colors a lot. He ends up having to sit on hold on the phone a lot while he works. So during those times...he colors. Since I have nothing to contribute I thought I'd post his most recent picture (with his permission, of course.) This is from a Creative Haven Steampunk book he found at Costco. I think it's actually a few different steampunk books made into one really large book. Steampunk isn't necessarily his "thing" but he's been enjoying the

Un Papillon

I colored this two nights ago. I've been coloring regularly again, and it's fun! I actually have a couple of pages to post.  It's kind of at a weird angle. I photographed it this way to catch the light better.  This page is from Home Sweet Home , by Steve Duffendack.

In honor of allergy season, or Beyonce's Lemonade

So I finished this one up recently.  Not sure what made me want to do this specific page, but I enjoyed coloring it in.  The only thing I wish I had done differently is that I wish I didn't include the lime at the bottom, and had made it an orange instead.  I don't think the key-lime green color pops against the green of all the leaves.  This page is from Off the Bookshelf, and I used Prismacolor Scholar pencils.   Now, who's with me and wants to bake some lemon bars!

Magical Mandala 1 - Sunshiny Day

When I was looking on Amazon for another colouring book this one came up on my recommendation list. It is the Creative Haven Magical Mandala book, I was a bit scared of mandalas in case I messed them up but this one looked really good so I decided to give it a whirl and see how I got on. Started with page 1 and I used Winsor and Newton ProMarkers, I wrote the colours I used at the bottom of the page. Hope you like it!

Royal Cat/Pampered Pets

Here's my latest page. From Pampered Pets again.  That book is fantastic and I've already started another page.  Copic Sketch, Prismacolor, Blick, and Copic Ciao markers and Winsor & Newton ProMarkers.  For those interested, I am also going to post the page before editing on my profile page so you can compare them.

Coloring Flowers

I found this book at Barnes and Nobel. The title is Coloring Flowers over 40 Delightful Pictures With Full Coloring Guides. I don't really use the coloring guide part. I referred to it when I was shading a little. I chose this book because it seemed more simple, but ended up being more complicated than I anticipated. I had fun with this. Used my Spectrum Noir markers, Artist's Loft (Michaels Brand), and some Copic Ciao.

Enchanted Forest

I am so excited I can share now. They aren't nothing special and I use prisma colored pencils because that is what I always have had. I am only having fun and not taking it too seriously.  It usually happens at night, along with wine.

'Animal Kingdom' Raccoon

I have been colouring quite a lot lately.  I apologize if I'm blog hogging again, but it puts real life in abeyance for a while, right? I attempted to do some blending with the Prisma brush markers, although I did not use the actual blender as I still don't know how to use that.  I think I was fairly successful, and I am very proud of the top of his nose. It looks pretty realistic on the page.  I know raccoons don't really have brown bits but obviously his colours aren't exactly true to lif

A Tree - How Exciting!

So, I colored a tree. It's not a very exciting design, but I really wanted to color something where I didn't have to put a ton of thought into which colors to pick. And it was super nice to use fine liners for a change. I think it turned out pretty nice, even if not very spectacular.

Mystic Mandala 13

Mystic Mandalas book, CraZArt 72 count colored pencils.  A tale of two pictures.  I'm posting 13 first.  I like 13, I'm happy with 13.  I like to go through books in order.  and I didn't like 12 (the second pic).  But I forced myself to do it.  I sort of stopped almost to the end.  I'm declaring it done.  Probably I need to learn to skip over pics I don't like.

      Went here tonight for dinner

They have a kind of Juicy Lucy called the Blucy - which is a type of Juicy Lucy with blu cheese.  When my mom, sister, brother in law, and niece were up last weekend we went to the 42nd street location in Minneapolis.  Tonight I went to the Como Ave location instead.  Yeah, it hit the spot.
